1firstly user fill the form and proceed for teansaction , i want after completing process when transaction is complete then user data is save in database.

How would i save the selected values and the checked boxes in database i wrote the stored proc for the gridview but how would i save the checked checkboxes into the same table.

I'm pretty new to C# and ASP.NET, so bear with me on this one. I'm setting up a page that receives query strings from the url. It then passes these strings to another method (in another class, actually), which goes on to do lots of things depending on the value of the query string.
The general structure looks something like this, where DoSomething() is actually part of another class that will be used by lots of different pages:

Here's what I'm wondering:
If the query string "name" isn't defined in the url, what does Request.QueryString return? an empty string? null? If it returns null, what happens if I try to pass null to a method that is expecting a string? Does the whole program fall apart, or can I check for null inside the DoSomething() method (after receiving the null string)?
The "name" is optional, so if the user doesn't set it, I'd like to detect that and initialize it to some default value. If possible, though, I'd like to put any validation inside DoSomething(), instead of doing the check on every page that requests the string.
I have developed a web application which downloads files from FTP server. I want to run this application every day at 09:00 and automatically closed when the job is done.
I tried javascripts "window.close, self.close etc" but couldn't workd.
It is worth mentioning that the website is hosted on Windows Server 2003.

I have an application where in a simple aspx page I have a linkbutton called "View" that redirects me to another page passing scenarioId as a parameter.
In the new page, I would like to pull up a db record pertaining to that Scenario and store those values somewhere so that, if I do a post back on that page, I am able to access those values, along with other new parameters to pass into another stored procedure that does db updates.
As there are about 10-15 different values, it does not make sense to me to have a property declared for each variable. I feel there is a better way to store those values together as a single entity like a class or a structure and save and load from viewstate during page loads and postbacks respectively?
What I want to happen is, I will populate or load the patient Name into TextBox. If the patient are 20, the page will dynamically create 20 textboxes to display the patient name..And when I click save, Changes will be save base on the input on textbox..

I'm developing with VS 2008 ASP.Net 3.5 C# and System.Net.Mail.MailMessage. I can create and send the email with no issues. The problem is with any attempt to open or delete the attachments I get the above error. The .pdf's a copied with the following code:

I have an editable gridview with blank cells. User enters some numeric data in cells and also user can clicks a button to add new row to gridview. My problem is that, as soon as button click event is fired, the page refreshes & the gridview becomes empty. However, what i did was I put in a 6 second delay and then used another browser to access the page. And it threw an Exception saying it is being used by another process which is true. So how come I set it so that, if IT is being used by another process, WAIT and retry every 500 milliseconds until it becomes free/available?
