C# - Repeater / List Each Entries On A Page That The HTML Text Should Be Displayed Exactly And Editable?

I have a table similar to:
ID...NAME.....HTMLTEXT
1....Footer....`<b>test</b>`
where each entry has some HTML text and an associated Name and ID.
What I want to do in ASP.net C# is to list each of these entries on a page in such a way that the HTML text should be displayed exactly how it is meant to be (e.g. <b>test</b> should show 'test' in bold) and each entry should be editable. When the Edit button is clicked on an entry, the HTML text should be replaced by a textbox with the text inside it so that you can edit it and save it.
For example:
FOOTER --EditButton--
TEXT
test
Now I am not sure on what is the best way to do this. Should I use a repeater with an ItemTemplate for each entry? If I use a repeater, and an edit button is clicked, how do I know which edit button is clicked and how do I know which textbox to display the text etc?

I have a page which is using the AJAX Control Toolkit HTML Editor. I have it configured with only the Bold, Italics and Underline buttons. Once the user saves the information, it's stored in a database table. No problems.
I need to change the resulting code so the HTML code can be correctly interepted by a Crystal Reports report. CR doesn't understand the <span> options being created by the HTML editor. So for example, I need to change the
<span style="font-weight: bold">Bold</span> code created by the HTML Editor so it's entered into the database as <b>Bold</b> instead.
I can attempt this in the code behind, but I then also need to replace the </span> with a </b>. This causes an issue because if there are multiple options (e.g. bolded word within an underlined line), then the proper tags won't be closed as they should.

I am currently working on a project where I am trying pull a list of entries from an Oracle database depending on a selection that is made by the user via a Drop Down list. Then I want provide a user with a list of options that they can select that is related to the drop down option that they have selected. For Example:
First Drop Down from database: Honda, BMW, Ford
If user selects:
Honda -- options that are available in the separte table in the database for this entry are -- Type, Engine Size, Colour
BMW -- options that are available in the separte table in the database for this entry are -- Colour, Wheel Trims, Extra's
Ford -- options that are available in the separte table in the database for this entry are -- Extra's
What I wanted to do is have a form displayed to the user where thy can say select a car eg. "BMW" and then on the change of that drop downs index the site will do a call back and retrieve the entries for the BMW options in the seperate tabel, these being Colour, Wheel Trims, Extra's. Then it will put these details in a DataSet and then i wanted to create a new text box or input field for the users to enter details in. I have tried the below code with no success as I get an error on my for loop of looking through the options DataSet.

can i enter a choice that is not in the dropdown list? Just like a combo box, there is a list of item but a user can still have an option to enter in the textbox. does a dropdown list also have this function? or if not is there a workaround?

The purpose is to generate proposal documents that can manually be edited in Word after the fact, but before sending them out to the customers.
Much proposal content would be drawn from existing HTML website content (backing CMS) and also some custom (non-HTML) injection for certain scenarios. Of course the conditional logic could go into server-side ASP.NET to vary the content appropriately.
I'm open to 3rd-party tools if raw manipulation of the Word API is arduous. In fact a good 3rd party tool might be the answer.

I have a ListView that contains a lot of editable items. Every item has some values, like; item name, item price, item size and so forth. I would like to add another editable column which should be a drop down list. This should list which sizes the item is available at, like S, M, L, XL. Some item are only available in S and M, while other items may just have a standard size (meaning none of the above sizes). So for example if you are to add an item called polo shirt and its only available in sizes L and XL then you should be able to do that. And then at the front-end where the users surf the items it should be like that when a users sees this Polo shirt he should be presented with a drop down list where he is only able to select L and XL
I can't figure out how to implement this in the Listview and the database. I have mentioned that I want a drop down list to appear in the back-end, this is not a necessity, anything will do as long as the front-end is showing a drop down list with the choosen sizes.

Note: Code is taken from this tutorial [URL] I currently have an editable gridview with only some columns editable by the user. In the background I want to record the time/date they have saved the data to the grid. This column 'Time' is not bound to the grid. Is there anyway I can still include this update when rebinding the newly edited data?
I'm also having a problem saving the updated data of my column ActivityTotal. I've been debugging that and following the variable, and it holds the correct value, but just doesnt seem to update. I am finding it difficult to accept that the whole Repeater approach has any benefits over just creating a loop in code, iterating through a recordset, and building a html table into a variable, then dumping it to the page. This repeater is spawning pages of code and objects, and surely this is all using up server resources.

I found that I don't need to use jQuery or AjaxToolKit to use a textbox with autocomplete instead using the AutoCompleteType() class.However, base in the documentation it says the autocomplete will just trigger after the button was click at first instance, with that
