Create .net Framework 2.0 Website?
Jan 30, 2010How do I create a .net framework 2.0 website in Visual Web Developer Express Edition? The only option I get when trying to create a new website is for it to be .net version 3.5.

Jan 7, 2010When I create a new website in IIS and its associated application pool, I get the option of setting the .NET framework to 1.0 or 2.0.Via windows updates I have installed versions 3.0 and 3.5..however these dont show up in the drop down list.I read that the aspnet_regiis -i command needs to be run in the installed .NET framework folder for it to be visible in IIS.However, the aspnet_regiis.exe is only present in the 1.0 and 2.0 folders. Can I use the same exe to register the 3.5 framework with IIS?

May 18, 2010I host a website that has recently been upgraded from .NET Framework 2.0 to .NET Framework 4.0. Within the website, I have an instance of BlogEngine which still requires .NET Framework 2.0. Each website is in it's own application pool. My issue is that when I browse to the blog portion of my website, I receive a 500.19 error with the following information...
The configuration section 'system.web.extensions' cannot be read because it is missing a section declaration The web.conf file that is listed in the error message is the config file that belongs to my root website which is running .NET Framework 4.0. How do I get the two websites to run together in the same website using different versions of the .NET Framework?

Deploying .Net Framework 4 Website On IIS7?
Mar 23, 2010Okay, I am trying to deploy a .Net framework 4 website on IIS7 server. I have already changed the application-pool's target framework to .Net 4, but the app is still showing me the error:
"The configuration section 'system.web.extensions' cannot be read because it is missing a section declaration"
I am guessing that has something to do with the new feature of .Net4 that lets me have a compact Web config file. I think for some reason IIS7 is not happy with this.What can I do to deploy this app successfully or do I have to scale back to v3.5? I am sure there is a solution out there.
.net - Is It Possible To Run Tests Using The NUnit Framework In A Hosted Website
Sep 8, 2010But I have other tests that are essentially deployment tests (you can't test how the production deployment went using a unit test on a build server) and I'd like to use the nUnit framework to run these.But, the production server doesn't have the nUnit command line executer. I'm only allowed to run aspx pages and reference .dll's in bin.What do I need to do to run tests (yeah, yeah, they're not really unit tests--relax) using nUnit in a webpage? Is there a straight forward way to do this, or does this essentially require porting the nUnit winforms test runner to ASP.NET?

The issue is the client id of the server controls are generated as "contentPlaceHolder1_drpBanks" where it was earlier (when the website was on some other server) getting generated as "ctl00_contentPlaceHolder1_drpBanks".
What I need to know is there a way to resolve this so that I don't have to make any changes in the code.
Like a setting in web.config file or something.

The existing website was developed using vs2008. The web site is hosted on a windows 2008 server running iis 7. My new web application sits below my main website i.e. mywebite mywebsite/mynewwebsite
I have set the application pools for the mynewwebsite to be asp.net v4.0, leaving the application pools for mywebsite as .net v2.0 If I try and open my new web application i.e. [URL] then I get 500. Internal server error. I assume that it is iis that is unhappy here. Do I have to rebuild the whole of my web site to be vs2010 using asp.net v4.0. If I do should I use ASP.Net v4.0 or ASP.net v4.0 Classic for my application pools, and should I have a separate and distinct application pool for each of my web applications ( I have 4 of these) Just to clarify my clients can log on the web site as

Jan 27, 2011I am working on a website in VS 2010 Web Forms using the 4.0 framework. I am running Vista on my development machine. When I run my website through the built-in Visual Studio web server, I am required to write my url routes using an aspx extension (or any extension I choose for that matter). When I deploy the site to a test server running IIS 6 on Windows Server 2003, my routes work correctly without the extensions. I am wondering why it would not work correctly locally and if there is anything I can do to fix it to work without the extensions.
