I'm trying to set up the SSL in my web app, but don't know if i'm doing it right, or if even i'm taking the right steps in the right order.I have a function in a class that returns the secure URL (https://mydomain.com/...aspx) if the current url is not secure (http)
[Code]....
(Though in develop environment It's like "https://localhost:port" + rawUrl)
when the function returns ssl value, if it's not empty, then the master page redirects to the new url... but the browser is not showing it...
I want to refresh a page on a specific time.
From http-equiv="refresh" content="30" the page is refresh very 30 seconds,But I want page is refreshed on the specific time. like page is refresh on 1:30 of every day.
I have a forum area on my website and i would like to make forum main page in such a way that it should refresh itself every 2 minutes. How i can accomplish this ?
View 8 RepliesWhen a user visits our site they see a coverflow. They are not logged in so they cant see any images. Once they log in they should be able to see images in the coverflow but they cant because the flash object is being cached.
A user can get around this problem by setting the IE settings to (check for newer versions of stored pages every time they visit a site) however we need a way to force the browser to refresh the flash object once they are logged in, without telling all of our users to change the settings in their browser.
Is this possible?
[code]....
You can see my inline c# script to generate random numbers but that doesnt seem to refresh the object.
How can I refresh the aspx page in very cetain timing? Actually I need to develop someting it just likes this ASP.Net forum web site where the page will auto refresh in certain timing to keep the session active.
View 3 Repliesi want your opinion about the
Response.AddHeader("Refresh", Convert.ToString((Session.Timeout * 60) - 20))that i have seen in some sites that is used for refresh the page every time a little bit before the session expires
I have a gridView and on the DataBound event I am assigning a Session variable from one of the gridview results. This session is then used to determine if certain nodes in a menu are visible. One problem is that when the session variable is assigned, the menu is not updating, until either I refresh the page manully in the browser or move to another page.
View 3 RepliesI am developing an application using Visual Studio 2010 and SQLServer 2008. My application has two pages and the first page contains a GridView with all the records "User Administration" and when user click on any Username (template field ->linkbutton) I read the USERID like this.
Session["UserID"] = e.commandArgument;
Response.Redirect("UserOperations.aspx");
which takes it to the Data Entry page where user updates the information and save the data.
The problem i am facing is that when I hit the browser REFRESH button couple of times the session variables looses the value which is trouble for me as I am using Session Variables for different purposes.
we have a sql server 2005...that has 70-80 databases and hundreds of tables....
It is supposed to refresh every night.... refresh is done by other vendor(3rd party).... we dont know what method(technology) they use to refresh the databases....
My question is .....
Is there a good way to know when the last refresh has happend...can we determine it from sys tables.....
the sql server is installed in window server 2003 box.... we have access to the box as well as the sql server.....
I have a bug in which, whenever an error occurs the user seems to get logged out. After much research I find that the situation is not so simple:
(note I have dumbed these down a bit to make it easier to follow)
Web.config - I turn on Custom Error Mode
I have many controls like dropdown, radiobuttonlist, etc on my page and I put all these controls inside the update panel so that the page doesn't look to be posting back when something is selected. Now the working on the page is very smooth. But the session object isn't getting refreshed even if I postback to the server and as a result even if the users are working on the page they are being sent to the login screen after 20 mins.
Is there anyway where I could put all the controls in update panel and still refresh the session after any postback(dropdown selection)
I have set the destinationpageurl of my login control to login.aspx. On successfully logging in to my website, I get redirected to the directory listing. Why is this? What am I doing wrong?
Also, what do I need to do to not allow the user to see the directory listing ever.
In my web application I am chevkign the HTTPReferrer and if not available redirecting to the login page for security reasons.
In the same page an export to option is there.
When we press refresh option of the browser after the export option the page losts its Referrer and comes out to login page.
But after export if we click on other links in the same page or any other manipulation in the same page its workign fine.
This happens only in IE and not in Firefox.
I'm load testing an asp.net app.The load test is simulating 500 user doing searchs on the site and browsing the results. I'm observing that the more I reduce the session timeout limit (in web.config) the better the page response time.exemple, with a timeout at 10 minutes, I got an average response time of 8.35 seconds.
With a timout at 3 minutes, the average response time for the same page is 3,98 seconds. The session in stored "InProc".
I have a web page that refreshes every one minute and the solution times out every 20 minutes, would the one minute refresh be considered as user activity and therefore doesn't time out every 20 minutes? And if not, how do I convince the page that the one minute refresh is like a user activity and it shouldn't time out? Here is the javascript to refresh every one minute:
[Code]....
I have two webpages. Default.aspx and Default2.aspx
No code written in both pages.
I put an imagebutton without imageurl in Default2.aspx
The control is redirected to Default.aspx when Default2.aspx requests...
How does this happen?
when i run my webpage my personal webserver automatically redirects page to iisstart.htm page.my webageis not showing. what could be the problem?
View 12 RepliesBy default when the Session ends then the End-User should be directs to the login page and logs in again. Is there any way to open the login page in a new page rather than opening it in the same page(upon Session time out)?
View 8 RepliesMy page is logging out in 20 minutes. I want my page should not be logged out for 60 mins.
View 4 RepliesI'm using sessions to track user name. I assign Session["userName"] in my login procedure. The sessionn gets timeout in about 15 minutes. What I need to do is, if the session timeouts I need to redirect the page to the Default.aspx page.
How can I do this? Any code example would be great.
I am using session timeout in IIS 8 for about 60 minutes :<sessionState timeout="60" /> now lets suppose 58 minutes have passed , and it showed user a message that your session will be expired after 2 minutes , Click here [BUTTON] to refresh the session timeout , without page refreshing, clicking on the button , i want to reset the session timeout .... when user clicks on button at 58th minute , his session would be reset to 60 minute without page refresh ....
View 1 Replies I have inherited a site that was developed with a very over architedcted Content Management System. I am having problems now with the redirection functionality built into it.
This is on a dedicated Windows 2003 server running ASP.NET 3.5 sp 1. The redirects are stored in the database, and I have confirmed that the correct redirect is in place in the database. Finally, the file extension .html has been mapped in IIS to the ASP.NET ISAPI. And there is an HttpHandler created to redirect the .html requests. The default documents on the server, in order, are:
default.aspx
index.aspx
default.asp
index.asp
default.html
index.html
for this example, we have two redirects both pointing to the same content page. /example and /example.html.when requesting /example.html it correctly finds the appropriate redirect in the database and does its magic. Bueno. When requesting /example it gives a 404 page. Its not even the asp.net yellowish 404 generic error page. Its the standrad vanilla IIS 404 response so it appears that asp.net is not intercepting these requests.
I am having problem in session time out in Asp.net with Ajax Call.Once the session times out, when a control calls asynchrous this is notredirecting to login page.(I am using forms Authentication)In the same page if i try to redirect(in Preinit) to login page if session expired..the login page appears with the previous page(because of the ajax call). Please let me know the way to redirect to the login page when the session time out and when a ajax call is made.
