Visual Studio :: How To Bind Menu Control With Both Static And Dynamic Data
Jun 28, 2010
i m want to bind asp.net menu control from database and some of static value both, i know how to bind menu from DB and also know how to static bind the data in Menu, but i want two add two static record in menu control and after that i want to bind data from DB in menu control, and than again three static record bind in menu..... i think a lot about this and finally i thought to add my static data in dataset at particular positons, but problem is that i dont know how to bind static data in dataset at particular 1st 2nd and 4th,5th,6th pos.
I am using Visual web developer 2008 Express. I have a menu with a static top level and a dynamic second level. When the dynamic level is displayed the background is always white. How do I set the background and foreground colors for the dynamic menulevel?
I need to set the "Text" property of a label inside a gridview using, I know how to set the label using static value and I also know how to set the label using the "Bind" keyword but I want to do both, something like this:
I am working on a custom menu control, partially as a learning exercise, and I am having trouble with Visual Studio's IntelliSense support for it in markup view. The conventional ASP.NET menu allows you to place an arbitrary depth of <asp:MenuItem/> elements under the <Items>...</Items> element. I'm after the same behaviour for my menu.Mine unfortunately does not. VS insists on an empty tag:
I have created a user control which is inside a folder called Controls and the class is a partial class which inherits from Web.UI.UserControl. Now from my page which is one level up I just try to access the method inside the usercontrol and so trying to cast it as the type of user control. But I get build errors. It just cannot recognize that class. I get Type not defined error. But at times it has recognized the class. Dont know why it does that.
I need a help in creating a vertical oriented Menu control with dynamic url's set in there Navigate Url property. Also i need to set the menu items as enable/disable in two different modes say edit/new.
My existing system has Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. But Microsoft web installer for Webmatrix has made Wematrix Launch ribbon menu pointing to Visual Studio 2008. How could I make Webmatrix point to Visual Web Express 2010. To make use of IntelliSense and the debugger, I have to manually launch Visual Web Developer 2010 Express.
I am Developing a database web applicationI am Creating web controls on page at runtime i.e in Page_Init event. No textbox are placed on .aspx page at design timeI have a datatable filled with a single record.now i want to bind a textbox (created at runtime) with a column of datatable so that when a page is loaded value in datatable's column is displayed in textbox.Other Important thing i want is when i make any changes in Textbox, It should be reflected automatically in a column to which textbox is binded. So while saving records i can save it directly from datatable. I dont want to write following tedious code before savinge.g.
I'm trying to implement a custom filter template for all text based searches and running into problems constructing the query. I've been following the instructions posted on this blog but not sure how change the GetQueryable method to perform a WHERE columnAttribute LIKE '%something%'query. In the example on the blog the expression is an equality which works if the text I enter exactly matches the text in the database column.
At the moment I'm using the new QueryExtender feature along with the SearchExpression control but this requires creating several custom pages for all the tables I need text search functionality for. I would like to DRY this up by creating the custom filter template.
I came across this site and like the top nav menu [URL] can visual studio 2008 generate such a menu like that. Moreover, what about if I want to apply security on what to show in the menu. For instance, I will have 3 departments ( Finance, Accounting and Marketing ) each department has its own apsx page. Depending on role, I need to show / not show a page under each department. How can I enforce such thing.
I would like use Dynamic Data to scaffolding my table forms, and I followup this link [URL] The problem I cannot find Dynamic Data when I create web project. My .Net version is 3.5 and my Visual Studio 2008 Professional full installation. How I can install ASP.NET Dynamic Data and use it with Visual Studio 2008?
