AJAX :: If Dd2 Triggers The Postback Both Dropdowns Get Disabled But Only Dd2 Gets Enabled Back
Mar 8, 2010
I've got a bit of a problem UpdatePanelAnimationExtenders. Here's an example of the code structure I have:
[Code]....
Now here's my problem. When dd1 triggers the postback both dd1 and dd2 get disabled (instead of just dd1) and after the request is complete only dd1 gets enabled back. The behaviour is also true the other way around (if dd2 triggers the postback both dropdowns get disabled but only dd2 gets enabled back). I'm not really sure what to make of this.
So far, I've seen (and I'm using the following) scripts to show/hide a div or other controls depending on another control in ASP.NET
$('[id$=myRadio_0]').click(function() { $('[id$=myDiv]').show(); }); $('[id$=myRadio_1]').click(function() { $('[id$=myDiv]').hide(); }); and of course, my div in html like <div id="myDiv" runat="server" visible="false">
and that works fine when the user selects either option of the radiobuttonlist. However, when I assign that radiobuttonlist a value of 1 or yes on my Page_Load on code behind, that isn't (and probably can't be) caught by jQuery, and my div remains invisible even though the control has a value of Yes/1. So, do I need to set the visibility of that div from code behind, or is there a way in jQuery to force a scan of these dependencies after i've set the values for the main controls in code behind?
I have an asp.net ajax enabled form that looks like this:
[Code]....
[Code]....
As you can see in the OnPreRender event, the Save button gets enabled or disabled depending on whether the datagrid is in edit mode or not. When I step in the code, it operates correctly in the code, but it does not get reflected correctly on the screen. That is, even when btnSave.Enabled set to true in the code, the browser displays the disabled button. Any idea why this might be happening?
I have a control which inherits from LinkButton and I'm trying to make sure that the user cannot cause mayhem by performing multiple postbacks. That seemed an easy enough challenge, so I have this code [snippet] on the client:
[Code]....
The alert is of course only there for debugging. If the DisableOnClick value is false, then I see the "Posting Back" alert and, when I click ok, the postback occurs - all good.
If the DisableOnClick value is true, then the "button" gets disabled and the cursor turns into an hourglass - again good. But the postback doesn't happen - not good. I assume that the ASP client code is trying to preventing the postback when it sees that the link is disabled.
So, how can I either:
Persuade the LinkButton to postback even though it has just been disabled; or[probably better] Get my client code to execute immediately after the postback code rather than before.
I have three cascading dropdowns on my web page and they work fine. The issue I am facing is that there are other controls on the page which cause a postback and with each postback the cascading drop downs are being re-populated (service methods are called) which is becoming a performnace issue.
How to avoid Model popup disabled on postback? I have a dropdown list in model popup control with autopost back="true". On post back am getting customer name. But on post model popup get disabled
i have a usercontrol say "abc" in a page, in that page only i have a button to edit.In edit_Click i can not find abc.Enabled=false;how to Enable or Disable the user control
I have created a user control which has a form and 2 buttons; Save and Submit. Both buttons are created at design time. Users can enter details in the form (e.g. title and description of an item) and click Save which does some server-side processing to create an 'Item' then clears the form.
The buttons:
[Code]....
[Code]....
And a placeholder to add dynamically created controls:
[Code]....
I am saving the Items in ViewState and dynamically creating a LinkButton control for each Item which allows the user to edit the item:
[Code]....
[Code]....
Now, when I test this in Visual Studio 2010, it works fine;
1. Enter Item title and description in form
2. Click Save
3. Save button triggers postback and onClick event code is run
4. ViewState list is displayed below the form
When I create a local IIS web site for testing, the postback on the Save button only works the first time I click it. Postback is false on the second click and the page reloads without running the onClick event code.
This is quite simple. When I press btn1, it sets correctly the Session Key. And this is then the issue arrives: When I press one of these buttons, this is the sequence of what happens:
So, everytime there is a PostBack, even before the Page loads, the session starts and generates a new Id. This way, I loose everything during the PostBack. My Session State configuration:
[Code]....
This is running on VS 2010 + V3.5, on IIS5.1. The Page header configuration is default.
I am using .net 3.5 framework. I have a Tabcontainer inside that I have place asp.net fileupload control which is inside update panel. It's been known fact that fileupload control does not work under update panel unless we use Postback Triggers.
I have an AsyncFileUpload with an image control to show a preview of the pic that is uploaded. Everything works fine, however on the postback from the asynchFileUpload the page jumps to the top of the page and then after a second or two it goes down to the proper scroll position. What can I do to avoid having the page jump to the top and then back down again on the postback ?
but when I click on image button below error happen:Invalid postback or callback argument. I'm reading an invoice dataset and building a html table with checkboxes and textboxes in it, and I put that code in a postback = false block, then i got a button and a literal. The button click will loop through the html table checkboxes to calculate a total and assign it to the literal and display it. I got everything working except one thing, every time i click the button, the html table refreshes and lost all the value in textboxes....even though I put the html building block in the postback = false block,it seems like it still won't preserve the values in the textboxes once there's a button click...Anybody knows a solution to that? I want the textboxes keep what values are there.
I have a simple question - I use update panel with custom server control inside. I call __doPostBack from javascript and RaisePostBackEvent on the server fires (I implement IPostBackEventHandler). This is client to server call. Could I return data back to the client (after this partial postback)? What is the best way to achieve this?
Within an ASP.NET AJAX UpdatePanel on my page I have a submit button which has some custom javascript validation applied which set a global _cancelGeneralSettingsUpdate flag depending on the results of the validation. In this case the variable _cancelGeneralSettingsUpdate is correctly set to false but the initializeRequest function is not called before the page attempts to postback via AJAX, causing the postback to fail. I need to be able to have postbacks succeed once the invalid input has been corrected and the user clicks the submit button again. Unfortunately I do not seem to be properly wired into the PageRequestManager pipeline once postback has been cancelled. If I refresh the page, everything works again, but cancelling the postback via args.set_cancel(true)
In an ASP.NET 3.5 website we are noticing that the back button is not working properly. If the user does several postbacks (say 10 times), and than starts pressing back button - the back button gets disabled before the user gets through all the pages. The site does not use AJAX.net.
I can reproduce the issue on IE 7 and 8 almost always. The problem seems to be with some sort of limit IE has on History Cache for a given tab/instance. In the tests I did the post request to the server are large - around 83k, and the responses are are round 300k. It seems that with these request sizes the history does not hold more than 4 items. The moment I get to the 5 post, the first item i had selected is dropped.
I am using panel to hide and display certain controls on a page, On one of my panel i have three drop down, all i want is to make sure that user has selected something from the dropdowns otherwise they cant proceed, i am using the requiredfield validator but its just not working
