i am having 2 textboxes on a form. What i need is if i enter some data in the first text box the same text should be displayed at the time i typed which means
if in the first text box i enter A the same text should be displayed automatically in the 2nd textbox.
in my first page some links is present like as follows: advertising. when i click this link the text of hyperlink means advertising display in a textbox which is present in another page.

using vs2005 I have a formview control I added from the data section and within the formview, I aded a table from the Standard section. View 2 RepliesI'm sure you've seen sites that display a portion of the available text in a limited space followed by an ellipsis or a [more] link. That's what I need to do. The text is in a database field, and includes carriage returns and line feeds. I can't just count the number of characters. How can I only display the text that will fit in a defined space? I've tried using a panel control with the height defined. I've also tried a div with the height defined. Neither has worked. How is this done?
View 6 RepliesI am generating a list of labels with an Image Button control at the start of each line. Unfortunately, my browser displays this list on a web page with the image higher than the label text by a few pixels. This results in a blank line of a few pixels wide between each line of text. Even the image has a blank line above it. This especially puzzles me since I went to the trouble of specifying the height, in pixels, of the image and labels. Is there any way to make the image and text appear evenly on the same line?

When run in browser the textboxdate field shows the current date and time...and Once the textbox incident and text box description fields have been filled in and the submit button is clicked, the fields should be bound to MS SQL table called Incident. This did work before, however it as suddenly stopped working and now displays the following message to me:-

I have converted text to Image(.png) using ASP.NET C# in Visual Studio 2010. But the image created cannot be displayed in the browser after submitting and it shows an message The image "http://localhost:49670/WebSite1/Default.aspx" cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.During debugging there is no error or warning or anything like that. If the user enters some text in the text box,then the data in the list box should be filtered as per the content entered in the textbox. In my page, i have about 7-8 such similar textboxes and listboxes. So I want to implement a common function which can be used for all the text boxes in the page. I tried to achieve this in textchanged event and javascript but sometimes not working. Is there any other simple way except javascript? Is it efficient to use java script in this scenario? Now I can only enter english in both of them... Even if my keyboard language is switched to Korean.. I can not type in Korean in the Korean text box....

I have a custom control that contains a textbox. This textbox holds the date. I also have an image next to the textbox that if clicked on runs a javascript that populates the textbox with the current date. My problem is that when I type a date that is in the past into the textbox and press enter the date gets overwritten with todays date. As if the image had been clicked.So I wrote a javascript function-

I have a button and its text should contain academic year(eg: may 2009-may 2010) and it should be changed based on the current date and year .
Currently we are saving files (PDF, DOC) into the database as BLOB fields. I would like to be able to retrieve the raw text of the file to be able to manipulate it for hit-highlighting and other functions.Does anyone know of a simple way to either parse out the files and save the raw text on save, either via SQL or .net code. I have found that Adobe has a filtdump utility that will convert the PDF to text. Filtdump seems to be a command line tool, and i don't see a way to use a file stream. And what would the extractor be for Office documents and other file types?-or-Is there a way to pull out the raw text from the SQL Full text index, without using 3rd party filters?Note i am trying to build a .net & MSSql solution without having to use a third party tool such as Lucene

The problem is that for any other TextBox on the page which is using this MasterPage, for example the login page, if you type your user name and password and hit Enter, The page is redirected to the SearchPage. If you click on login buttton everything works fine. How do I make sure hitting enter on the page in any other text box does not post back to SearchPage.aspx?
