Web Forms :: With Javascript, Does A Response.redirect Clear Out All Global Variables And Values Declared?

Feb 7, 2011

For some reason it seems as though variables that I declare in javascript sometimes persist themselves across applications even when I do a response.redirect. I thought that a response.redirect would clear them out.

.net - Session Variables Clearing On Response.redirect ('page.aspx",false)

Mar 1, 2010

I have an webforms app that loses it's session variables on response.redirect. I've read Bertrand Le Roy's blog about this and still can't get it to work. The page works in production. However, when I try in the VS2k8 IDE, the session variables are there right before response.redirect and on the first line of the next page, the variables are nothing. I've confirmed the session id is the same so I'm not skipping sessions. The target page is relative so the web server doesn't think we're changing sites (as confirmed by the sessionid).

Response.Redirect("menu.aspx", False)

Javascript - Access Global Variables That Are Set Inside An Event Listener?

Dec 18, 2010

I am working with Google maps api V3. I need to get the values of the getSouthWest & getNorthEast bounds of my map. To do this the 'bounds_changed' event needs to be fired in order to get the new values. This is all good, however, I need to access these values from outside the event and passed to a server side function (more specifically, I don't want to call my server side function every time the map bounds are changed).

My code is:

//Global
var sw, nw, Searchbounds;
function myFunc(){
google.maps.event.addListener(map, 'bounds_changed', function() {
Searchbounds = map.getBounds();
sw = Searchbounds.getSouthWest();
ne = Searchbounds.getNorthEast();
});
CallServerSideWebService(sw.lat(), ne.lng(), ne.lat(), ne.lng());
}

When executing this code I get the error message sw is undefined.

Web Forms :: Response.Redirect - Pass Multiple Values Dynamically?

Mar 29, 2010

Scenario: a user must fill in some data in mutiple controls (textbox, etc) and after that all these values must be passed to a next page. The number of controls is defined in a database. This can be different each time so I need to find a way to dynamically pass values through response.redirect("page.aspx?var1=value1&var2=value2......");

I have a response.redirect with javascript for popup, its working fine with the popup, but the page's fonts increase on click the link to a larger size.

Code:

Response.Write("<script language = 'Javascript'>var win=window.open('" + "/" + dirrep2 + "/" + year + "/" + month + "/" + date + ".pdf" + "','true');</script>");

Response.Redirect Does Not Work For Multiple Values

Jan 6, 2011

I am trying to redirect to a page and send two values.

Now the second value is the value of a text box and If I type something one character or anything without space character then the redirect works but If I type two strings for second value or anything with a space then the redirected page hangs and shows a blank page. I am using-

Response.Redirect("Changes.aspx?id="+CustomerId+"&Req="+txtRequest.Text);

If I use value id= anything applicable and Req="A" then it works

but If I use value id= anything applicable and Req="A(space)B" then the next page hangs with a blank page.

Are Content Web Forms Able To Access Variables Declared In The Code Behind Section Of It's Master Page

Dec 1, 2010

I have a Master Page which controls the styling of my site. In the Code Behind, there are a few class instances instantiated as well as variables. These classes validate user access and then create user objects

I have a few Web Content Forms which carries out instructions based on the user objects. So far it seems that on each Web Content Form I have to create new instances of the classes found on the Master Page. This is doubling my work for every Web Content Form.

Is there anyway I can inhereit Classes and objects instantiated in the Master Page Code Behind?

Cursorfetch - The Number Of Variables Declared In The INTO List Must Match That Of Selected Columns?

Jan 23, 2011

I have the following stored procedure and if I execute this on our SQL analyser it returns the record no problem what so ever. BUT if I execute this through ASP.NET (I am using EntitySpace objects) to generate this query into data table and it saying that: "Cursorfetch: The number of variables declared in the INTO list must match that of selected columns."

I've discussed this with EntitySpace team and they said it's query issue? We are stuck with this issue and any guidance or hints that will be good.

The environment that we use:

.NET 4
EntitySpace 2010
SQL Server 2005 Database
ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[rpt_CPRRespondListReport]
(
@SurveyID INT
)
AS
BEGIN
SET NOCOUNT ON;

Web Forms :: Global Variables, Menus And Post Back?

Jan 8, 2010

with a problem im having or at least give me an idea about which direction i should be going in.I have an asax file - with the following void Session_Start(object sender, EventArgs e)in that I am storing a session which holds a boolean.This boolean holds a flag which when set to true tells the application to go to the database and retrieve data, if its set to false, it checks the information in memory.I am using master pages and inside my master page i have and ascx files - which holds my navigation items(I build the navigation menu based on certain criteria)on a content page (a page that uses the master page) I perform a function when a button is clicked and I set the session flag to truethe problem is that the flag is not being checked until i refresh the page twice and therefore the menu is not updating until the user clicks to another page.my suspicion is that it is because of the page life cycle (the event handlers are done AFTER page load) - is there anyway around this?Is there any web page links you have got that I cant google? (yes i have googled but to little luck - maybe im using the wrong search term).on an additional note im trying to avoid like the plague - storing anything in the viewstate

Web Forms :: Clear Existing Route Value When Using Response.RedirectToRoute?

Dec 9, 2010

If I have the following routes:

RouteTable.Routes.MapPageRoute("route1", "products/{cat1}/{cat2}.aspx", "categories.aspx");
RouteTable.Routes.MapPageRoute("route2", "products/{cat1}.aspx", "categories.aspx");

And am at this url:

products/door/steel.aspx

I would like to use Response.RedirectToRoute to redirect to "products/tools.aspx".

Response.RedirectToRoute(new { cat1 = "tools" }); redirects to "products/tools/steel.aspx"
Response.RedirectToRoute(new { cat1 = "tools", cat2 = "" }); redirects to "products/tools.aspx?cat2=steel"
Response.RedirectToRoute("route2", new { cat1 = "tools" }); redirects to "products/tools.aspx?cat2=steel"

Basically it seems the existing route values are being used in the redirect instead of what I specify. This behaviour can make sense, since it makes it easy to redirect to a url with only one route value different. But why when I specify it to be empty or specify what route to use does it add the existing value as a querystring argument, and is there a way around this?

Web Forms :: Clear The Contents Of Wizard Between Calls And Without Url Redirect?

Mar 31, 2010

I have a complex page which has a series of panels and buttons.

one of those buttons pulls up an a wizard control.

the user does not need to go to the finsih button of the wizard if they wish to cancel the wizard.

What I want to do is to clear the values of a wizard as it is being called by a button click.

Uncle google tells me a solution is to use a URL redirect to effectively reload the page into memory. This would also destroy the view state of my page for the nonwizard controls which I dont want to do.

I cant put the wizard into an Iframe (company policy) so I cant just reload the iframe.

I dont want to go step by step and control by control to clear the values - Also the wizard is not using databinding.
