Multiple File Inputs / When Post Back Request Files Collection Is Always Empty?
Jan 5, 2011
I am using Asp.net and requirement specifies i use html input to post files to server rather than asp:fileupload.[ Reason : Add more html input file controls similar to CPanel file manager.(i.e) clicking on link adds another file input from which user can select another file*.But when ever i post back Request Files collection is always empty.*
HTML FORM:
<form method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" action="documents.aspx">
<div>
<input type="file" name="attachment" id="attachment" onchange="validate(this)" />
<span class="none">Filename should be within (1-25) letters long. Can Contain only letters
& numbers</span>
<div id="moreUploads">
</div>
<div id="moreUploadsLink" style="display: none;">
<a href="javascript:addFileInput();">Attach another File</a></div>
<input type="submit" id="btnSubmit" />
</div>
</form>
Javascript:
var upload_number = 2;function addFileInput() {
try {
var fileUpload = document.getElementById("attachment");
var elemSpan = nextElement(fileUpload).cloneNode(true);
var elemDiv = document.getElementById("moreUploads");
var d = document.createElement("div");
var file = document.createElement("input");
file.setAttribute("type", "file");
file.setAttribute("id", "attachment" + upload_number);
file.setAttribute("onchange", "validate(this)");
d.appendChild(file);
d.appendChild(elemSpan);
elemDiv.appendChild(d);
upload_number++;
} catch (err) { alert(err);}}
the validate(this) is a function that validates file types on client.When validation succeeds then the link to add more file inputs is enabled. Could someone throw somelight on this.

I'm using a custom ashx handler to handle a file upload. When run locally, the file uploads fine.When I use the same setup on the web server I get a "Index out of range" error.In firebug I see the binary contents of the file in the post data and the file name is also passed in the query string.Any one seen this before?I`m sure its something minor, but its driving me up the wall.

I have an ASP.NET file upload control which sits as part of a form. The file upload control is on the content page while the form definition is on a master page across the site. I've added multipart/form-enc to the form on the master page.I'm using jQuery to submit the form as I show a dialog box from jQuery UI.When I post, no file is returned to the server. The file upload control has no file and HttpFileCollection is empty.

I have 3 drop boxes: 1.) Choose Operation 2.) Choose Site 3.) Choose Area. All three of them are linked to an SQL server database which has 3 tables following the same heiarchy of order. I.e. Areas belong to a Site and Sites belong to an operation. And there can only be one operation per site, or one site per area.
First you select an operation, then the page auto postbacks to filter the sites. Then you pick a site and again it autopostbacks to filter the areas. The issue I am having is that when an associated operation has no sites underneight it, and therefore no areas under that, the previous values that were in the boxes are displayed and the user can't click on the boxes anymore. I think this is kind of cheap looking and would like a way to make it so the boxes are clear (i.e. nothin in them). Is there anyway to check if they are going to freeze like that and assign them blank values?

I'm using the new Aurigma Image Uploader Flash control, and creating sample pages works great. However, when I drop this control onto an existing page on my existing site, it doesn't work. I can only suspect something in the masterpage or something else on the page is messing with it.

I'm using HttpModule to capture requests to the web server. Before processing the page I'd like to check the values contained in some keys of the Request.Form collection and according to some logic change if necessary. I'd like to do this when BeginRequest event is fired. The problem is that the Request.Form collection is readonly.

What I have?I have a ASP.NET page which allows the user to download file a on a button click. User can select the file he wants from a list of available files (RadioButtonList) and clicks on download button to download it. (I should not provide link for each file that can be downloaded - this is the requirement).What I want?I want the user to download multiple files one by one by selecting the required radio button and clicking on the button.What problem am I facing?I can download the file for the first time properly. But, after downloading, if I select some other file and click on the button to download it, click event of the button does not post back and the second file will not be downloaded.I use the follwoing code on the button click event:
protected void btnDownload_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
string viewXml = exporter.Export();
Response.Clear();
Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=views.cov");
Response.AddHeader("Content-Length", viewXml.Length.ToString());
Response.ContentType = "text/plain";
Response.Write(viewXml);
Response.End();
}

Being new to ASP.NET I have run into trouble building my own Whack-a-mole program. I think my problem comes from using Buttons, which by themselves send post backs to the server, making the software unusable. The looks are in place, making new buttons show up in the grid, in different places by random. However, when a button is pushed - the score doesn't change (which I feel is strange).
Not so strange is that the Button doesn't work since it sends post back to the server - reloading the UpdatePanel. I think I should use a different controller like the CheckBox and style it hard using CSS (which isn't a problem). Is this the correct way to go, or should I make use of JavaScript AJAX instead?
Note to self: This technique shouldn't be used in a public application since it put too much unwanted pressure on the web server.

In my code, I cannot use a radiobuttongroup due to formatting constraints. This is a page where the user can update the data. So I have
<asp:TableCell ID="TableCell1" CssClass="answer" runat="server">
<asp:RadioButton ID="PatientYes" GroupName="Patient" runat="server" />
</asp:TableCell>
<asp:TableCell ID="TableCell2" CssClass="answer" runat="server">
<asp:RadioButton ID="PatientNo" GroupName="Patient" runat="server" />
</asp:TableCell>
If I have the case where one button is set when the page is displayed and the user changes to the other value, BOTH are coming back as TRUE. How can I just get the value selected by the user?

I have a web form on a web page like this:
<form method="post" action="http://poston.domain.com/" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input type="hidden" name="function" value="somevalue"> <input type="text" name="username" value="somevalue2"> <input type="text" name="password" value="somevalue3"> <input type="file" name="picture"> <input type="text" name="pictto" value="0"> <input type="submit" value="Send"></form>
I can post all the required data to that form on that page by calling the following function:

I have a button that when clicked, will generate a PDF and write it out to the response.This is the basic structure of the code:
try
{
using(Stream stream = generatePdf())
{
[code]...
Downloading the file works fine, except that it doesn't complete the postback.If I were to throw an exception above file.Transmit, the error handling would work properly and I would see the message get displayed in my browser. However, if there is an exception after the file.Transmit then nothing happens. The user saves/opens the pdf and the page does not reload.How can I make it so that the postback always completes, that way I can display an appropriate message to the user?

Using Vb.Net 2003 Asp.Net 1.1
I have a dynamic data bound drop down list, when the user selects thier selected item I have to use the autopostback feature.
Problem is: when the page comes back it is at the top of the page not where i have the control.
I don't really need it to focus back on the dropdownlist but to scroll to it, I want to do it in the code behind.
Any "New" ways to do it, I mean new as in code from like 2010 instead of old code from the early days.
I really don't want to use Page.Register new Script...... code if I can avoid it.
What would be cool is a ScrollToControl() Function for my code behind that worked but didn't register script.

I know that if I have set a cookie on a previous request, it will show up in my Request.Cookies collection. I want to update my existing Cookie. Are the cookies from my Request.Cookies collection already copied to my Response.Cookies collection? Do I need to add a new cookie with the same key using Response.Cookies.Add(), or do I need to use Response.Cookies.Set()?

I have a very odd and disconcerning problem. Just recently a page where I have 1 textbox and a buttoon has ceased to work.
When I look at the post coming into the PageLoad, the pageType is "POST", but the Page.IsPostBack is false!! and the textbox (which had content) is empty.
I have stripped all AJAX script out, so I have a very vanilla page (in a master page) being served.
The pages is

If it does not exists it needs to show like , Thank You for register with us.. , and after 5 secs it automatically redirect to some other pages...
