I have implemented the following functionality that connects to webservice and downloads a favicon from a given site and saves it to a byte[] which I store in our database. I now want to set it up so that it saves the icon to the disk. However I am getting a "Parameter is not valid" when I try and create the image from the byte[].My code is as follows..
The exception occurs on the middle line. This code works perfectly 9 times out of ten, but for some favicons, even thought the icon is a valid image (or at least it appears to be and it shows in the browser when point at it) I get this exception. Does anyone have any ideas? I am pulling my hair out here!
I got a hard time with the Image.FromStream method in my website. The code below works perfect on my computer. But when I uploaded it to the test server, it always gives me "Parameter not valid" exception.
if (!afuImageFile.IsUploading && afuImageFile.HasFile) { System.Drawing.Image imgFile = System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(afuImageFile.FileContent); }
the afuImageFile is an AsynFileUploader control in Ajax Tool Kits. afuImageFile.FileContent is a HttpInputStream.
I am trying to display an image from database, and I keep ending up with an error Parameter is not valid. Bitmap bm2 = new Bitmap(targetW, targetH);
I have tried different ways but I can't get it to work (as you can see in my commented code). I am having trouble on the saving it to the database process, displaying it isn't a problem (when I had valid images)
I am getting below error while saving the excel workbook through C#.net code. same is working fine with local desktop.it is giving problem with Windows 2003 server.
Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {00024500-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 8000401a.
Locally, this code runs fine, but on our production server, it throws an exception of 'Parameter is not valid' when Bitmap.Save() is called.
Should I not be using System.Drawing.Bitmap because its not recommened based on this:
[URL]
Classes within the System.Drawing namespace are not supported for use within a Windows or ASP.NET service. Attempting to use these classes from within one of these application types may produce unexpected problems, such as diminished service performance and run-time exceptions.
What else could I use?
Bitmap myBitmap = new Bitmap(img); myBitmap.SetResolution(img.HorizontalResolution, img.VerticalResolution); // get the tiff codec info ImageCodecInfo myImageCodecInfo = GetEncoderInfo("image/tiff"); // Create an Encoder object based on the GUID for the Compression parameter category System.Drawing.Imaging.Encoder myEncoder = System.Drawing.Imaging.Encoder.Compression; // create encode parameters EncoderParameters myEncoderParameters = new EncoderParameters(1); EncoderParameter myEncoderParameter = new EncoderParameter(myEncoder, (long)EncoderValue.CompressionCCITT4); myEncoderParameters.Param[0] = myEncoderParameter; // save as a tiff myBitmap.Save(input, myImageCodecInfo, myEncoderParameters);
I was so proud because I researched saving files and figured out how to extract the file name from what might be the full path. However, this doesn't work as I had expected. I still get the exception!

I have been able to import an excel file sql bulkcopy locally. But when I publish the code to the server I get the following error messages:
Exception Message: 'C:MyTest.xls' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides.
We have a scenario where we would like to allow our users to upload images to the site. We are running on ASP.Net. A quick search did not result in anything good. It would be great if the control is free/open source but we do not mind paying a little bit.
I have a problem in my application. I have deployed application on server. i have a string in dd/mm/yyyy format. to which when i am trying to parse in datetime it is working fine on my server when i am working locally on server. but when i am trying it remotely(client) it is giving exception saying string is not recognized as valid datetime format. The problem is that this is occurring only on our servers, not on our local development boxes. I've tracked it down to a single property we're modifying:
event.SalesForceId = "701Q0000000AOTIIA4";
If I comment out that line, everything works fine.
I've tried:
1 ) waxing all of the code on the server and redeploying. Same issue. 2 ) Pulling down a copy of the server DB and trying it locally. Works fine. 3 ) Trying another IIS environment we have setup on the same box. Same issue. 4 ) Physically comparing ( using AdeptSQL ) both local and remote schemas. No differences. 5 ) Verifying the datatypes of both columns ( local and remote ) are the same. Also, this column is a FK to another table. I verified that both are of the same data type, down to the collation.
The server is Windows Server 2008 and the local box is Windows 7 x64. Both have all important updates setup.
The only thing I can think of is perhaps since the database and web server are on different boxes that could be an issue? Otherwise, I'm completely stumped.
I have two linqTOsql entities that has a parent and child relationship, one to many. I'm running into an issue that when I retrieve the parent record, I am unable to loop through the related records in the child table.This code fails:
I have a problem while creating a web application using LinqTemplate here is the explanation step wise.... 1.I have created a database with a table name UserTest with one column name UserId with uniqidentifier datatype2. I would like to be able to read an image based on a url hosted elsewhere. To be clear, this is a legitimate service that is provided and they do allow caching of data, so I'm not trying to steal someone elses data.
The area that I'm looking to improve on is the emboldened line. I think it would be better to read in say 1024k chunks until the file end. Can anyone help me out with the syntax for this?
how to show an image without saving it.URL...I've used this but im experiencing troubles IE 6 & 7 dont show the pic. And IE 8 seems to have a limit of somekind. I have an person screen and a different upload popup-like-screen..I want to let the user upload it in this upload-screen and oly save it as the user say's save in the person screen so i don't want to save 1.001 pictures on the server if they don't click save in the person screen.
