I have a dropdownlist in a headertemplate and when the selectedindexchanged event I am trying to change the values associated with those labels. The name of the gridview is Gridview1. What am i missing or doing wrong to accomplish this. I want to set the values of my labels within my modalpopup with the values of the item clicked on within my gridview. Here is my RowDataBound code, im sure i have to do this somewhere else, but you will see the 2 labels im trying to set. When they click on ibHT image button a modalpopup opens and works great, but the labels are always set to the first record in the gridview.

Im really new to ASP.net. I am hoping to work with one TextBox, one Sumbit button and an unlimited amount of Labels....
I am wanting to input information into a TextBox then click a submit button and post to Label1, then empty the Textbox ready for further information.
The further information will then be added to Label2 after clicking the same submit button for the second time, then repeat this process for Label3, Label4 etc etc
Why would i be getting NullReferenceException if im setting the labels with values?In my page_load i have the following:

I have a small obsticle. I use labels to present data from database. Some data strings from database are very long which makes the labels very long too so it looks ugly because label is pushing everything to the side of the webpage. Setting label width works only when text is less then width which i set. How can i make the label only show text no longer then labels width?

I have some more labels on the page which get their values from querystrings(17,18)..
I have more labels which are empty (34,35)
On image click in the datalist item, i want the labels from that item to add with the labels outside of the datalist, and the last lot of labels to show this number..

Its working fine for PDF / doc files but not working for .JPG files.
Basically i have some document scanned and stored it in varbinnary datatype in DB.
I am able to search for .doc /.xml /.pdf files .. but not able to search .jpg.
also i am not getting ".jgp" extension in result of following query

I wanted to a window to pop up when the user clicks on an image. In the pop window, i want to display a text box to search and a button to submit the search. Also on the same pop up, i want to use a radiobutton list to give the option of choosing to search by first name or last name.on searching, i want to display a list of employee names matching the search and give a radio button next to each of them to select the record. On selection, the user will click an OK button below the records. On clicking OK, the pop up window should close and the employee id of the employee selected should be visible in the text box next to the image.Does anyone have an idea of how to do this, because i am not too sure that i have explained it properly.

I have a simple form containing two text boxes, I am attempting to apply some validation to the first text box using JavaScript. This is the first time I have attempted this and am having some trouble.
I have a label beside the text box stating an error, this labels visibility property is set to False. I wish the labels visibility to turn true if the text box is empty when the user loses focus.
For this I have used the onBlur option within the tags of the text box. It then calls the JavaScript function and should set the label to Visible but it does not. I have tested to see if it is entering the function by using an alert instead and that works. The problem seems to be trying to alter the visibility property of the label.

I have a form with a combination of dropdownlists and textboxes that I want to be able to show a user as a summary in another page before submitting to a sql server. Page 1 will have a verify button which will then pass the dropdown and text box info to page 2 where end users will be able to either submit the page or cancel the action. What's the best way to pass the values from page 1 to page 2?
View 9 RepliesI am currently designing a multi-tenant website where many clients will share the same code base but have their own "look-and-feel" to the site when the are logged in. This is nothing new, but I am looking for ideas on the best way to implement the solution using ASP.NET and MVC3 (which looks awesome).
The main thing I am looking at now is how to change the CSS style-sheet and text for the labels and static portions of the pages per client. So this would be something like localization where I would want to just have a string in the Razor template, like @FirstNameLabel and then at runtime it would grab the specific value setup for the logged in client for that variable.
I know I could implement this with a database, but I am just making sure there isn't some clever way to do this in .NET (I have been in the Java world for several years now). It seems like I could possibly use a variation of localization or globalization with ResourceManager, but I haven't found any examples that were not based on cultures, which I do not want/need at this time.

I am using ASP.net MVC for the developement. My Model class looks like

When I bind this model to the view, all the values are displayed on the view successfully. But on Postback method public ActionResult MyPost(MyModel obj) obj.labels is null whereas name and desc contains updated values. why is it so?
I am getting int values from the stored procedure. But when i bind this datasource with the gridview i am seeing the values being converted into float. i am using Text='<% # Bind("Quantity") %' I wanna that to be displayed as int, with out zero'seg: let the value be 233, when i bind that its getting displayed as 233.00

And, I want to be able to load this control from a web page on button click. When the user enters any data to any of its child controls, i should be able to save, and also retrieve when the data-bound control is loaded again. Also, the data in the child control should retain their value on postback. What approach should i follow?
