View 1 RepliesI have a web service. When called, the web service creates a folder and files on another specified server in our network. When the command executes, I keep getting a crash. Basically, it says the ASPNET account is locked out. I unlock it and try again. Same thing.I tried using impersonate in the web.config, and it still tried to get into the server as ASPNET.The web server hosting the web service has Anonymous access enabled, allows the IIS to control the passworld, and also has intergrated Windows Authentication checked.
View 1 RepliesI'm using jQuery BlockUI Plugin to show busy message when a click event is fired.
In the scenario below, it's working fine. The busy message shows and locks UI on click event, and dissapears when postback's done.
No file creation involved, which invokes browser Open/Save As dialog box
Mark-up:
$(function() { // when document has loaded
($.unblockUI); //unlock UI
//Show busy message on click event and disable UI
$('#btnDemo').click(function() {

I want to get rid of the busy message and unlock the UI when Open/Save As dialog box appears.

I'm trying to create a database within the app_data folder of an asp.net mvc project using the IDE, but i am getting a "Required Components Missing" message indicating "Connections to SQL Server files (*.mdf) requireSQL Express 2005 ....."
I am using
- Windows 7 Enterprise
- VS2008 Team System SP1
- SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition SP1
I have altered the database connection to use the default instance by setting to blank using
Tools -> Options -> Database Tools -> Data Connection : SQL Server Instance Name
I also note from the SQL Server Books Online that the user instance feature will be removed in the future, but for now it suits my effort in developing an application where a number of people are working on the project.
Has anyone managed to create a database in the same manner?
we have some files in our web app which saved in database.

I'm trying to access an SQL Server Express database out of an ASP.NET HTTP request handler. The handler is run under ASPNET account and uses "integrated security" in the SQL connection string and so I get an error message saying that login for ASPNET account failed and so I can't access the database. This seems to be a very common problem and most answers say "grant access to you database to user ASPNET".
I only have Visual Studio 2008 and I can't find how to change access permisssions for a database. Specifically I use Tools->Server Explorer and I can see all the tables in the database but can't find how to change access permissions. How do I change access permissions to my database using tools shipped within Visual Studio 2008?

I have a local database which is updated regularly. Now I need a good way to reflect the local database changes into the remote sql server. Both the server have same database structure.

I am using a sp in "Database A" to restore "Database B" from a backup (.bak). Once it is restored I need to create a user in "Database B" so I can access it from the sp in "Database A".
I'm not sure how to accomplish this. 'CREATE USER' only works for the current database (which would be Database A, not B).
I have implemented Forms authentication in an ASP.NET MVC 2 website
By using <%: Page.User.Identity.Name %> on the Site.Master page I can display the userid of the logged in user.
I would like to use this value and display other information about the user that is stored in a User table in a MsSQL database, like:
<%: GetFirstname(Page.User.Identity.Name) %>
Our application lets the administrator create new users. Since the administrator is logged in, I have set Logincreateduser = false so that the administrator is not logged out even after creating the new user.
The problem is :I need the userid of the newly created user to store additional details of the user in another database table. I see that i can get the username using Createuserwizard1.username; but how do I get the userID?

I have tried but errors are occuring during debugging, errors are:the best overloaded method match for 'system.data.odbc.odbc command.odbc command(string,system.data.odbc.odbc connection)'has some invalid arguments.
Argument'2':cannot convert from 'system.data.sqlclient.sqlconnection' to 'system.data.odbc.odbc connection'.
The code written in c# behind the button (button is placed in default.aspx, for example) is:

All the SQL Transactions made by DomainUser1.
View 3 RepliesI'm developing an ASP.NET application with Visual Studio 2008 SP1 and C#. I'm also using Sql Server 2008 SP1.I'm trying to add the tables created with the command aspnet_regsql -S (local) -E -A m to my own database.
If I run that command it will create a database (Aspnetdb database) with four tables. I want to know if there is a command that creates those tables in my own database (called myDatabase, for example).And, when the tables are created. How can I connect authentication to myDatabase?
