HiI am trying to send null value from my combobox and check it if its null in sp.
IF @Param1 IS NOT NULL BEGIN SET @Param1=@Param1 END ELSE BEGIN SET @Param1=' IS NULL' END mmsDataContext mms = new mmsDataContext(); RadGrid1.DataSource = mms.SON(Country.SelectedItem.Value); RadGrid1.DataBind();
I'm trying to implement live binding, purely imperatively . In my example , I have a master view , which is populated using json array. In the detail view ,I'm just setting the value of a prepopulated combo box . But , the moment the bind statement is executed, the combobox (select element) becomes null. This works perfectly when done declaratively. Below is the code for imperative binding. This function is triggered when an item in the masterview is selected.
function execCommand(sender, args) { // Create dataview for details section var detailsView = $create(Sys.UI.DataView, null, null, null, $get("div2")); $get("div2").className = "sys-template"; // bind the dataview to the selected data from the master var b = Sys.bind(detailsView, "data", sender, "selectedData"); // after the above line of code is executed, the select element with id "myselect" becomes null. //alert($get("myselect")); // bind the value attribute of the combo box to the "Description" property of the binded data var x = Sys.bind($get("myselect"), "sys:value", detailsView.get_data(), "Description"); //hence when the above line of code is executed , nothing happens :( ,i.e the value of the combo box doesn't get set // alert($get("myselect")); }
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="SysObserverSampe.aspx.cs" Inherits="SysObserverSampe" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">>....................................
how to bind values in combobox from database in that combobox my first value should be display as <----select----->, but i have no such values in my database.
In my code I have 2 ComboBox DropDownLists, created by the code below. The problem is that when the value of the DropDownlist get changed, the other one value also changes.
public class Translate { public string CountryName { get; set; } public string CountryCode { get; set; } } IList<Translate> languages = new List<Translate>(); languages.Add(new Translate("Select", "")); languages.Add(new Translate("English", "en")); languages.Add(new Translate("French", "fr")); languages.Add(new Translate("Spain", "es")); ddlFrom.DataSource = languages; ddlFrom.DisplayMember = "CountryName"; ddlFrom.ValueMember = "CountryCode"; ddlTo.DataSource = languages; ddlTo.DisplayMember = "CountryName"; ddlTo.ValueMember = "CountryCode";
i am using a gridview in my web page,i used to bind the database records to the gridview..my columns are name,empid,company name,pl leave,sl leave,total leave taken here total leave taken is not a database fields,in the page i want to fill the records once loaded pl leave and sl leave is added and display in the total leave taken column..it working properly when all pl ans sl columns fill with numbers,if some pl and sl leave having blank values.it showing an error like input sting was not in correct format..this is my code
I have a problem with the Ajax ComboBox from the Ajax Control ToolKit. When I want to erase the text in the ComboBox, I got this error:
"Microsoft JScript runtime error: '_optionListItems[...].text' is null or not an object". I only get this error when deleting the content of the Combox is the first action I do on the ComboBox. If I overwrite the text by entering something else before deleting this text, I got no error.
I'm try to add a combobox to my form which i have done and populate it with the infomation i need but i want to stop the user from being able to edit the first 5 character in the textbox part of the combo box( 1 is this possible 2 am i going about it in the right way).
I have 3 columns fro a db to enter ips ie 123.456.7.89 at the start if each number i want (SE1)(SE2)(SE3) which i can do at the momment . So I get in the combobox list 3 items with (SE1)123.456.7.89 OR just (SE1) depending of i a result is returned from the DB. However i don't want the user to be able to edit out the (SE?) part of the sting in the textbox. When editing i've tried used the text change event to try and capture the change and make sure the string.length > 5 , but the event does not fire also when i leave the combobox it it adds to the combox list. If I refersh it goes back to how it should be with only the 3 items.
I have a problem with CascadingDropDown... I have two related comboboxes, where the second is a slave of the first (e.g. country the first, cities the second). What I want is that if I select one country from combobox 1 then the second must be "filtered" by that selection (it should display all the cities inside the selected country, and the actual CascadingDropDown implementation is OK), but if I leave the combobox 1 in the default option (e.g. "Please select a country") I want the second to display all the cities I have in the database. The problem is that when selecting default option for combobox 1 the second combobox is disabled and a postback to my webservice never occurs.
I have a typical gridview/formview master control setup. When I try to update or insert I don't get any errors but it also doesn't work. When I try to insert data all I get are null values and when I update, none of the values are updated. The formview looks like its working, but just doesn't. The primary key is an identity and it auto-increments by one.
it binding correctly(datasource dynamically binded) and it raises event too while changing index but it is not raising event when we manually clearing the combobox text..if currently combobox having text "ASP" then i manually select that entire text and using del key i am deleting but it is not raising event for me.. when i change index it automatically raising event...i need to raise event while combobox is empty...
protected void rptNavigation_ItemDataBound(object sender, System.Web.UI.WebControls.RepeaterItemEventArgs e){ if (!((e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.AlternatingItem) || (e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.Item))) {return; }string Name = string.Empty; if (IsDBNull(e.Item.DataItem["FullName"])) { Name = String.Empty;} else {Name = (string)(e.Item.DataItem["FullName"]);} Literal ltlLiteral = (Literal)(e.Item.FindControl("ltlLiteral")); ltlLiteral.Text = Name.ToString();
I get error for IsDbNull - Error 1 The name 'IsDBNull' does not exist in the current context. What's the best way to check for null values returned from db? also I get errors on both lines where (e.Item.FindControl(ltlLiteral")); is present ERror: Cannot apply indexing with [] to an expression of type 'object'
for eg i hav a datetime field called Completion date which temporarily has a null value and when i display the records using a gridview it displays a default date...how do i get rid of this default date.the completion Date gets entered at a later stage in the application following which the gridview should show this date....but initially it shouldn't show anything
I am writing an ASP.Net web application. I have listview, it's datasource is a LinqDataSource. In my database, I have a staff table and I am trying filter for records by their team using a dropdownlist. This works fine, until I select "All" in the dropdownlist. It returns all staff except for the ones where the teamID is null. How can I return the records where teamID is null?
public class ProductDetails { private string _productid; public string ProductID { get { return _productid; } } private string _description; public string Description { get { return _description; } } private string _image; public string Image { get { return _image; } } public ProductDetails(string productid, string description, string image) { _productid = productid; _description = description; _image = image; } } public class DataAccess { private static string connectionString = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["ConnectionString"].ConnectionString; public ProductDetails GetProductDetails() { SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(connectionString); SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand("ProductDetails", con); cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; string productid = HttpContext.Current.Request.QueryString["productid"]; cmd.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("productid", SqlDbType.NVarChar)).Value = productid; con.Open(); SqlDataReader reader = cmd.ExecuteReader(); reader.Read(); ProductDetails pro = new ProductDetails( (string)reader["ProductID"], (string)reader["Description"], (string)reader["Image"]); reader.Close(); return pro; } } protected void PopulateControls() private DataAccess da = new DataAccess(); { ProductDetails product = da.GetProductDetails(); if (product.Description == String.Empty) { lblDescription.Visible = false; } else { lblDescription.Text = product.Description; } }
In the last piece i want to check if the Description field is null or empty in order to hide the label control but i get an error if i write: if (product.Description == DBNull.Value) and can only use ring.Empty. But i want to check for NULL values as well..
my table field allows null values. but my code below does not work unless a value is assigned to my variable even though the glable variable is initialised to 0; tried the DBNull.Value - still, it gives me error as the table in question is linked and expecting a value.
I have a number of nullable DateTime fields (Entity Framework model), and in my MVC view, I want to display custom text when the value is null. I would normally use the C# ? or ?? operators, but these can't be used unless I make all output occur in a response.write. Also, I need to handle existing DataAnnotations (like format string). It's all pointing to a helper method, or an extension method on Html. I am hoping there is a DataAnnotation attribute that I missed that covers this scenario.
Is there a way to use the <%: operator and have custom text for null values?
