Jan 21, 2011
How to create remember me checkbox to remmber session until userlogout ..?if user directly close their browser without logout then next tiem they open browser its session will be maintained as it is till they logout from session .
i was trying to save a checkbox value in session and display it in a new page.all other information i saved in session are textbox values. they are displayed correctly. but the checkbox value remain false for some reason. the form i made can send emails to user. checkbox value in the email is correct.
If I want to use a CheckBox control to set a parameter and pass it to another page in session, should my code behind look like this?
[Code]....
OpenYearRound is the ID attribute of the CheckBox control. Is there a smarter way to do this? What would my code behind look like for a CheckBoxList control? Something like this?
[Code]....
How would I retrieve those values from the session? Like this?
I have data in my database and I want one column of the database to be shown as a ckeckbox so the user can select and deselect it.
The colums in my database is called "sendEmail", The values are stored as a "int" with values of 1 and 0. How do I show the value of 1 as checked and the value of 0 as unchecked in a gridview.
I use asp.net default membership provider. in my register.aspx page i use a CreateUserWizard to create new user. in this wizard i want to create a custom step in first step to show the user some roles with a checkBox if user check it mean he agree with the roles and can create account.
i create the step and i put the some text and a checkBox in it. the problem is i don't know how to get the value of checkBox and how active the next button in first Step of my wizard.
is there a way to create a new session if it has timed out ? in mobile appication developing using asp.net?getting this error:the page requires session state that is no longer available. either the session has expired, the client did not send a valid session cookie, or the session state history size is too small. try increasing the history size or session expiry limit
i would like to know if i could create a session base on an hyperlink i do not want to pass param to the page i wanted to create a session base on a hyper link comming from a gridview.
this page would normaly populated when the user logon however i wanted the some oneelse to access this page like the orginal user would except that he would not log on but the page would see the session as if it was the user. click event i am using aspx:hyperl
I'm building an application using MVC3 RC and I'm trying to add a session variable as soon as anyone logs on. The variable is an int which is retrieved from a database using User.Identity.Name to retrieve the relevant database record.
I'm using the MS AccountController and tried adding the session variable immediately after the line:
I have created custom a MembershipProvider, SessionIDManager, and SessionStateStore since I need to use custom legacy sessions and logins.. When the Application is ran, it runs the GetSessionID in the SessionIDManager(which is correct) The problem then is if there is no session meaning the GetSessionID method returns null, it tries to create a new session using CreateSessionID.. I want it to redirect to the login application(another application). We only create and store session information for logged in users and the "session id numbers" come from a file that is pre-populated with "session id numbers"(I didnt design this and its out of my control).. So its not feasable to give everyone who visits the site one of the "session id" numbers. I also need for users with an "invalid" session(when checked through Validate()) to be redirected to the login page.
I want to be able to create a style sheet at session startup (based on a large number of variables... this sheet must be created on the fly and can not be hard coded). At the moment i can set up styles and apply them to controls using the VS designer (html behind of a page). But i need to be able to create these styles at runtime because they will differ for each session. The names of the styles may not differ, but the elements inside the style will be changing.
I figured that one thing i could do is create a css file using System.IO to create the file and then use that to apply (but even then, im not sure how i go from creating the file to including it in the project at runtime), but is there an easier way?
is it possible to create a new Session Id using C# and without using a Response.Redirect(...Page ... ). I want to create a new session Id on page load.
Reasons for doing so:
I have a testing application that creates IFrames to act as users. the problem I have is that with Multiple Instances (or Multiple IFrames running the same application "Default.aspx") all IFrame's are using the Same Session ID. I have variables stored in the Session ID that I need to be seperated from IFrame to IFrame. Ex:
IFrame 1 gets passed a query string of a client ID "1" IFrame 2 gets passed a query string of client ID "2"
WHen the IFrame 2 gets loaded the session state of IFrame 1 inherits the IFrame 2's session's making the Client ID in Session 1 = "2". See what I am getting at?
I want to be able to have each IFrame create its own Session State. I guess there is 2 questions to this, 1.) is it possible to create a new Session State by abandoning the original and by doing so will that abandon both session ID's and just create an ID for both IFrames being the same ID? 2.) How can I do this if it is possible :-)
