AJAX :: Fastest Way To Retreive Data From Database From Webservice?
Jan 25, 2010I'm using Webservice which will return the data from the database through datatable and I'll convert the datatable into byte array. In front end, I'll reconvert the bytearray to datatable and used ajaxloader to display it in the form.. It is dynamic loading. So, for each click, it is taking 10 seconds to retreive the data regardless of the size of the data. So, I used static datatable and I've loaded all data in that datatable in page load event. But, no reaction. It is taking only same time. Even, there is no data to retreive, the ajax loader is going on loading for 10 seconds. Problem is with Ajax or my webservice?? Plz, tell me some other idea??!!

TextBoxIncident
TextBoxDate
TextBoxDescription
in addition a sql datasource is on the page which is connected to the incident table with an insert query which allows the data entered into the fields to be inserted into the database...
The Textboxincident and textboxdescription fields allow the user to enter data into them...
the TextBoxDate field is a read only and the code behind file enables the text box to show the current date and time the code im using is shown below...

When run in browser the textboxdate field shows the current date and time...and Once the textbox incident and text box description fields have been filled in and the submit button is clicked, the fields should be bound to MS SQL table called Incident. This did work before, however it as suddenly stopped working and now displays the following message to me:-

When i retrieve date from the datebase it appears as dd/MM/yy, that's fine. But i cannot insert a new date as same format?! It will only accept MM/dd/yy or yy/mm/dd.Right now i'm using this code to correct the error:

Nov 13, 2010I have a .net 3.5 web form with an ajax combo box and a text box inside it. The bombo box is bound to a SqlDataSource.
My requirement is to show/hide the text box depending on the text of the selected item in the combo box. If a particular string, say 'xyz', appears in the text of the selected item, the I will make the text box invisible. I enabled the AutoPostback, made the text box disappear in the SelectedIndexChanged event, and everything worked fine.
However, when users enter their own texts (which are not in the list items), I am unable to show / hide the text box. I've tried the TextChanged event but nothing happens. It seems the event is not trigger after I enter a new text and locate the focus to other place.
is there a way to prevent the user ented text from being inserted into the bombo box?
