Forms Data Controls :: Maintain Page State On Postback From Other Webpages?

I have a abc.aspx page having some control like (drop downs, text boxes), i am filling a grid based on selected items in the drop downs and date selected from the ajax calender extender control attached to the from data and to date text boxes.
Inside grid there is a link which redirects to bcd.aspx, this page (bcd.aspx) is having a back button to redirect abc.aspx.
Now what i want is, abc.aspx should main its state like grid, drop downs and text boxes should be shown as it was earlier, i.e. all should have same values as it was at the time of redirecting to bcd.aspx.
Yes, there is a way to maintain the state by passing all values from query string and than get all values back and rebind all controls. But i don't want to go this way because i will have pass so many values in query string.
I am having a ASP.net application it having three pages ,page 1,page 2,page 3,when the user navigating between this pages I want to maintain the view state in page level after postbacks(i.e.) .If a user visits page 3, passing some query loads some data .then he moves to page 1 doing some entries .after that he once again moves to page 3 now I want to display the data previously available at the time he moves to page 1, same way I want to do to my three pages up to the user logging out.
I have "n" <tables></tables> on my page and each <table> has One(1) <asp:CheckBox.. Enable ='true"/> and "x" <asp:TextBox Enabled="false"..>. Each Table looks as follows

When I click checkbox, it calls javascript function and enables textboxes (I have added onclick attribute to checkbox). Page also has <asp:Button ...Text="Submit"/> whcih actually grabs the data from the textboxes on the page and send it to the databse. Here is the Onclick event of the <asp"button../>

If the exception is thrown , textBoxes are not reset but on postback textboxes appear as disabled (values are not reset)
So here is what happening on postback when exception is thrown
1) Values are not reset (that is what want)
2) Texboxes appear as Disabled (that is what I don't want on exception, REMEMBER I enable textBoxes using client side script)
I have created a matser page with a two radio buttons, text box and a button. Whenever user sets some values to these control and clicks the button, i will navigating him from one content page to another based on the data he has entered. The problem is after the content page load, the values selected/given in the controls(radio button, text box) are getting cleared.
My <input id="FileUpload1" name="FileUpload1" type="file"> and country dropdown both are inside update panel , now on selectedindexchanged it do postback , which i am triggering in update panel to avoid page refresh .
Now the problem is when i select any image in fileupload and then select country , my selectedimage vanishes but its path stays in textbox .
in that i am displaying the questions using details view.I am taking 4 options as radiobuttons(Template field).my problem is i will check one option and move to next page in detailsview & so on.if i go to page 1 option i checked is reset,so how to maintain the state of options checked in detailsview.

I have a multiView control within which I have 3 views as part of building a customer order.
Step 1: Customer is selected from gridView and Customer Name is saved in MultiView Session.
Step 2: Products are chosen from gridView. The grid is re-bound depending on which product category is selected in a dropDownList. The product details are also stored.
Step 3: All of the details required to build the INSERT query are passed to labels on a form to be reviewed before committing to db. The next stage, now that I have managed to select multiple rows, will be to display this data in another gridView.
Everything works fine, except for the paging and dropDownList which is causing the checkbox state to be lost after postBack.
I've read a few articles on this, but I think I have made the task more complicated due to the dropDownList in addition to paging. Essentially the customer will be able to select various product lines, across various bindings of the gridView so I need to persist the checkbox state and retain the data for the INSERT query.
I have some collapse able anhcor link tags on a page that reveal some text when clicked on i.e.: [+] Topic This is all done in javascript client side. I would like to maintain the users scroll position on the page when these links are clicked on. They dont cause a postback as iv mentioned above its client side javascript.
i have a gridview which consists of databounds and dropdownlist control. When I press the Add Grid Row Button, it will insert a row. Now my question is, if the user selected an item in dropdownList in the firstrow and the user click the AddGridRowBtn Again which will generate the 2nd row, how would i maintain the selectedItem in the dropdownlist after postback?
I am using pagination on datalist control. It is working fine without any issues. But I am not able to maintain the checkbox state while doing pagination. Looking for appropriate code for maintaining the state of checkbox.
I am using this article but i did not included the query to populate the gridview. I would like to know how to maintain the data (on postback / load) in gridview though I'm not using database [URL] ....
ViewState are used between same page Request and Response.
Session variable will stay throuwut the browsing until the Specified Expiration event.
Hidden Input control will be used whithin same page as well.
Are there any good exmples of this differences?
I wants to know the practice use here, because in hte current team, people are not prefering to use viewstate object due to some Heavy load of that object.
So i am try to use Session variable and working fine but can not see in the Viewsource of webpage.
Hidden Input control still make little weight on page compare to session..
In code below, when I have more than one DIV open and I choose to sort one of the GridViews, all the other Open Div's will close automatically. How can i keep the DIV's in the state they are in when I sort any GridView?

I know how to keep track of the checkbox in a datarow, but I got no idea on keep tracking the checkbox state in the header rows.
For example, assume my gridview have 3 pages, after I check the checkbox in the header rows in 1st page, I click on 2nd or 3rd pages, and click back to my 1st page, my checkbox status in 1st page still remains checked.

I created an application that grabs jokes from a database on start and shows the first joke on screen. Now when we hit the Next button it should show the second joke. When I first grab the jokes, I put them in a globally declared datatable. To show the first joke I'm doing:
Title.Value = dt.Rows[0]["joke_title"].ToString(); Detail.Value = dt.Rows[0]["joke_content"].ToString(); Now when I hit Next button I'm running these commands: Title.Value = dt.Rows[0+1]["joke_title"].ToString(); Detail.Value = dt.Rows[0+1]["joke_content"].ToString();
but when the Next button is hit, the page posts back and I lose the values in datatable. How do I solve the error without losing the data in the datatable?
i'm trying to do a simple wallpost function like facebook. I hv a link to show older post too. when i click on the link, i would like to dynamically retrieve another 15 record from database and add it. Currently i'm trying to bind the data onto a dynamic repeater and add it in a placeholder. but it will disappear after postback.i tried to dollow sample here, but i'm adding a more complicated control which is reapeter , so i'm stuck.http://www.asp.net/ajax/videos/how-to-dynamically-add-controls-to-a-web-page and another issue. if i click the button again, it will show the next 15 old record again, but i dont want to rebind the repeater coz then it's a waste of resources and also it will make any text that was entered in the comment textbox (which is not submited yet) to lost.
I have a two webpages,in my first webpage i have gridview with 8 pages(paging) and four coloumns.In fourth coloumn i have a link button to redirect tosecond webpage ,now i am in gridview 4 th page(paging) then i clicked the link button and move to second second webpage.
second webpage contain one button that will redirect to first webpage.if i come from second webpage to first webpage the gridview paging get reset.but i want to be on gridview 4th page(paging).
