Feb 13, 2011I want to redirect the user after 2 mins if there is inactivity for 2 mins. I am not using ASP.NEt membership. And I dont want to use Sessiontimeout for this. Session timeout will logout the user even if he is working on the system. My objective is like screensaver process.
If there is no action for the specified time, the screensaver runs. Similarly, I want to redirect the user to login page.

the user is working on the site...ok.. he want to see someother site.he browse someother site and works on....or even he can do some other work in his system...but he is active in his system... What this script does is, it automatically logout the user and redirect him to login page. But it should not do while he is active...IT SHOULD REDIRECT IF HE IS NOT ACTIVE REALLY (Similar to Screensaver process)

May 15, 2012I need to check information the user has entered on a page against what I have in my database to see if he is entering duplicate data. It is up to him if he wants to proceed or not. I just need to alert him.
The problem is I don't own the button that he clicks so I can't hook up a javascript confirm to the button click. I am running within vendor code. I have an "override PageLoad()" procedure where I can test what page they're currently on. If they are on page "EditForm.aspx" and would normally navigate to "UserFinish.aspx" without any custom code of mine "interfering", I want to test what they've entered on EditForm.aspx and present them with a popup if they've entered duplicate info, and if they click OK button then proceed to UserFinish but if they click Cancel then stay on EditForm.

Feb 8, 2010When any of my page is idle for about 20 minute, and after that if I hit any button, like Sumit Button or any other button, at this time, Page.IsPostback is again False, and none of the click event is fired and page gets reloaded again.
This happens only if I go like this, open up any of my webpage, keep it idle OR do nothing for about 20 minute, exactly on 21st or 22nd minute, Click on any of the button on the page, and the page gets reloaded, click event does not get fired. I debugged for this and I checked the Page.IsPostback value at this point and I got it as False after 20 minute, I don't know why. It should be True. And because of this my page gets reloaded and nothing gets submitted and every control is in the blank position once again and user have to enter everything again.
But if I enter everything and hit any of the button or Submit button within 20 minute, then everything works fine, Submit button's click event is also gets fired and everything works perfect.
And this is happening in all of my page. I am not sure what configuration is wrong.
But just for more details, I have a master page, I am using Telerik Controls and I have session Timeout set as 60 minute everywhere, in web.config and in IIS settings and in my App_Pool also. On my Master Page, I have ASP:ScriptManager, Tekerik:RadMenu, ASP:ContentPlaceHolder controls and some other controls and javascript code too.

When i do a postback from my linkbutton it fails.
The browser then shows "Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage" I then also receive a Request Time Out in the event log.

Page Loads Very Slowly After Its Left Idle?
Feb 25, 2010If the leave the webpage (any webpage) on my web application for a while (say 15 min), if I again click on another page it takes a long time to load (20 seconds)
I had a look through the google chrome --> developer module and found that, it is the web page which is the culprit here and the 'LATENCY' time for it is 17 seconds !!! and the actual 'download' time is only 117 ms.
A. what could be the cause of this issue?
B. What can I do to fix it?
Security :: User Being Asked To Log In Again After Approx 20 Minutes?
Oct 7, 2010I have a web application that uses forms authentication, memberships and roles. I'm finding it difficult to test but it looks as though the application is forcing my users to log in again after about 20 minutes of inactivity. However, the nature of my application requires users to stay logged in for longer than this even if they aren't using the application constantly.
I've already set the following line in my web.config file so that doesn't seem to be making a difference:

Is there something else that I need to set to prevent my users from being redirected to the login page too early on? I'd like them to be inactive for about an hour before forceably logging them off. I don't want them to lose their work if they don't use the system for 20 minutes.

Like if in name User enter 123456 then there should be a messagebox to warn "please enter a valid name"Restrictions : We have a option of Javascript but its not recommendable in most of scenario so, we need to create a custom validators or something else which will solve our problem.

First, I have a physicians only component of our employee portal to allow access to only physician shareholders or physician non-shareholders. My structure is built like:
Physicians Only
Administration
Affiliations
Calendars
Compensation
Minutes
The Affiliations folder is only going to be accessible by the physician shareholders. Therefore, I have security roles set for Physicians Only and Affiliations. When I test, the security is set correctly on the folders. However, when I try to login as different people, all with different roles, I have to login with user name and password, twice, before the system allows me in.
Secondly, I have secured areas within the employee portal also. However, when I navigate to them, the system doens't usually prompts me to login. If it does prompt me to login, it too, is on the second try. So how does it know who I am? And more importantly, how do I get the system to actually prompt the user to login with their credentials?

Nov 12, 2010I have IIS 7.5 running on windows 7 64 bit machine.
My problem is that in my web application after any page request if the page remains idle for more than 2 mins, it stops responding. For e.g. lets take the following scenario:
1. Initial page request
2. the page stays idle for 2 mins
3. Click a button to save data
4. It takes very long for the aspnet worker process to reach page_load, and firefox shows "connection was reset" message.
I put breakpoint on page_load. It strikes the breakpoint after a long time and also it does not go to the event handler of the button that was clicked.
The web application works perfectly if the page is not kept idle.
I am not using sessions in my web application.
