I am creating a video database .. User will upload his video.. I know the path will be store in database and video on hard disk .. How video will upload, path are set, and if possible video is downloaded.. I am not creating online streaming .. Just upload and download ..
I have an entity called a file which is the main part of my project. The file has invoices and timesheets captured against it. So I have a file tab with info about the file, like FileNumber, Vessedl, Voyage etc. Now I need to be able to upload documents for the file. So I will add an uploads tab. But the uploaded documents need to be saved for the specified file the user uploads it for. then when a user opens a file I need to show the documents for that file in a list of some sort. the best way to do this. What's the best way to upload multiple files? should I store all the info in my database?
i've got some problem reading excel files to store into sqlserver database. currently my code has a fileupload control and a button for me to save the excel file into a folder and read the data inside the excel file and write it into the sql database. The code works only if the excel sheet name is Sheet1.xlsx, however i tried upload a diff file named ImportUserFile.xlsx and it gave me the exception below. 'ImportUserFile$' is not a valid name. Make sure that it does not include invalid characters or punctuation and that it is not too long. i have also tried other file names and it seemed only Sheet1.xlsx works.
The website is over half way done and the functionality for the blog is (except for adding posts) is already implemented and working correctlyI have a SQLExpress 2008 backendBlog posts are rendered on the page with full HTML markup within a label control.
All of the above is done and working. Though I am essentially new to creating websites with ASP.NET, CSS and SQL, I am sure that I could simply carry on and make a login page with some controls that would allow me to add records (blog posts) directly to the database on the host server. However, I am fearful of doing this because I know that malicious code can be passed in this way. Also, because of my lack of knowledge, the only way that I know of to pass the code from a control to the database is to disable validation for the page the control is on. Without a doubt I do not want to do that.
So what are my options for getting blog posts into the database? Is it safest for me to fully create the post in html and update a copy of the database that resides on my local machine? If I do it this way, how can I merge the records from the database on the local machine with the records on the remote server?
I m reading a text file line by line. I want to insert those records into database after reading all lines. So, i want to store the files that are read and want to insert after all the lines in the text file are read. So how can I store the read file in the array.? How to declare that array.?
I have some code in my default.apsx.cs file that all works except one very small but important piece.. I have the same code in c# consoleapp and it works fine on my local machine.
Here is the code...
When i try and run it through visual web developer it seems to feel the file doesnt exits so evaluates the if statement to false and moves. on... I havent specified a path and have the file in the same folder as the default.aspx.cs file.
