C# - .NET Page Won't Remove UI Elements?
Apr 20, 2010
I'm working with an aspx page, where once I click on a button, some calls are executed in the background and I display the returned information on the webpage. I do this by adding this information to a panel:
panel.controls.add(label)
panel.controls.add(anotherpanel)

Using C# I have
Queue N: 3, 4 9, 11
Queue A: 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13
I want to remove all elements from Queue A that are present in Queue N And end up with Queue R: 1, 2, 8, 12, 13. How do I do this in C#. Trying to work with someones API and they offer a way to get the two queues and I need to filter based on one queue returned.
Updated Code Example: I am using a custom data type ModuleDetails
Queue<ModuleDetails> defaultQueue = apiCallDefault();
Queue<ModuleDetails> modQueue = apiCallAllModules();

I need to initiate an Array to hold 100 integers. Then, by user click, a random number 1-100 is generated, and subtracted from the list. In the next call, the next random number will be subtracted from the 99 numbers left, next from the 98 numbers and so on. I need to do this with AJAX and if needed a webservice. The reason I am asking here is because I am confused...Where shall I instanciate the array and how do I keep track of the removed numbers?

I'm using an autocomplete contol of ajax toolkit. Yesterday a user found that it had stopped working (it wasn't generating the list as you type letters in the textbox). After hours of troubleshooting, I found that in web.config <httpHandlers>, this line
<remove verb="*" path="*.asmx" /> was placed after the <add> line like this:
<httpHandlers>
<add verb="*" path="*.asmx" validate="false" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"/>

I'm building a shopping cart page that could potentially contain dozens of separate items. Each item has a collapsible panel that contains several form elements that can be used to customize it. Most of the cart is wrapped in an UpdatePanel so that I can avoid a full postback when the user makes changes. When there are many items in the cart, there are of course many many postback elements, all of which are included in the raw form post, even though each post is really only triggered by the change of a single element

I'm working on an ASP.NET page where I've got 10 entities. I'll call them Items. An Item can be displayed in one of two modes: Featured or Thumbnail. At any given time there is one Featured Item at the top of the page, and the rest are Thumbnails arranged in a 3x3 grid underneath the featured Item Each item is an ASP usercontrol that contains two divs: one div for Featured and one for Thumbnail -- when the item is Featured, the Thumbnail div is set as invisible and vice versa.

eb user control that basically lets the user choose whether she is a registered member or unregistered member, and to fill fields accordingly, i.e., if the user is member she is asked to provide her username and password and the sign up field are being disabled. if the user is not registred then she is asked to provide registration information and the login fields are being disabled. A very common practice, I assume.
each option has its own 'ValidationGroup' on the fields. i.e. the login fields have ValidationGroup="Login", the registration fields have ValidationGroup="SignUp"

I have a requirement to print only part of a page. I cannot use css(media=print) to do this since I have no clue what the page contains. All the html in the page is dynamically generated. Also is there any limitation on the css properties that are recognized in Print mode. Many of my css properties like background-image are not applied on the generated preview.

I'm designing a new site using CSS instead tables to position elements.Until now I was working only with tables.The tests were working well but when I use master pages and try to define the positioning of the page elements inside a content page it not works. The elements are inside a div. The div position is ok but the position of the div elements is not ok at runtime.More strange is that in design mode all works well ...I'm using VS2008.

I'd like to display certain elements of my page after an interval. I've tried using the 'UpdatePanel and Script Manager', but it seems to Refresh my page after each interval.
How do I prevent that from happening?
There are 3 parts that I want to display, each after 1.5seconds (Div with large letters "Success" (Will happen after a Page.PostBack), Div that Displays Comparisons, Div that Displays the Sample)
Is there a way to write the code inline, so when the page loads the timer intervals dont reload the page?

I am dynamically creating a table of checkboxes on my test.aspx page. The dimensions (row and column count) of the table are determined by querying the database. In test.aspx page, I do the following:
<script language="C#" runat="server">
protected void Page_Load ( object src, EventArgs e ) {
//Query the database to get the data for rows and columns
CheckBox[] chkBox = new CheckBox[rows * columns]; //creates a collection of checkboxes
//Iterate over the query set in a double for loop to create dynamic checkboxes
}
</script>
Right now I have the number of rows=20 and columns=10, but it can increase (with the columns more likely). I used the Net tab in Firebug to ascertain the time taken by different events and found that GetTest.aspx is taking close to 4 minutes, which is too long a time to wait. Is there a way to being down the page load time? Is my approach to create dynamic check boxes correct?
