Web Forms :: AXD Resources Files Related Cotnrols?
Apr 29, 2010
while i am watching what is file loaded in my page at runtime, i found that multiple files with the same name "ScripResource.axd" have been loaded but with different "d" querystring, how to know the control related to that resource ?
In the VS 2005 Solution Explorer, you can nest files such as page.aspx.cs underneath page.aspx. Is there a way to add other files there? For example, I'd like to include a page.aspx.js file in there too, so that the nesting would have page.aspx at the top, then page.aspx.cs and page.aspx.js underneath it.
Is that possible in VS 2005? How could I set that up?
I have made resources files for different lauguages, e.g. Resources.Fr.resx, Resources.US.resx...
How to coding to make which resources files for default resources files so that when in the coding as below can be achieved with minimal coding change?
If a user clicked on a button, which runs a one minute process that MUST stay connected to the file (through the use of FileStream) for writing purpose, and he/she accidentally closed the browser. Currently, when that happens, if the user clicks on the button again, it will return an exception saying that the file is still being used. The part where I write to the file, the code for that is in a class library, which has a destructor (or finalizer, whichever), which calls a Dispose() method. It would usually take about 20 seconds before the file is free again to be used, but is there a way to make it quicker?
I'm thinking the way I'm designing my web app is not the conventional way. How do most people avoid this situation (ie. accidentally closing browser) where a file/resources are not freed up? Do they write into a SQL server instead of a flat file?
I was just wondering guys, how did you manage to update website's content with resx(resources) files.Did you manage user's database with connection, accessing to this page. I need to make a poll as well, should I use sharepoint or c# with a database?
I have added .CSS file in Resources folder of the project. In the same way i can add Images or any other files. But i am unable to use those files in Server Control Project. How to apply CssClass property to any predefined server control to the css file that is stored in the Resources folder ?
I have two related ddl's on an updatepanel and would like to put the result of that query on a textbox... So pretty much using this kind of query on Sqldatasource
a table with related records (above is showing tapes, with different shots on the tapes). I already have the tapes data with the URLs working so not worried about that - just how to show the related information. Doesn't have to be exactly like this - but all the information must be visible at the same time ie no click to view or hover over.
how to access related columns in a dropdown list? In the example below I have a dropdown which is bound to a list of countries, I know how to access the text & value fields but how would I access data such as "Region"? I know I could do this by spinning through the list until CountryCode on the lsit and selected item match but wondered if there was a better way.
I'm working with asp.net 3.5 WebForms and LINQ to Entities.
I created the database with their relationships, but when I go to import the data with LinqToEntities, some reports and have not seen any reports 1 to 1.
I can create them after the reports have imported the tables LinqToEntities?
I have now spend the whole day without google giving me the answer on this one: How (if at all possible) do I access a global resources implicit e.g. using the "meta:resourcekey" property? This way I don't have to explisit set each property on a control to a resourcekey e.g. Text="<%$ Resources:GloRes, Label1_Text %>",
I am trying to read resources values in a medium trust environment have am getting a security error. The resources are in the path of the root folder, i.e. not somewhere else. It works in a full trust.
All code I tried is giving the same error. How can I read a resource without getting this problem?
I've searched for about a day and a half and have not been able to find an explanation that I can understand, so please forgive me if this is something you have seen/answered before.
I have a web site that uses the App_Code folder. There are several CS files and classes in that folder. All of this works fine up to this point. However, I wrote an extension method with its own class and file. This fails with the following ambigous reference error (the app is in C#):
Compiler Error Message: CS0121: The call is ambiguous between the following methods or properties: 'GSGeneral.ExtensionMethods.IsNumeric(string)' and ''GSGeneral.ExtensionMethods.IsNumeric(string)'
If I change the extension to a plain static class, there are no problems with it. Based on that, it seems like this is related to it being an extension method. Now I know a work around is to move the file out of the App_Code folder - I've tried it and it works. My question is why does this have issues when all of the other items in the App_Code folder do not.
[URL] - Internet explorer is not displaying the webpage instead it is searching the results related to localhost.
If i browse the virtual directory then the webapplication is working absolutely fine. everything is being configured properly and i also checked the services which are also running.
Under Visual Studio 2010, I'm developing an asp.net application. I added a folder to my project called Flash. Under Flash folder I added a swf file with its external resources to run.
The folder content: 1- ScrollingImages.swf file to lunch the flash 2- ScrollingImages.xml file that the swf file uses to read images from thumbnails folder 3-thumbnails folder which content images used by swf file. I can embed the swf file to html easily using this code:
[Code]....
But when I use the same code to embed it to asp.net page I will have a problem that the flash will run but I cannot see the images so the swf file unable to locate the xml file and the folder of the images location and they all in the same folder. Here is the code I used in the aspx.net content page.
[Code]....
I also tested it in aspx.net page and I'm getting same result no images appear. I know that the problem is related to who to embed the swf external resources (the xml file and the images folder) to the aspx.net page but I searched a lot and I could solve it.
Am not sure how to go about this... but i have two ddls on a formview which are not related but just insert and update into each other... Both are binded to the objectdata source....
Am issue just came up and i am looking for the simplest way on code behind that would automatically post a constant value (selecteditem) once the first ddl clicks on 1 or 2....
Example is
lst DDL Second ddl
ABC bko
DWC loct
qwe jjjj
Now when ABC is clicked... it should automatically bring out JJJ on the second ddl.... I just want something i can do on code behind.
i have this xml file which i read using the DataSet.ReadXml( path ) method . The tables created from the Xml file is Related in such a maner that each product has many options. Product is in one table and Options are in another. Now all i want to do is display the related tables in One Gridview. For your reference below is the products Xml file,
[Code]....
Now this is what i have done in the Code behind , have a look below
[Code]....
Now the Grid works Great if i want to Display Individual tables out from Dataset but not when they are related . Please do shine your Knowledge on what should be done to display Child ~ Master relationship. By the way , its a definite NO for someone who would show me that link from msdn about displaying XML data using Xmldatasource and gridview [That's a lousy way to display data]
