Control Initial Enabled State For Dependant Controls That Are Enabled / Disabled By JQuery?

Jan 3, 2010

So far, I've seen (and I'm using the following) scripts to show/hide a div or other controls depending on another control in ASP.NET

$('[id$=myRadio_0]').click(function() { $('[id$=myDiv]').show(); });
$('[id$=myRadio_1]').click(function() { $('[id$=myDiv]').hide(); });
and of course, my div in html like
<div id="myDiv" runat="server" visible="false">

and that works fine when the user selects either option of the radiobuttonlist. However, when I assign that radiobuttonlist a value of 1 or yes on my Page_Load on code behind, that isn't (and probably can't be) caught by jQuery, and my div remains invisible even though the control has a value of Yes/1. So, do I need to set the visibility of that div from code behind, or is there a way in jQuery to force a scan of these dependencies after i've set the values for the main controls in code behind?

AJAX :: If Dd2 Triggers The Postback Both Dropdowns Get Disabled But Only Dd2 Gets Enabled Back

I've got a bit of a problem UpdatePanelAnimationExtenders. Here's an example of the code structure I have:

[Code]....

Now here's my problem. When dd1 triggers the postback both dd1 and dd2 get disabled (instead of just dd1) and after the request is complete only dd1 gets enabled back. The behaviour is also true the other way around (if dd2 triggers the postback both dropdowns get disabled but only dd2 gets enabled back). I'm not really sure what to make of this.

I would like to, rather than have the default font color and background color, change the font color to something like blue and maybe a yello background color. I tried the css style below but that did not change the default setting.

.rcbDisabled { background-color:

AJAX :: Save Button Enabled / Disabled State Not Refreshed On Screen?

Feb 28, 2011

I have an asp.net ajax enabled form that looks like this:

[Code]....

[Code]....

As you can see in the OnPreRender event, the Save button gets enabled or disabled depending on whether the datagrid is in edit mode or not. When I step in the code, it operates correctly in the code, but it does not get reflected correctly on the screen. That is, even when btnSave.Enabled set to true in the code, the browser displays the disabled button. Any idea why this might be happening?

Changing The Default Appearance Of Disabled Buttons?

Feb 22, 2010

The application Im working on has a navigation menu that uses buttons that are pure black with no edges. This means that it is quite hard to tell if a button is disabled or not, based on the standard changes to a disabled button. Is there any way to change the appearance of the buttons when they become disabled; changing the background color, for example? If so, how do I go about it?

JavaScript Not Working In Firefox Or Chrome?

Mar 22, 2009

I am transferring an array from my code behind to my jvascript on my .aspx page, where I read values from the array to be used in my function. Everything workd perfectly fine in IE, but it is not working in FF or Ch.

This is what I have:

var LatVal =
'<%=LatarrValue%>';
var LatArray = LatVal.split(",");
var LngVal =
'<%=LngarrValue%>';
var LngArray = LngVal.split(",");
var InfoWindowVal =
'<%=InfoWindowValue%>';
var InfoWindowArray = InfoWindowVal.split("*");
var point = ge.createPoint('');
var Jlat=LatArray[i];
var Jlng=LngArray[i];
point.setLatitude(Jlat);
point.setLongitude(Jlng);

I think there is something wrong with my array declarations.

Differences Between IE / Chrome / Firefox / Opera

May 11, 2009

I just finished a rather simple web page that looked good in IE7. When I checked it in other non MS browsers some of the vertical alignments were off. I found some CSS code to a CSS reset but all that did was disable the horizontal centering and leave the vertical components still messed up.

Has anyone come up with a relatively simple way to ensure that CSS code acts relatively the same between browsers yet?

If not, what is the best way for me tomake sure my code is compatible between browsers?

If needed I can paste code and screens snaps but first I just want to see if I can fix ti myself.

I know this question has been asked before but it looks like the answers I found are either way outdated or just plain confusing with different responders arguing about what to do rather than posting understandable fixes.

Web Forms :: Change To 4.0 Causes All Disabled Buttons To Lose Their Theme?

Mar 8, 2011

We have a problem on a new server where disabling a themed button loses its theme. This happens consistently on all buttons now.

We just switched to a new iis server 7.5 using asp.net framework 4.0

Before, the buttons through out the website have a nice style/theme. These are not set inside each button and there are no classes set specifically for buttons I dont think but I believe inherit the theme from I believe the web.config in either:

All the buttons did display a nice light blue gradient, and when disabled they go a few shades lighter blue

For some reason now in .net framework 4.0 all disabled buttons seem to lose their theme and become the default grey color. Enabling them again brings its theme back

why the disabled button would look different now?

Html - .net Site Looks Completely Different On IE, Firefox, And Chrome?

Jun 14, 2010

I'm doing css for a website. I send the html and css to a guy, he puts it into ASP.net. The problem is that the transfer didn't end well for my code and it needs some fixing. The problem is that when I look at it in Chrome, or Firefox, or IE8, I get three completely different renderings. I spent a good amount of time trying to fix a drop-down menu that is supposed to appear while hovering over a link. The one he had in place from ASP.net worked in IE, kinda worked in Firefox, and was completely broken in Chrome (I haven't tested Safari or Opera.) Just getting it to look basically the same in firefox and chrome was a struggle. The html source is showing me two completely different pages as well.

Does anyone have experience with this? I know nothing of ASP.net, and it seems like the guy is modifying my layout with a wsyiwyg (I found tables used in random places, which I did not put there.) Faced with this, what is my best option? Is this fixable, or am I in over my head?

JQuery Datepicker Only Works In IE8 (no Firefox, No Chrome For Me)?

Jan 11, 2010

Ok so I'm not very familiar with Jquery as to know the possible cause of this, but I've been assigned to find out why the datepicker doesn't work porperly on a client's computer (it prints out the date without slashes like this: 24112008

So when I test the webform, I see it doesnt even pop up in Firefox (the client's browser too) nor chrome, only in IE8.

In the scriptManager we have:

<script src="http://www.website.com/Script/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="http://www.website.com/Script/jquery-ui.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="http://www.website.com/Script/jquery-ui-i18n.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

and in the webform:

$(function pageLoad(sender, args) {
// Datepicker
$.datepicker.setDefaults($.extend({ showMonthAfterYear: false }, $.datepicker.regional['']));
$(".dates").datepicker($.datepicker.regional['es']);
});

The textbox that uses it goes like this:

<asp:TextBox ID="txtFeNac" CssClass="dates" style="margin-left: 7px" runat="server" ></asp:TextBox>

I use Response.BinaryWrite to display this picture.

Unfortunately it works only in Internet Explorer. In Firefox and Chrome it shows long text of strange symbols.

What's wrong with BinaryWrite? How to solve this?

I may not say to asp:Image to show this picture, I may not indicate ImageURL, becouse there's no URL. This picture is response from webrequest. And webrequest may not be indicated in URL because I set some parameters not in QueryString but in post data.

Web Forms :: Webpage Has Expired Only In IE Not Chrome Or FireFox?

Jan 14, 2011

I have an interesting issue. I made some changes to an existing code base. The changes were fairly minor in the aspect of the pages, I added an UpdatePanel and some input areas to upload a file and update a database to the site master. The reason I add it to the site master was it is being called to display via jQuery. I made some additional code changes on some existing code behind to add a web method to handle the data from another jQuery driven piece to set a value for a particular billing code.

None of this is out of the ordinary and in fact it only adds additional similar functionality that I have added over the last 9 months. The issue now is since I made the changes using the browser back button in IE generates the following:

Webpage has expired

This only occurs with IE. Chrome and FireFox works fine. Thinking it maybe the new input boxes I removed those and attempted to run the application again I get the same result. I know that IE requires a refresh if there is data that is submitted on the form that you are trying to go back to, however so does Chrome and Firefox as far as I know.

C# - Password Regex Works In Chrome And Firefox But Not IE7?

Jan 13, 2011

The following regular expression works in chrome and firefox, but not IE7:

^((?=.*d)(?=.*[a-z])(?=.*[A-Z]).{8,20})$

It needs to contain at least 8 characters and have at least on uppercase and a number. When I try this in IE7, I have to type 14 characters for it to validate. Can someone explain why and what would be the correct expression for all 3 browsers.

I am using an asp:RegularExpressionValidator to validate the password.
