I am developing a C#/ASP.NET web application in VS 2008. Currently this page is too tall. The buttons appear on top and then there is a large gap between these buttons and the resultLabel text. The following code is from my ASPX file. I have tried switching to the Design tab of this file and manually moving this label, but there is still a large gap. I'm sure this is simple. How do I correct this?
I'm using sql server2005. One of my database's log file size has reached more than 3GB. Because of this it is creating problems while displaying the site. It shows connection timeout error. How to shrink the database log file. I tried all the shrink File options in the management studio but still it is not shrinking. how to acheive this.
I have an image that I use many times. In several cases I want to shrink its size, but obviously it loses sharpness when I do this in HTML. Is there a way to fix this? The image is located elsewhere and I can't save it locally.
I am having trouble with .rdlc field sizing. Regardless of the table/field size settings in my .rdlc report, the reportviewer always shrinks the fields and table. I have tested everything I can think of, and searched the web for a solution to this problem, but no luck yet.
I have also tried just about every size setting there is and even looked in the output html, but nothing seems to be decreasing the width. I have attached two images. in the first image, I have added a black border around my table, and a red border around one of the fields to demonstrate the auto-shrink issue. the second image shows my vs report settings.
I manage a large asp.net site which has previously been converted from static html site to asp.net. For several reasons (mainly SEO) we decided not to rename all the files to .aspx back when we originally converted the site. This was very easy to do by simply adding the buildProvider and httpHandler to the web.config.
Now I am upgrading the site to use Asp.net WebPages with Razor cshtml files. I can rename all the files if necessary, and use url rewriting to make the urls stay the same, however it would be much easier if I could just configure the web.config to tell it to parse .html files as if they were .cshtml. I have searched around quite a bit, and could not find anything equivalent to the PageHandlerFactory for razor pages. It appears as though it is just an internal mechanism in the .net 4.0 ISAPI handler.
The site is currently running on Windows 2003 server and IIS 6. We will be upgrading to 2008/IIS 7.5 in the near future, but I'd prefer not to wait for that. Is there any way to get the .html files to be parsed by razor as if they were .cshtml files?
I am not sure this is the forums but I dont know where to write this and this is an EMERGENCY ::I had windows 2003 server. on C: and I have installed windows 2008 server.I had SQL server installed and all of the database files stored inside c:program filessql server....PROBLEM is that after I installed 2008 server I can see 2 folders of program files one for x86 and the other for 64 bits.
I have a form with 10 file inputs. They can contain 10 random files with random sizes. If I send these files to ASP.NET server with this code:
var count = HttpContext.Current.Request.Files.Count; var TotalSize = 0; for (int i = 0; i < count; i++ ) { HttpPostedFile postedFile = HttpContext.Current.Request.Files.Get(i); TotalSize += postedFile.ContentLength; }
And as you can see I didn't save the files on the server, will this code just calculate the summary of files without need to receive the whole file from the client (And therefore it would be very fast)?
I am trying to open different types of files that I have uploaded on my sql server database. I would like to display all the list of files in Gridview. When user click the link it should open download dialog box and should be able to open its particular applications such as word, excel, browsers etc.
I have images at the head of the page in an iframe and in the main center page. The image at the head flows over the social icons and the images at the center page resizing drops below and pushes the other image down. I just want the images to resize when the browser is being resized. Go to [URL] .... and you'll see what I mean.
I have an ASP.NET website. This site is fairly complex in the sense that it has all sorts of blurs, gradients and rounded corners. The content of the website is always going to be in the same area, an area within some rounded corners. The content is going to be of a dynamic height. And, I can't show any scrollbars, other than those displayed by the browser window.
The banner is a Flash movie. I want to prevent the page from flickering. Because of this, I want to only update the url of the content portion. My question is, is there a way to do this without significant re-working? I thought an iframe would be suitable, but I can't figure out:
How to make the iframe's height dynamically grow/shrink based on the size of the content Get rid of the borders / scrollbars across the major browsers.
Is what I'm trying possible? Is there a better way to do it?
Part of this tutorial entails setting up a GridView which is bound to the collection of UserAccounts, and then enabling paging on the GridView. There are the usual four links for First, Prev, Next, and Last pages, which should work because I have twelve users defined, and the pagesize of my GridView set to 5. I've set up the code to enable or disable the paging links depending on what section of the entire UserGrid is currently visible.
So when I first run the website and go to the ManageUsers.aspx page, I would expect to see only the first five users in my collection. But it shows all twelve.
I must have overlooked something, but I can't find it in the text and examples.

I have some code that allows users to upload file attachments into a varbinary(max) column in SQL Server from their web browser. It has been working perfectly fine for almost two years, but all of a sudden it stopped working. And it stopped working on only the production database server -- it still works fine on the development server.
I can only conclude that the code is fine and there is something up with the instance of SQL Server itself. But I have no idea how to isolate the problem.
I insert a record into the ATTACHMENT table, only inserting non-binary data like the title and the content type, and then chunk-upload the uploaded file using the following code:
Quick question. When updating aspx.cs files on a virtual dedicated server does it require a restart of the virtual server for the changes to take effect?
downloading files from an FTP server. The FTP server produces new files from time to time. so my application needs to Download only the "NEW" files and disregard what i have already downloaded previously. I have a time stamp on when was the last download time. I Using FtpWebRequest, WebRequestMethods.Ftp.ListDirectory, WebRequestMethods.Ftp.GetDateTimestamp. The problem is the ListDirectory gives me all the List in the FTP directory and i have to loop all the way down starting again from the start to the last file and check it with my last time stamp to DL the NEW files another problem is the FTP Directory contains 30,000 Files so it would take long until ill find the my last download time to start again on that point..
I want to enable the users of my website to download the files from the server, but I can do it only with those files which are inside the website's folder(by creating hyperlinks to those files).
How to enable the users to download files from server which are not in the website's folder but somewhere else on the server.
Brief Description: I want to be able to use my asp.net application to access files on another server used as a file system(storing .pdf, .xls, .doc files etc.). In Depth Description: Right now the web page has a gridview. The gridview has links to documents using paths like \servernamefilename. Our server guys said that this method would be using a CIFS protocol and would not work.
That we would need to set it up so that the application accesses the file through a service account or something. Does this make sense to anyone and can any provide a more in depth explanation. What would we have to change programatically to have our .net application access files on another server?
i write a FileServer Project (For uploading Files and give them to users), it is webapplication, i want to upload files to another server ( i mean another computer), i have its address : (172.16.10.30), so what should i do?
