I have the above statement in the Page_Load sub on the masterpage. When I run "Start Debugging" from VS 2008 it works fine. However, when I publish the Web Site (on the same machine) and try to load the site from our internal network, the information is blank.

I have a website where different comapny and users can login. Till now I have not seen any issue on IE 6. But in case of one account, when try to login the website, users are getting security information "This page contains both secure and non-secure items.
I can reproduce the same easily for the same customer but not happening for any other customer. I have "ReportViewer" control (gets rendered as iframes) on the page.
In this scenario, whether user selectes "Yes" or "No" button, the home page with charts loads 30% and other controls remains invisible. Though I see same out in "View source" for this and other customers. We dont change anything much then the data and charts for the users. We use https for this website and has few links with "http" in page. But then this is same for all the users, but it happens only in case of one customer.
I'm pretty sure the answer to this question is no, but I just wanted to get some feedback before I go down another path.
Here is my scenario. I have two websites. Website 1 is an internal website that cannot be accessed outside of our domain. Website 2 is an external website that can be accessed outside of the domain, but has access to webservices inside of the domain.
My question is, is there any possible way to display the internal page through the external page without making the internal page external.
My ASP.NET MVC 2 application runs under built-in local NETWORK SERVICE account. I want to set up access permissions for the folder which resides in another computer, but in the same domain. I located that folder right-clicked to open its properties form, clicked to Security tab and pressed Add button which displayed Add user form with correct domain name in the location field. I referred to the account with following syntax:
<domain name><server name>$
because I learned that NETWORK SERVICE account uses machine account when connected to other computers in the domain. However, the system couldn't find the account, so refuses to add the account. Without the domain name it adds a user, but that user seems to be local user, not web server's NETWORK SERVICE account. What am I doing wrong?
By the way, the above syntax worked when I created login for the sql server which is different computer from the web server.
I have a doubt regarding secure cookie.
I have four servers 2 App Server(behind firewall) and 2 webservers and each server is accessing through Load Balancer.
App Server is a modules for Data Access layer and webserver is for Presentation layer.
My Issue is My Load Balancer has Secure certificate installed but certificate is not installed on servers and I want to make cookie as secure in site , as per my understanding " cookie should be set as secure only for SSL site other ways new session will get create every time" so should I install SSL certificate on webserver to make my cookie as secure or will it work properly even if only Load Balance has SSL.
I am building a web application that is used to access and report to and from a database in a small compnay. The company has there own server for their network and design software. What I want to do is use this netwrok to host the website I have built. What im wanting to know is will this be secure? Can use the comapnys server to host the site, and in a sense not put the website online so that just the computers on the server can access the website? Will this be secure?

when a user enters a bad email I am doing a check on this and throwing an exception message as follows, this works fine on the test site but for some reason the same code on the live site gives a "internal server error" (http code 500). The code below:

not certain why this is happening, I assume that it's some server or config difference between the test and live sites. has anyone seen this before? For a quick fix i'm registering javascript alert and showing the same text so it works but I would like to figure out why the code above is not working.
I am able to save documents to a network drive from my c# asp.net application when it is run from my developmet machine, but not when the application is deployed to a website. i developed an asp.net(2.0) applicaions which contains the attachments of the clients . these attachments are saved in the shared folder and retrive the file when the user requests.if i maintain the application and the shared folders in the same system it will work properly.if i maintain the application in one server and the file folder in the other server i face a lot of security issus like1.Access Denied2.Couldnot find the part of the path......for this i made an common account for the application server and the file server and also set impersonation to true.Even the i got the couldnot find the part of the path error.i already gave the everyone with full control to the shared folder and i added the common account and gave it to full controlIs there is any alternate for the save and retrive the files to and from the shared folder.

I have just built a web app (using webforms) which has a page for inserting a new budget request and a page to edit and manage this budget request.
What is a pain is if I have to make changes to the business logic then I need to edit same / similar code in two places.
What I am thinking of doing is creating one page to handle this with only UPDATE logic and if the URL on page load has no ID parameter then create a blank row in table and use this new ID and then UPDATE.
Is this bad practice? I obv know I need to clear out old blank rows at some point.
My servers are behind F5 load balancer, I wanna use HttpRuntime.Cache in my web application but I didn't find out the way for to use that method for those using network load balancing server. Or can we store that HttpRuntime.Cache to sql server like the session we do in web.config file?

I need to enforce that users type in their network credentials (windows credentials) before they can log into this application. I intentionally need to disallow Integrated Windows Authentication. I have a half dozen sites on my server and I would like to get some info from IIS7 to display in the footer of each page (as long as you are an admin of course). I am going through the ServerObject and found Sites but am not finding anything obvious for "this site". What should I do to get at the information for the exact site in IIS7 that the page is running on?

I wanna save what links a user clicks on in a website. I thought of creating a jquery function that would save the link name everytime a link is clicked , then ajax the info to the db after the user closes the site.
Does that sound like a proper way. Anyone have samples of that?
Since there are multiple pages with multpile links, I wanna create something equivalient to a Session variable in javascript so I can append info to it everytime a user clicks a link and send the info only once to the db, instead of everytime a user clicks a link open a db connection and send the info.
The links are products so I wanna save related products, so I wanna save related product infomation. Maybe I need a cookie instead?
