Im trying to install VS 2008 on Server 2008 R2. As I try to run the Setup.exe file I get this Error:
The procedure entry Point BaseGetProcessDllPath could not be located in the Dynamic Link library KERNELBASE.dll
I am using VS 2005.When i was opening my VS 2005 and i tried to open web appication view designer.But it is not working and it is showing a warning message "Entry point was not found".
View 2 RepliesI am using SSRS 2005 and Windows Server 2003, when i try to access my SSRS report from Direct url i.e from browser it is shown but if i try to access it from asp.net page through report viewer it displays "Entry point was not found." Error Message.
some days before it was working properly.
I have also reinstall OS and SSRS.
Please tell me the solution if any body faced the same issue or somebody knows the problem.
<NEWBIE to configuration> I attempted to update a .dll from a 1.1 project to a bin directory and received the following error

Dllname may not be exported, or a corrupted version of Dllname may be in memory. Consider using Pview to detect the file and remove it.
I do not have the option of using Pview. I have attempted stopping iis then try remove and restarting server. What other options do I have to delete the dll, or reregister the new dll??
I cant open my web application design viewer . When i trying to click design tab it is showing warning message "Entry point was not found."

Application running without any errors.. But i cant see the design view in my pages ..
I'm struggling to install the Ajax toolkit in Visual Studio 2008 Developer Eddition. I followed all the steps in the ReadMe but everytime I right -click in the new tab and select "Choose Items..." my visual studio shows in the left hand bottom corner something like "Loading 'Choose Toolbox Items' dialog" and then after a few seconds visual studio just exits. What gives? Is there another way around this?
View 4 RepliesWhy does the Web Platform Installer force you to install SQL 2008 Express?
I have a production server which already has an installation of SQL 2000 but no web development tools are installed. I would prefer not to add SQL 2008 Express if it is not necessary. The server in addition to being the primary intranet webserver is also DC, APP SERVER, FILE SERVER and basically does not need to handle an extra instance of SQL.
The main purpose of this is just one of convenience to have the web development app on the RDP Desktop instead of attaching to the server in some manner (ftp/unc share).
Not point to the break point.it gives above error massege when start debbuging. How i fix this.
View 1 RepliesMy client gave me this web solution, in it various projects, and the problematic project (for me) is the Web Site.
I've copied the code to test web server (2008) and installed VS 2008 so I could step through the code on the server due to some weirdness.
Anyhow, when I open the solution locally on my personal computer, it runs on Cassini [URL] because I'm not on a server OS. However, when I run the app on the web server, when I hit F5, it runs oh [URL].
When I'm running the code on the server, how do I point the web site to use Cassini?

I started an app in VS2008. I did it as a web site. I installed VS 2010 (yay) today. I wanted to start over as a web project. I made a Master Page. I made content pages. One of my content pages has a form on it. Super simple text boxes and submit.
I added a folder called App_Code and placed my class files there by doing Add New Item and pasting the code into the new class. I have person and persons. The persons collection class references person. In the same folder, the persons class finds the person class. Up one level in a page's code behind, I am gettingthe error
The type or namespace name 'person' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
For giggle, I move person.cs up a folder. Still cannot find the person. Persons collection class still CAN find person. My code behind cannot find it.
A little reading tells me I have to set that folder as an app folder in IIS. I am running Windows 7 ersonal... I cannot find IIS. If not there, I ask myself what they heck is my app running under?
for being such a noob. Anyone know what is going on here?

My project works under VWD2010 but when I click the Configuration tools at Solution Explorer, nothing happens unlike under VWD2008.

I had to reload vwd 2008 express and sql 2008 express on my laptop. After loading cannot launch vwd, get this error message. The progress bar reads: "Install progress: Installing Visual Web Developer 2010 Express [1 out of 1] It finishes after a while but I cant see a VWD shortcut in the start menu nor somewhere under program files, it does not appear in the control panel -> programes and features list as well. Where did it go? Did it install?

Now if build website on system [ windows XP ] it build properly but on system [ Windows 7 Enterprise ] it showing following error:
" Name 'txt' is not declared "
What would be the reason.Is that environment specific problem.I am using VS 2008.
