I have a page register.aspx that a user can use to register on my website. Once the registration process is completed, I redirect the user to thankyou.aspx where he will get a code to activate his account.
My problem is this: from the thankyou.aspx page, if the user click the "previous button" on the navigator, he can still have access to the information he had previously submitted and might cause data duplication . I don't want this to happen. I want in that case to redirect him back to thankyou.aspx or another page which will be different than the register.aspx.
My questions are:
1. how can I prevent the user to use the "previous button" on the navigator to avoid data duplication? 2. in case question 1 cannot be done, how can I know in register.aspx that the user comes from thankyou.aspx (which should not normally happen) so that I can redirect him to another page?
My approch was before redirecting to thankyou.aspx, I concatenated session.sessionID and another data to be retrieved on thankyou page. And on thankyou.aspx, I destroy the session after the page was loaded by using Session.Contents.RemoveAll(). And here, nothing happens. The session is still on when using the previous button.
I made a GridView application and adds a Delete icon into the GridView. When i compiled a code, it shows the GridView properly, but as i clicked on the Delete icon, it shows the following error: Deleting is not supported by data source 'SqlDataSource1' unless DeleteCommand is specified.
I having problem on the checking duplication entry on grid view. The situation is like this:
When i click Submit Button, The function will make a checking into mysql. If the data already exist then the submition of data will not being process. The error that i got here is, Both already exist and not exist data not being process. this is my checking coding
in my case, It is the windows service which in running the long running insert/update on a table and I need to cancel the operation from my ASP.NET application. In the above link Burnsys suggests that one should kill the Sql server session. Is that really only way and a goood practice to do this? Also, in the same poset can use SqlCommand.Cancel to cancel. However, I am not sure how can I cancel the command from the windows service from ASP.NET application.
I am new to ASP.NET but have had about a year of experience with VB.Net. Currently I am working on a webpage where I can download my inventory list from a GridView control to an excel spreadsheet. The routine is very straight forward however I cannot get it to stop duplication data in the spreadsheet. When I run my routine it inserts the gridview twice in the spreadsheet, the second one immediately to the right of the first table...
[code]....
It renders perfectly on the page by using the following commands:
[Code]....
I have tried a little bit of everything to stop the duplication and am completely stumped.
I have a simple add form on the page and below it is its gridview with edit and delete buttons. Everything works fine, but when i click on edit on a particular row/record, it changes to edit row but i want the record to be edited in the original add form (which is above the gridview).
I am able to edit a record on the gridview but i want it to be edited in the add form. Is there any particular way to do this? I came across formview concept but not sure if i am able to do that with it.
I have used the database data to combo box values. But the problem is i don't now how to avoid the duplicate data. for e.g In a single column name called "department " is used so many time but i wanted it only one time should be displayed the combo box.
I am inserting mortgage loan scenarios in via GridView table. Let's say $100K loan with FICO score 700 in state of MN.
Sometimes I want to apply the same scenario to multiple states rather than Inserting one row at a time. I figured a Listbox with SelectionMode="Multiple" option would be to way to go.
I want to do one thing that when i edit the gridview then it will not go back to main form for editing.it will remain there in the form for the row editable.
i-e when i edit any row then it will be editable on the gridview.
I have one project in TFS and once I get latest version it gives following error. "Resource is ambiguous, imported from the namespaces or types 'System, System.web'". Even I have checked twice that there is no duplication but still giving error.
I have a web page containing a multipage and 3 pageviews filled with controls... linked to VB server side code. All I want to do, and I imagine it's pretty simple intuitively, is to grab all the controls from one of the 3 pageviews and add it to the multipage.
Now I have 4 pageviews. The 4th one being a copy of either pageview 1, 2 or 3.I looked everywhere and I understand I need to deep copy the PageView and stick it to the Multipage, as I already do for a blank PageView, but I am missing the rest.
I have two textBox, one button and one gridview. In one texbox, I enter a value, click the button to add this entry to the gridview and the footer is computing the sum as i add more entries to the gridview.
I also have a textbox outside the gridview that will hold an amount, now I want to perform an operation like...(txtOutsideGridview - gridviewEntry1 - gridviewEntry2), and display the result of this operation inside the footer of the gridview, instead of the sum. How do I go about doing this?
So far all I have been able to do is sum up the total of entries within the Gridview, but that is not my desired operation...here is what my current code looks like
I am having a gridview with some button column. I have written some functionality in code behind for the button click. How can i display a confirm dialog in mid of the button click functionality and based on users response(Yes or No from dialog) i need to continue the remaining funtionality in the button click event.
I have a table in a DB in which I need to perform the following operations:
1. Order the table using index A. 2. Traverse the table and do some calculations for every row. 3. Order the table using index B. 4. Traverse the table and do some calculations for every row. 5. Order the table using index C. 6. Traverse the table and do some calculations for every row.
As you can see, what I need is to process such a table several times depending upon a different index for every process. If I use a DataReader I can only traverse it one way and one time, I cannot apply another index and start from the beginning once again. What strategy should I use to achieve my goal? Is a DataTable a good choice?
I've got a routine that's supposed to be capturing data from an XML to a DataTable (which works fine), and then using that data to insert into MS SQL. I have no problems with the Inserting of records (via a different routine) but am struggling to update existing records - I'm not even getting any errors, and I can verify that the data is being assigned to the parameters.
Here's what I've got.
Shared Sub Sold(ByVal FullPath As String) Dim SQLSold As String Dim SC As New SqlConnection(CS) SQLSold = "Update Properties SET Status = @Status, Price = @Price WHERE UniqueID = @UniqueID" Dim DT As New DataTable
How can I display edit and new buttons without duplication in a detailsview control? This is a question from a past exam paper for 70-562. Part of the question is below:
"The company CIO assigns a task to you. According to his requirement, you must make sure that the users can insert and update content in the DetailsView1 control. Besides this, you have to prevent duplication of the link button controls for the Edit and New operations. At line 3, which code segment should be inserted?"
