How to find whether a user has enabled or disabled JavaScript in the browser or the browser does not support JavaScript?
View 5 RepliesSo far, I've seen (and I'm using the following) scripts to show/hide a div or other controls depending on another control in ASP.NET
$('[id$=myRadio_0]').click(function() { $('[id$=myDiv]').show(); });
$('[id$=myRadio_1]').click(function() { $('[id$=myDiv]').hide(); });
and of course, my div in html like
<div id="myDiv" runat="server" visible="false">
and that works fine when the user selects either option of the radiobuttonlist. However, when I assign that radiobuttonlist a value of 1 or yes on my Page_Load on code behind, that isn't (and probably can't be) caught by jQuery, and my div remains invisible even though the control has a value of Yes/1. So, do I need to set the visibility of that div from code behind, or is there a way in jQuery to force a scan of these dependencies after i've set the values for the main controls in code behind?
Disabled buttons look enabled in Firefox and Chrome. I opened the same page in ie, firefox, chrome and this is the output:
"DashBoard" and "Calendar" are disabled
"Agent Info" is enabled.
Here I'm using normal asp buttons with css.What do I do?
i have a usercontrol say "abc" in a page, in that page only i have a button to edit.In edit_Click i can not find abc.Enabled=false;how to Enable or Disable the user control
View 2 RepliesI've got a bit of a problem UpdatePanelAnimationExtenders. Here's an example of the code structure I have:
[Code]....
Now here's my problem. When dd1 triggers the postback both dd1 and dd2 get disabled (instead of just dd1) and after the request is complete only dd1 gets enabled back. The behaviour is also true the other way around (if dd2 triggers the postback both dropdowns get disabled but only dd2 gets enabled back). I'm not really sure what to make of this.
I'm opening new window from Code Behind for that I'm using Code :
Dim newWin As String = ("<script language='javascript'>" + "window.open('msgstat.aspx' , 'Print', 'height=200, width=220, menubar=no, toolbar=no, scrollbars=no, resizable=no'); </script>")
ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(Me.GetType(), "pop", newWin)
Now, how can I check from codebehind that Browser's Popup Blocker is enabled or Disabled and show such message.
using ASP.NET 2.0 VB.NET how to detect if the session cookies are enabled?
I know how to detect the cookies in general but you can set IE to block the cookies and accept the session cookies...How to detect this?
I have an asp.net ajax enabled form that looks like this:
[Code]....
[Code]....
As you can see in the OnPreRender event, the Save button gets enabled or disabled depending on whether the datagrid is in edit mode or not. When I step in the code, it operates correctly in the code, but it does not get reflected correctly on the screen. That is, even when btnSave.Enabled set to true in the code, the browser displays the disabled button. Any idea why this might be happening?
I need to redirect to another page when the client script is disabled on the browser.
View 2 RepliesJust wondered how to enable/disable "log in" button on a login control based on if User Name and Password textboxes are null or not ?
View 1 RepliesDisabled LinkButton controls with Enabled="false" still render onclick event handler
View 6 RepliesI already know this solution. (transfer the slow loading page to a loading-interim-page which shows the animation and then redirects to the actual page)But I would really like to solve this without a redirecting page.
View 2 RepliesI have an image control that puts user's photo in it. Once it's loaded, I resize it using the javascript.But the thing is, when the page is loading, the image gets really big, then shrinks down being called by the javascript. Is there a way for me to pre-load the image before displaying it? I do'nt want to set the image control's width and height to fixed pixels at this point.
View 8 RepliesI have seen few website where their home page is too big and when user scroll down to read the content the of the page then few area of that page load dynamically. how they design their page. as example the site is http://blog.rainbird.me/ where you can see the effect. please give me idea to achieve it via jquery & ajax.
View 3 RepliesSo imagine a piece of Javascript as the first script on a page along the lines of
var MySuperObject = new (function () {
this.SuperObjectInit();
})();
Now imagine that everything that proceeds this script (or a large portion therein) requires the SuperObject to have met its load conditions and loaded correctly.
Assuming for whatever reason the loading of the object fails I need to abort loading the rest of the page and the scripts in particular.
I know the majority of you are going to scream why not have your function issue a callback onSuccess and onFailed but the problem is this is in a ASP.Net project with masterpages, nestedmasterpages, usercontrols and so forth (each of which have their own dependencies and scripts); rendering such an approach problematic.
The other option (I assume) is to use window.location = "myErrorPage.html"; but I dont like the idea of having to create another page for an error message or the fact that it causes a redirect.
What I am hoping to do is something along the lines of
StopLoadingPage();
document.write("Error has occurred");
I have a website with a menu, when menu item is clicked I display the page for that menu in an iframe(iframe is set to display home page initially by default). sometimes it could take few seconds to display the page for the selected menu item (for example reports) and I would like to display a loading image while the page is loading. how to do this using javascript or jQuery
View 3 Replieswe are working on one of our site which is having lots of javascript code.but while testing one of our tester has disabled javascript in browser.so in this scenario javascript code is not working properly. View 1 RepliesIm currently trying to use a jQuery plugin:jQuery Autocomplete TokenizerNow after posting back the page, I want to re-load the values back into the textbox for whatever items had been entered.Now the jQuery on the page is like below:
$(document).ready(function () {
$("#<%=txtPeople.ClientID %>").tokenInput("Handler.ashx", {
hintText: "Type in a name",
noResultsText: "No results",
searchingText: "Searching...",
[code]...
Old hand at ASP.NET, new to the UpdatePanel. I have a reporting page which executes a fairly length SQL query... takes about 10 seconds right now. What I would like to do is have my page fully render, with some placeholder text (Loading...) and then have the UpdatePanel kick off the actual time-consuming reporting process and render the report when it's done.
So... my theory is to use RegisterStartupScript() to kick this off and drop the string from GetPostBackEventReference() to trigger the UpdatePanel update. Some problems crop up:
1) Can I actually use GetPostBackEventReference w/ the UpdatePanel or do I need to trigger it some other way? Use this method on a button inside the Update Panel?
2) What event gets triggered when the postback reference is the UpdatePanel? It's not clear to me. I've got to call my databinding code somewhere! Again, maybe I need to use a button inside?
We have installed a web site written by others which is compiled with Visual Studio 2008 and hosted in Windows server 2008 R2.
The IIS connection timeout is set to 120 seconds. But for some pages, the first page loading fails with HTTP 404 error but sequential refresh can bring the page up. The same problem happens for some images which fail to load in web pages. We are not very sure it is network related issue or hosting issue.
I would like to objectively measure the connection speed and quality beetween few hosts in one country and a server located in the other country.
Server has disabled pings.
i have a menu in my master page, which shows up on all pages. the menu consists of linkbuttons, which don't work when javascript is disabled.
how do i work around it? how common is it that someone's javascript is disabled anyway?
My application depends on JavaScript, I want to check the client browser's JavaScript is enabled or not and raise an alert message if its turned off.
