I've got a rather difficult one here. I have a JavaScript jquery toggle button inside an update panel. Right now i'm using <form body="onload"> to recall this javascript to re-apply the button state after each partial postback. It works, but it requires two clicks sometimes.
The problem is... after a few clicks, it is significantly slowing down the PC, and I can see the clicks trailing half a second to nearly a second. If I have a group of buttons, all those click events are just catching up to my clicks. It is rather amusing but I suppose it has to do with the fact that the postback is calling the <body onload=" event> each time after the button is clicked.
I have a webpage containing a link to open modal popup
In that web page i there is a label where i want to get the value from modal popup.
Suppose in modal popup i have text box and button when i worte any thing in that text box and submitting that text by popup button then entered text will be appear on the label of webpage.
The following is not working (does a full postback). Note: HTML tags inside updatepanel. We can' t have HTML tags inside updatepanel? If so, what's the work around?
I have a web page, where I'm using a jQuery UI datepicker on an asp.net textbox, which is located inside an UpdatePanel. Here is a description of what I do roughly
When I first load the page, everything works fine. When clicking inside the textbox, the datepicker pops up. But when I click the button, and an async postback is executed, the datepicker no longer pops up, when I click the field again.I know that the problem is because the UpdatePanel completely replaces all the contained HTML when it is updated, so in effect, it is a new text field, which has not been initialized with the datepicker functionality.
I guess that I should not use $(document).ready() here to initialize my datepickers, but where is a good place to place the initialization code? Or is there a way that I can retrigger the initialization code after an AJAX update?
Really the title explains it. When i have an HTML Editor (from the AJAX Control Toolkit) inside an UpdatePanel, i get the error message: "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Invalid set operation on read-only property"
I was looking online and it appears it's because the editor uses javascript - is there any workaround for this?
I think I need to drop in some escape characters, but I'm not quite sure where. Here is the javascript function I'm attempting to call:
function setData(associateValue, reviewDateValue) { var associate = document.getElementById("Associate"); var reviewDate = document.getElementById("ReviewDate"); associate.value = associateValue; reviewDate.value = reviewDateValue; }
Here is the asp .net mvc line where I'm attempting to create a Radio button with a click event that calls the above function and passes data from the model as javascript parameter values.
<%= Html.RadioButton("Selected", item.Selected, new { onClick="setData('<%=item.Associate%>','<%=item.ReviewDate%>' )" } )%>
The above throws a bunch of compile issues and doesn't work. A call such as the following does call the javascript, but doesn't get the data from the model.
The javascript generated by the asp.net SciptManager control seems to have a bug and cant handle hidden UpdatePanels. A javascript error is thrown when a control within one updated panel tries to make another update panel visible. Is this a bug with ASP.Net ajax? And does anyone have any ideas how to get around this? heres is an example of what im trying to do
this is the javascript error that gets thrown when clicking on the "LinkButton1" link. This error comes from the javascript that is generated by the asp.net ScriptManager control
Error: Sys.InvalidOperationException: Could not find UpdatePanel with ID 'ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_UpdatePanel2'
I have a rquirement thay in grdivew need to show the 2 custom ads and 3 google ads, so i have written an user control and inside that using the adsense script, and binding the gridview manually with 2 custom ads and then calling the user control with few functionality. But i have used ajax to ignore the post back So while clikging on paging the google ads are not loading as they are loading from javascript.I came to know that we cannot call javascript inside updaetpanel means Ajax, this is an urgent requirement for me,
I have a webform which has a textbox called "Branch ID" and onblur of that textbox it shows "Spinner wheel" animation after the field and checks the Branch ID in table for existence using Ajax call and Ajax call returns the text if its available or not and after finishing ajax call it hides the animation. Since I've put update panel before the textbox my jquery code which hide/unhide the spinner animation is not working. here is the code
ASPX
[Code]....
Here is the WebService Code
[Code]....
Now how to hide the animation as jQuery not working inside update panel.
I've a dropdown and a listview inside an updatepanel (Master/Child relationship) so based on value selected in dropdown the listview gets populated. The Listview allow user to perform Edit/Insert/delete of records. I have to implement a scenario when a user is editing/inserting a record and if he tries to navigate away/change the value in dropdown he should be prompted to save the data and if he choose yes in JS Confirm Dialogue then the currently edited/inserting record should be saved (for which i'm trying to mimic the click of the update/insert button using js). I've attached change eventhandler of dropdown using JQuery which is getting called properly bind. [Code]....
This code gets bind using Sys.Application.add_load(saveChanges); I also tried the following Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_initializeRequest(saveChanges);Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest(saveChanges). The eventhandler gets called correctly but the click() doesn't work! Also the reason I'm calling click() method of button is to perform the validations via RequireValidator/RangeValidators.
I am trying to add some JQuery animations before and after every postback request is made inside my UpdatePanel. What I have so far is something like this:
<script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest(EndRequestHandler); Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_beginRequest(BeginRequestHandler); function EndRequestHandler(sender, args) { if (args.get_error() == undefined) { // End Request (1) } } function BeginRequestHandler(sender, args) { // Start Request (2) } $('.MyButtons').live('click', function () { // Before request (3) }); }); </script> <asp:UpdatePanel runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:Button runat="server" CssClass="MyButtons"/> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel>
Let say I want to put some animation code at (3) that will be executed and then proceed with BeginRequestHandler function. How should I do that? Because right now the whole process executes 3,2,1 and I dn't know how to add that delay between steps 3 and 2. In other words I want to execute step 2 manually at step 3. Don't really want to use hidden buttons to do that.
I'm pointing a jquery selector towards a dropdownlist inside an UpdatePanel. It interacts just fine with the $("#<%= DropDownList1.ClientID %>").change("Do something");
but, when the Dropdownlist postsbacks (it needs to do it, and that's why it's inside the updatepanel) my script suddently stops to work.
I am having trouble with getting the Jscroller2 too work inside an updatepanel after I have added a marquee as a newsbanner. - (The marquee is running outside the updatepanel)Beforer the marquee was present I could trigger the JavaScript with:
[Code]....
Now the Jscroller2 only works when the page is loading the first time and not after the updatepanel has updated. So my question is how do I get the Javascript to fire after the updatepanel have updated when a marquee is present?
I have a asp.net listbox server control that is connected to a jquery plugin that can handle a client side click event for each of the checkboxes it renders.
Whenever I click on a checkbox the click event gets triggered and I make a call to
__doPostBack("UpdatePanel1", ""); so that i can update the updatepanel and rebind the checkboxlist inside it.
is it possible to do the rebind first, and then update the updatepanel? how do i do that? because now, the rebind happens on the second time i click on the checkbox.
So, I have a MasterPage, in which I have an ImageButton and an UpdatePanel. Inside the UpdatePanel I have a LinkButton.
[Code]....
As you can see, both components are asociated to the same OnClick event, which should open said PDF document in a new window using javascript (Code Behind of the MasterPage):
[Code]....
I build the path using the toolTip of the component that has been clicked, which has the name of the file that should load in the
new window.
When I run the application, and click the ImageButton, the new window opens and the file loads correctly. However, when I click the LinkButton, nothing happens (it should do exactly the same as the ImageButton).
If I set a breakpoint, and debug, when I click the LinkButton, it goes to the LnkRelease1 event (as it should), everything looks fine, but it doesnt open the new window, It doesn't execute the javascript window.open.
i have one master page and the ContentPlaceHolder that are inside UpdatePanel. I have too, buttons in master page thad feed the ContentPlaceHolder e update the UpdatePanel. When i click on any master page button, it load one UserControl inside ContentPlaceHolder. But inside one of this UserControls have a Button, that when i click on, it dont fire the click event.
MasterPage code:
[Code]....
Code that load UserControl inside ContentPlaceHolder
[Code]....
Code that contains the button that dont fire:
[Code]....
Obs: I tried sign dynamically the button, but dont works. And when i click on button, the unload method of UserControl begin called.
I have used jquery plugin for multiselect dropdown from the [URL] .... and when I submit the page It show nothing selected when post back from server What should I do ?
I have a some data which is displayed in div body now i want to import that div content in excel format so how can i do this using javascript/jquery or even c#
which returns <div>here</div><script language=javascript>alert('');</script> The content gets loaded property, but no alert. How would I get a javascript routine to work from an ajax call along with posting the HTML code?
Is it possible to update an UpdatePanel manually using JavaScript or jQuery?
What I have is a TextBox at the top of my page. When a user leaves that TextBox I want to run some server code (it will add a record to my database) then at the bottom of the page I have an UpdatePanel which will get refreshed. The UpdatePanel has a GridView which will have an entry for the record added)
