i would like to sort a listview. i don't have a datasourceID. i bind the datasource manually. i think of using jquery(tablesorter) but i don't know how to use it.

From what i have found out, once there is no datasource assigned in listview html then the sort feature stops working automatically and you must put the code in the _Sorting event. I cannot find a good example of this logic.

I have connected listview by using datasourceid that means by using "sqldatasource1" now i want to change value of listview at run time according to search so for that i am using datasource at codebehind. but it give an error

I can assign a list of object to the datasource, but when I try to input a new object to the list of items from the ListView, it doesn't work.
I have a gridview with data. I want a button which is not part of the gridview. Then if I press a button the gridview is sorted by two colums. i.e column1 ascending column2 descending.
I am not looking to work with a Sqldatasource as I use a data access layer. So the sort would have to be from a datatable and databind or directly with the gridview.
I'm currently developing an ASP.net application w/ VB as the code behind. I have a page that shows all the user name currently assigned to the system. The problem now is that the page does not communicate directly to the database. Instead, I use HTTPrequest to get all the user names from a different sever. I have triple-nested ListView controls on my asp.net page, each nested within another. I use the OnItemDataBound event in the 1st ListView to set the DataSource of the 2nd level ListView. The 3rd ListView is contained in the of the 2nd ListView. I want to assign the same DataSource to both the 2nd and 3rd level ListView datasource controls, but I cannot figure out how to access the 3rd level ListView in order to do that.

The level1_ItemDataBound method finds the level2 control, casts it as a ListView, sets its DataSource and executes the DataBind. At this point I'm stuck trying to get Level3.DataSource to be set to the same as Level2.DataSource.

I have another 6-8 fields for the same listview. Due to the amount of fields, some of the field heads are wrapping and are not following the center alignment.
Is there a way I can center align the fields?Also, my listview does not sort. Is there something I am missing here?
I have a Listview control that DataBind programatically... ie I am NOT using SqlDataSource or such... I am attempting to sort a column... clicking on a link button that fires the "Sorting" event. So, after cliking on the column heading... I end up in this routine, where I hardcoded the .Sort = values (just for testing). The code is executed... but the RESULT show via Listview remains the SAME. No change!
How to fix this? I've seen some other posts examples that uses this event (ListView1_Sorting) and then sort via LINQ. I am not ready to try that...
Just want to know why dsPaymentList.Tables[0].DefaultView.Sort does not work?

I don't want to use reflection, I want to assign it in the ItemDataBound event of my listview. I've done this before, but with datatables. The code will be something like DataRow dr = (e.item.DataItem as DataRowView).Row. You can then access specific columns with
dr["ColumnNamehere"].ToString().
But how do you do this with MembershipUserCollection?

I am trying to do this with many issues of data binding doubling the amount and not setting selectedValue on dropdownlist. I have read some posts and they help but I am missing a crucial piece. My problem is that my dropdownlist is doubling the amount of records for the dropdownlist. Instead of "YES;NO;SELECT A VALUE", I am getting "YES;NO;SELECT A VALUE;YES;NO;YES;NO". My database is correct with the UPDATE part but the rebind after update is failing horribly.
