I am using website application in VS2010. It populated data by reading app.config file from another library application. So I copied the connection string both in library projectand in website application's Web.config.But when I run the application it throw error as "unable to auto attach aspnetdb.mdb".
I did configure aspnetdb.mdb or attached it in my application.Even I did not write any connection string to read aspnetdb.mdb.My question is by default do we need to attach such mdb in asp.net 4.0 website project? I have not had such problem in VS2005 and 2008.I am using SQL Server 2008 professional edition.
suddenly, with my Visual Studio 2008 I can no longer debugging my web applications (ASP.NET 3.5). I obtain this error: Unable to start debugging on the web server. Click Help for more information. Auto-attach to process [8360] w3wp.exe' on machine 'DELL' failed. The weird thing is that I haven't done special changes to my IIS.
I have visual studio 2005 and sql server standard edition installed on my desktop. Im trying to get my head around the authentication and role administration part of visual studio controls.
At the moment Im using the browser version to configure the settings.
While im attempting to access the security tab to develope, users and roles i keep getting a message saying im unable to connect to the database. However, when i use my collogues PC with SQL server express installed it connects with no problems.
Does anyone have an idea how i configure this tool to use SQL server standard edition so i dont have to go back to express?
I am using VS 2010 Professional with SQL Server 2008 Developer. I right click on the App_Data folder in solution explorer and add an existing item, then navigate to the correct database. However, I receive a pop up that Access is Denied. How do I fix this?
I came up with the following error when i tried to run my asp.net application.
The error is : Unable to Attach. The Binding Handle is invalid.Do you wish to continue?
If i click Yes, application is running but could not able to debug.
Then I referred to microsoft blogs and tried the following solution control Panel-->Administrative tools-->Services-->Terminal ServicesI changed startup type to "Manual" ,restarted my machine. But it's not working for me.
I'm trying to debug an ASP.NET application. I've created a virtual directory in IIS, copied all the binaries and web.config there. When I pass request from the client program running on the same computer aspnet_wp.exe is started but then something goes wrong.
I want to attach to the process and try debug it. When I ask Visual Studio to "Attach to process" it displays a list of processes and aspnet_wp.exe, inetinfo.exe and dllhost.exe are all displayed grayed as if they are already debugged by some other program and so I can't attach to any of them.
I have tried to disable the "debug" option in web.config:
but it didn't change the behavior. What's happening and how do I make aspnet_wp, inetinfo and dllhost all start in such way I can attach a debugger to either of them?
I m trying to save files like pdf, word, excel etc... into sql express, but m getting this error in my web page:An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file C:Usersmalek.safaDocuments est vbSavingFileInDBSavingFileInDBApp_Dataaspnetdb.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share. m not getting errors inside my code, just this one appearing on the web page.
After attaching debugger when i run my application it's give me error "Could not find stored procedure 'sp_sdidebug'".I am using 1.14 framework in backend sql server 2005

I get error message "Unable to start debugging on the web server" in Visual Studio 2010. I clicked the button and followed the related suggestions without success.
This happens with a newly created local ASP.Net project when modified to use IIS instead of Cassini (which works for debugging). It prompts to set debug="true" in the web.config and then immediately pops up the error. Nothing shows up in the Event Viewer.
I am able to attach to w3wp to debug. It works but is not as convenient as F5.
I also have a similar problem with VS2008 on the same PC. Debugging used to work for both.
I have re-registered Framework 4 (aspnet_regiis -i). I ran the VS2010 repair (this is the RTM version). I am running on a Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 box.
I'm getting this strange error when i'm in SplitView or DesignView and i refresh view (i'm using VisualStudio 2010 .Net 4.0). This is happening only for this page and i have never seen anything like it, neither do i understand what is goin on.
i have a problem, i want to decrypt password in aspnetdb, the password created by web administration tool in vs, i want to decrypt it without using MemberShipProvider, i there any way.
I have seen this for a long time, and finally decided to put the question up here. I have some applications that I need to maintain that were written in Delphi 2007 for .NET (ASP.NET 2.0). Normally, the first time I run the application (using IIS) I get the classic "Unable to start debugging on the web server. Unable to attach to ASP.NET worker process" message. I simply press F9 (run) again, and it runs. Sometimes I have to try running several times before it will actually run. I am running Windows 7 64-bit (and have seen the same effect on Vista 64-bit). I do have IIS configured for ASP.NET, and I do have the following code in my Web.config file.
The point is that I eventually can run the application in the debugger, sometimes even on the first try. Many times when I get the failure it happens about 15 seconds or so after I press Run, sometimes even after I've hit a page or two (or three) of the Web app. And, yes, when Delphi gets into this mode, I can simply run without debugging, and all is fine (unless I really want to debug). And, I can just keep on trying to run in the debugger and eventually it will just work.
It appears that Delphi's .NET debugger is somehow getting the idea that the application cannot run, and then gives up and stops the process (which as I've mentioned is sometimes clearly running). I know of other developers who have also seen this behavior. My question is, does anyone know how to stop this annoying behavior?
My file based ASP.Net 3.5 website was working fine. For the pastcouple of days I am getting the following error.Unable to update auto-refresh reference 'ajaxcontroltoolkit.dll" Cannot findassembly c:Program filesMicrosoft ASP.NetAjax LibraryWebformsReleaseAjaxControlToolKit.dll.Project : c:mis. My ASP.Net 3.5 website root folder is c:mis. I browsed to subfolder Bin and looked atBinAjaxControlToolkit.dllAjaxControlToolKit.dll.refresh. The following was the reference...Program FilesMicrosoft ASP.NET Ajax LibraryWebFormsReleaseAjaxControlToolkit.dll
I'd installed newly Visual Studio 2010,and i want to create a new local website on my iis server and i follow these steps:
1-from my iis i create a virtual directory 2-in command promt i execute these commands:
aspnet_regiis -i aspnet_regiis -ga aspnet
3-i go to VS2010 and create a new website (HTTP) and choose my created Virtual Directory has been built in previous step
Now if i do step 3 with framework 4 i don't have any problem but with framework 3.5 my website hasn't been run and says me : "Unable to start debugging on the web server. The web server is not configured correctly. See help for common configuration errors. Running the web page outside of the debugger may provide further information."
I am getting this error, without any further details, when attempting to debug my ASP.Net project in VS2010. There are other developers using the same tools and code who are not having this problem therefore I know the problem is not in the web.config file. I have found several suggestions when googling the issue and tried them all to no avail. I uninstalled and re-installed VS2010 along with the .Net 4 framework. I made sure Anonymous as well as Windows authentication is enabled in IIS. I uninstalled and reinstalled IIS. I am at a loss. I can attach to the process and debug the ASP.Net code that way, but what I really need to be working on is a Silverlight app that is called from the ASP.Net and the breakpoints don't work in Silverlight when I attach to the process manually.
I have a "database explorer" page that is desgined to be pointed to an unknown database and allow users to browse the data, so it basically uses the SQL system tables to develop its queries and pull in data to tables using auto-generate columns. The problem that I have is that I would like certain types of columns to have certain formats and I'm wondering the best way to go about it. I could format the column in code in the RowDataBound event I assume, but I'm wondering if there some better standard way to do this? Is there a setting of any kind that I can use? For example I want all of the datetime fields to be formated for short date, like {0:d}, I want decimal fields to have 4 decimal places, etc.
I have project in asp.net with sql server backend.i want to auto generate a number for particular column.with the auto generated number i want to insert some other data in the same row same table. on button click event.details
railway PNR no.:- want to autogenerat passenger details:- want to inserted simultaneously
I have a simple online web system where it possible for the visitors to "play around" with the system. They can like create categories and products and so forth. Everything they create are stored into a database.
What I want is to be able to reset this database with my default values (table data) every n hours.
So for example if we have a bunch of users that have played with the system and created new things. Then I want to be able to make some kode that deletes all data in the tables in this database and fill it with default data. The default data can come from a backup file, or another database with same tables structure or whatever.
I want this task to be done every day at 12 pm or every n hour.
Is this possible (by forexample scheduled webservice tasks or just something as long as it is simple).
I'm trying to implement automatic lockout after 3 password failure attempts and then to auto unlock after 3 mins. But it does not auto lockout, I can still login if i use the correct password within the 3 mins.
Ive searched quite a while to do this.. havent found any revelant answer i already have a database named GAD.MDF with tables inside. However i wanna use the membership API to use the tables generated in the aspnetdb.mdf. Is there a way to generate thoses tables in my own database and then use my database instead? cause many host only enable us to use one database.
