I had used Calendar control to enter Date. In localhost, when I save the date, it works fine and save the date. But when i had uploaded the application, it gives me error invalid date format. How to get rid of this error?
Format of the initialization string does not conform to specification starting at index 0.

Exception Details: System.ArgumentException: Format of the initialization string does not conform to specification starting at index 0.
In the codes below, I got an error on the 2nd line. The "Connection" string is defined in Web.Config.
What does the Exception Details mean? How to solve the error?
Dim strConn As String = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("Connection").ConnectionString Dim conn As New SqlConnection("strConn") Dim queryString As String = "SELECT CustomerID, CompanyName FROM dbo.Customers" Dim adapter As SqlDataAdapter = New SqlDataAdapter(queryString, conn) Dim customers As DataSet = New DataSet adapter.Fill(customers, "Customers")
Exception Details: System.ArgumentException: Format of the initialization string does not conform to specification starting at index 0.
when I adding for first time it's added successfully but for the second time it raises this error:
Input string was not in a correct format. protected void btn_save_add_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) Line 147: { Line 148: pro.Pro_ID = Convert.ToInt32(txt_prodID_add.Text); Line 149: pro.Pro_Name = txt_prod_name_add.Text; Line 150: pro.CategoryProd_ID = Convert.ToInt32(ddl_ctegOf_Product_add.SelectedValue);
I have an application in asp.net which worked fine untill recently when i changed the datetime format in Regional and Language Settings in Control Panel.The date time format was default when i installed XP. I chose Indian standard time while installing XP.I changed the date time format to dd/MM/yyyy HH:mm:ss. And my application started to throw an exception whenever i tried to insert any datetime in to the table.The exception i get is:System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Error converting data type varchar to datetime.
What I have not been able to accomplish is formatting that XML response so it looks pretty.
I have created an XSLT that formats the XML nicely and have used javascript to transform the XML using the XSLT like this:
function loadXMLDoc(dname) { if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { xhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else { xhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xhttp.open("GET",dname,false); xhttp.send(""); return xhttp.responseXML; } function displayResult() { xml=loadXMLDoc("Report.xml"); xsl=loadXMLDoc("Report.xsl"); // code for IE if (window.ActiveXObject) { ex=xml.transformNode(xsl); document.getElementById("content").innerHTML=ex; } // code for Mozilla, Firefox, Opera, etc. else if (document.implementation && document.implementation.createDocument) { xsltProcessor=new XSLTProcessor(); xsltProcessor.importStylesheet(xsl); resultDocument = xsltProcessor.transformToFragment(xml,document); document.getElementById("content").appendChild(resultDocument); } }
Which works locally but I run up against the cross domain security problem as the web appliance is hardened and I am not able to place any code on it.
I have been searching this site and the web for a couple days looking for a method to accomplish this using other means [asp?] and have been largely unsuccessful. The main reason this is so is that I don't know asp so I'm not sure how to attack it.
I think creating the query string in a form, then loading the resulting xml response from the web appliance to a string and applying the XSLT that resides on the server to it might be an option but haven't been able to make it work; again because I'm not really sure what I'm doing.
I found a way in asp to retrieve remote xml that works for URL's like http://site.com/file.xml but doesnt work for my URL. Maybe because it is a query? I've looked at way to encode/encapsulate my URL but haven't found anything that works.
I am somewhat new to c# so I am unfamiliar with data access. I have used PHP but it is obviously less strict of a language than any form of dot net. With some help I have put together a try/catch sequence that outputs the below error message using a 'sqlex.Message'
Invalid object name 'nwsb_tbUsers'.
I am a bit confused about the error message though because the "tbUsers" table does exist inside of my MDF database that I created it via FTP. Is something wrong with my connection string possibly?
My requirement is, I have one text box and that text box accepts US Format 10 digit phone number like 555-555-5555. I want when user enter 5555555555 it automatically convert this in 555-555-5555 and if he enter some wrong number then show him error and if dont want to enter any thing then there should not be any error.
<th style="width: 150px">Home Telephone </th> <td> <asp:TextBox ID="txtHome" runat="server" MaxLength="12" ValidationGroup="vUserDetailsB" Width="252px" CssClass="txtBox" TabIndex="19"></asp:TextBox> <cc1:MaskedEditExtender ID="meeHome" runat="server" TargetControlID="txtHome" AutoComplete="false" MaskType="None" Mask="999-999-9999" ClearMaskOnLostFocus="true" InputDirection="LeftToRight" /> <%-- <cc1:MaskedEditValidator ID="mevHome" runat="server" ControlToValidate="txtHome" EmptyValueMessage="Telephone Number is required." ValidationGroup="vUserDetailsB" ControlExtender="meeHome" InvalidValueMessage="Valid Telephone Number is required." IsValidEmpty="false" ValidationExpression="^d{3}-d{3}-d{4}$" Font-Size="8pt" />--%> <asp:RegularExpressionValidator ID="revHome" runat="server" ControlToValidate="txtHome" Display="Dynamic" ErrorMessage="Invalid Home number. Number should be in the format: 555-123-4567" Font-Size="8pt" SetFocusOnError="True" ValidationExpression="d{3}-d{3}-d{4}" ValidationGroup="vUserDetailsB" Width="100%" meta:resourcekey="txtHomeResource1"></asp:RegularExpressionValidator> </td>
Whats happenening, If i entered any thing like 5555555555 and it is coverting to this 555-555-5555 format which is correct and then when i moved to another textbox it is throwing error "Invalid Home number. Number should be in the format: 555-123-4567" and this format changes to 5555555555 and its not going ahead.
I have a user control in the sidebar(in my web site) for display title and picture of any of news. his usercontrol in all of the pages is observable. when user click on the picture navigate to the page News.aspx for more details. first time i can but in second time when i click on another picture in the News.aspx i get an error like below:
Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation. but when i reload the page the problem is solved my code is:
Select a from tbl_abc where id in ( select id from tbl_xyz where mainid = 12)
When I am executing this query, it is taking 1-2 seconds to execute, but when I am using the same query in stored procedure, the below query is taking more than 5 minute:
If(Select a from tbl_abc where id in ( select id from tbl_xyz where mainid = 12)) BEGIN -- CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE [Say: #temp1] #temp1 => Select a from tbl_abc where id in ( select id from tbl_xyz where mainid = 12) inserting the same value in the temp table drop #temp1 END
what could be the reason of this? and how can I resolve this? I am running the SP from asp.net
I'm using ASPxPageControl and in each page I have a couple of grids. When Im using Sql Server Profiler each time I change Tab there is a query for each grid in each tab sent to the database. Is it possible not to load data for each grid while changing tabs ?
I have a webpage with 6 drop down lists. User can start with selecting any drop down list first, and then proceed in any order. 1. Assume when the 1st dropdown is selected first, rest 5 drop downs (except 1st) are filtered/updated based on the selected value in the 1st dropdown.2. Assume user selects the 4th dropdown second, rest 5 drop downs (except 4th) will be filtered/updated but the condition would be based on both 1st drop down and 4th drop down. But while filtering the first drop down, only the 4th drop down is used as filter (self-filter will be ignored).
The code works fine but I see a very bad performance hit in time when the user selects the fourth dropdown after selecting three drop downs. I tried using both SQLDataAdapter and SQLDataReader but neither used to solve the issue. The code takes a lot of time on one line in either of the code (which is highlighted below). When I run the query in SQLServer Mgmt Studio, the query completes in a few seconds.
I have 2 fields being displayed in a Gridview, StartTime, EndTime. I want to create a 'Time" column which shows the elapsed time in HH:MM format. (StartTime - EndTime) This was all generated with VS2008, table is pulled from an SQL Query.
I have a simple web form that takes data inputted by a user online but I can't get the date field formatted so it can allow UK short date format to be entered. I need to allow dates to be entered like this: dd/mm/yyyy but currently if I enter the UK format date 25/02/2011 I get an error, as the field is in US format (mm/dd/yyyy).
It's a SQL database created from within MS Visual Web Developer 2010, and I'm a SQL newbie.
How do I change the date format to UK so UK format dates can be accepted?
I'm completely ignorant when it comes to SQL Server, so bear with me. I'm following a tutorial on writing a poll [URL] and when I try to save the Stored Procedure I get "Invalid object name 'dbo.NewPoll'". I'm using Visual Studio 2010 and SQL Server 2008 Express. I'm the systems administrator of my production server, infact I have the "box" downstairs. So I can do any changes and all that. familiar with MySQL, maybe I'm not twigging on to something yet.
