when I call the web service from the windows service. But I can visit this web service through IE and I also wrote another console application to call the web service and it works fine, too.

The server A has a windows service, and it downloads the files from the server of C, in the folder of images. It used to give errors about access-denied then we assign full control to everyone on the folder of images on the server C. Then it was ok.
Now the same windows service runs on the server B, and ,t gets the same things from images folder of the server C. But there is an error about access-denied.
What should I do for the required steps to make the server B be able to connect the server C and download the files?

I am trying to install SQL Server Express 2005 on Windows XP Service Pack 2 which has not been online for a while.

View 3 RepliesWe have an issue with a .NET 2.0 web service application that is generating a module not found exception when we try to load on server 2008. A second server running the same 2008 version loads the service fine.As part of the investigation we have taken the default hello world .NET 2.0 web service and deployed to both servers and have exactly the same issue with it running fine on one but not the other. The issue is trying to track down the module in question. Running process explorer and dependency walker doesn't seem to give us a clue.

Created a windows service for my local system for sending bulk mail and it is working.But the same if the want to access the db which is there in hosted server and want to install it in my local machine to access the db details from the server , is not working. While starting a service , it is stopping immediately. Is it possible to do so?

When i create a Windows Service for getting information from a Web Application(ASP.NET c#) for scheduling some task in the client machine.
To consume WCF from the web application. I added WCF reference to Window Service project as a service reference, everything seems fine. It updated app.config file, added service reference etc.

I've got all of my ASP.NET requests wrapped in a Session and a Transaction that gets commited only at the very end of the request. At some point during execution of the request, I would like to insert an object and make it visible to other potential threads - i.e. split the insertion into a new transaction, commit that transaction, and move on. The reason is that the request in question hits an API that then chain hits another one of my pages (near-synchronously) to let me know that it processed, and thus double submits a transaction record, because the original request had not yet finished, and thus not committed the transaction record.
So I've tried wrapping the insertion code with a new SessionScope, TransactionScope(TransactionMode.New), combination of both, flushing everything manually, etc. However, when I call Refresh on the object I'm still getting the old object state. Here's some code sample for what I'm seeing:

View 1 RepliesI have an asp.net web app which works fine in Windows XP machine in a domain. I am porting it to a Windows 7 stand alone machine. The app uses a web service which makes a call to sql server. The web server (IIS 7.5) and SQL Server are on the same stand alone machine.I enabled Windows authentication for the website and web service. The web service uses a trusted connection connection string. The web service credentials uses System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials. I noticed username, password and domainname are blank after the call! The webservice and web site use the 'Classic .NET AppPool' with NetworkServices identity.
I am getting an exception "NT AUTHORITYANONYMOUS LOGON" in the database call in the web service. I am assuming it's related to the blank credentials.I am expecting ASPNET user to be the security token to the database. Why is this not happening? Did I miss a setting? (Usually this happens when sql server and web server are on two different machines in a domain, delegation & double hopping, but in my case everything is on a dev box)
Currently we are running an application build in VB6,ASP,Commerce Server2000 and Sql Server 2000. This application is running in Windows 2000 server.Now we are planning to migrate Windows server 2000 to Windows 2008.Will this application run in Windows 2008 or do we need to upgrade this application to dotnet and Sql 2008?
View 1 RepliesI have a web application - .net 4. The client is having a requirement that he want to send email to his users on a regular basis about his new courses etc.
The webapplication created will hosted on a "Shared hosting environment" with no excess to windows services - file system other than the web root folder through FTP.
Due to shared hosting i cannot create a windows service for him which will check the database - if there are any scheduled mail to send every 5 min.
So my question is - Is there anyway i can run a wcf web service or any other web based service or page or handler which can keep running and automatically checks the database for any new scheduled mails - if yes start sending it automatically in an different thread.

I have a multiple database operation, Have three tables (MSsql) and need to delete one row in each table in one operation, one after another. (Three functions, three rows of code). Everything is working as it should be, recently I was advised to use a transaction scope, which should guarantee the safety of deletion from all 3 tables together.

Locally all worked just fine, the transaction scope worked well, but when I have uploaded my application to my hosting server, I got an error of: The partner transaction manager has disabled its support for remote/network transactions. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8004D025).I talked with the host support, they tried to do something, then I got this error: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)).
After a 2 days, They have contacted me, they said it is not possible to disable some restriction, that will allow an access to this operation, because I'm using shared hosting, and I need to upgrade my plan to VPS. VPS is a very expensive for me, and I can't afford it, What I'm looking is a some similar way of doing the same operation as transaction scope do, that may work at my hosting, At least I would like to try something else. Is there any additional way for the transaction scope?

I develop an application using LINQ to SQL. Recently I deploy the application on server and starts performance testing using WAPT for 100 users. Unfortunately, 90 requests are failed while placing an order and only 10 are passed. I analyse and found that for every failed request I got an error "System Exception: Transaction (Process Id 68) was Deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim.
