Open/Save file dialog opens by the above code. But when I try to save any image file (JPG,GIF etc), file is currepting and saving as unknown format on the mentioned path.
So I've just started up my most recent website: [URL]
and it would seem that every 5th or 6th time I publish my project out of VS 2005 the Web.Config file corrupts and loses its connection string to the database and a nasty exception gets thrown stating that the web.config file does not contain the connection string that all of my SQLDataSource objects use.

But I'd rather know if there were some sort of simple fix for this that I don't know about.

1.. when click on browse button open dialog will come and whic image we select it show on image box..
2.. when i click on upload button it upload to the image folder in my project.
3.. i don't want to show any other control here.. i don't want to use file upload control or input file control because they come along with the text box....
and i want only button.. i saw this in varioues site..
Is there any way to perform traditional web based Upload SaveAs option with consoleapplication. I just want to call the saveAs option by passing the filename as argument need to be saved to the location.
View 1 RepliesI have a standard FileUpload control, which calls a class library, where the file becomes HttpPostedFile. In beta versions of my page, I've been able to successfully use HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath(filename)to save the file. The class library does various functions, including saving the image into /uploads and a thumbnail into/thumbs.
But now, after tidying up the layout of the site, the upload aspx page has moved to a subdirectory 'members'. I had assumed (wrongly) that calling the upload function would act as normal. However, now I receive an error because of where the page is originating from: The code wants to save the file in the non-existant folder /members/uploads and /members/thumbs
My question is: Apart from hard-coding the directory structure of my hosting provider, is there any way to use an equivilent to server.mappath which will recognise the root path of the website, and ignore sub-folders?
One method which solves my problem is to append "../" to the start of the file location, eg HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath("../" & filename) ...However, as many pages will be able to call the upload class library (and not all of them in a sub-folder) I want to make sure I'm not always back-tracking on the subfolders.
I have a Image button Control on my webpage and what I want that user can change it's image dynamically, Is it possible to have File Dialog Box on it's click event ? For instance we've social networking sites like Facebook, Orkut. Just like that I want user to change it's image.

I am having weird display issues using the jQuery dialog with an iframe in Firefox and IE8.
I have tested the page itself outside of the iframe and the problems are not reproduced, only when inside of the jQuery dialog.

The class of the image is set dynamically based on image dimensions.
The image path is set in the code behind, no styling or resizing done.
The images are resized upon upload to be no larger than 300x300.
Display is correct in Chrome and Safari, but in IE and FF for some reason it enlarges the image.
i write a html code for file saveas using file uploading control. here file saveas working for aspx code but not working for html code to call handler(ashx).

I've got an asp.net mvc application that uploads a file and stores them in one of the directories where the website is located.
My question is... When you execute HttpPostedFileBase.SaveAs() method saving it with the same name as an existing filename on the folder, does HttpPostedfileBase overwrite the file?
I'm using asp:fileupload control to upload my Picture files. So the user click on browse and select the file and click on upload and in event handler of upload button there is FileUpload.PostedFile.SaveAs () etc.
Everything works fine. Accept when for big file size. e.g. I've got a file (jpg) 5.5 MB. When I try to upload this file I get an the error below.
The strange thing is I the button upload file eventhandler I check the file size. If (intFileesize < intFileSizeLimit) etc.
But the strange thig is I remove all the code in Upload eventhandler for testing/debugging and I still get the error below. So the error occurs outside the Button handler. I mean the error cause is not by Fileupload.SAveAs etc.... So the question is how can I avoid this. I mean I have built restriction of 1 mb, but This code is not reached.
I don't have any problems with small sizes e.g. I could upload 400 kb w/o problem.
So the question is what is the cause for the big file size how can I solve this?
Other question is: Is there a tool or whatever to crop the filesize and upload? I mean even if they upload 6 mb picture, I should crop that to 50kb or whatever during upload. How to aproach this? maybe a 3rd party freeware?

I can't make the dialog work with modal:true option.Here I have a simple page that includes RenderPartial for a dialog. The dialog is supposed to pop up when a button is clicked. However, if I include modal:true as one of the dialog options, then when the button is clicked nothing happens. The dialog does not pop up. When I remove modal:true from the dialog options then dialog pops up as expected and closed as expected.
View 10 RepliesI've got a div on Page A.When an event happens (whatever I define, a click, whatever), I do a div.Dialog, set its properties and open itThe data inside is returned from an async .ajax call that grabs the data from a url and appends it to the div by calling div.html(data) inside the .ajax callback, so it's essentially loading a PageB by getting the data (content) and appending it to the div that's calling the dialog("open")...nothing special here I don't think.
My question: In Page B, how do I reference the dialog so I can do some things to it? For instance in Page B's content that I received back from that .ajax call and added to the div via .html(data), there is a button and when clicked I need to close the dialog.Right now my buttons are not working inside the dialog because one of them closes out the dialog and the other should redirect to a new page but both do not work now because I have no reference to the dialog that it's in to manipulate it. So I need reference so I can close the dialog via some jQuery that will reside in PageB (data).

My application is running on a different server .So I can't give the filepath of my local system.
Also I don't want to store the image in any location and i'm not supposed to use any session variable to pass it to generic handler.

Can anyone point me to a tutorial? I haven't been able to find one that explains how to do it when I don't know what the image path will be. The images are in the root folder.
