Web Forms :: Working On A Website In VS 2010 Web Forms Using The 4.0 Framework?

I am working on a website in VS 2010 Web Forms using the 4.0 framework. I am running Vista on my development machine. When I run my website through the built-in Visual Studio web server, I am required to write my url routes using an aspx extension (or any extension I choose for that matter). When I deploy the site to a test server running IIS 6 on Windows Server 2003, my routes work correctly without the extensions. I am wondering why it would not work correctly locally and if there is anything I can do to fix it to work without the extensions.
On my underlying DB I have 3 tables. 1 of those tables comprises of just the primary keys of the other 2 tables. When I built the Model, it recognised this and so didn't actually generate an entity for this table, but instead made a many to many relationship between the other 2 tables.Now when I save changes against the context. (new records) under the hood the table with just primary keys are not populated. How do I get this table populated?
I host a website that has recently been upgraded from .NET Framework 2.0 to .NET Framework 4.0. Within the website, I have an instance of BlogEngine which still requires .NET Framework 2.0. Each website is in it's own application pool. My issue is that when I browse to the blog portion of my website, I receive a 500.19 error with the following information...
The configuration section 'system.web.extensions' cannot be read because it is missing a section declaration The web.conf file that is listed in the error message is the config file that belongs to my root website which is running .NET Framework 4.0. How do I get the two websites to run together in the same website using different versions of the .NET Framework?

I want to create a download link for my Windows Forms application. I know you can do that using ClickOnce but I don't want a ClickOnce app so a added a setup project to my application that I just got to work the way I want so now I want to make it downloadable from my website. Should a I a web service or a WCF Service to do this or something else and what else should I do?
I've converted my intranet to framework 4 and everything seems to be running smoothly except my crystal reports.Some lines aren't showing and the aspnet menu above the report with the export, search, print ... options isn't showing anymore either.I've searched the internet for the CRRedist2010_x86.msi file but appearantly this doesn't exists.
When I tried to deploy the project using DotNet 2.0 using VS2010, it failed and no error message. I make sure all the Framework checkboxes have 2.0 checked. In the prerequisies window, I only checked the installer 3.1. In the Detected Dependencies, The Microsoft .NET Framework is 2.0. The development and target PCs are both XP - SP3. When I unpack the .msi file in the target PC and run the application, it crashed.The only way to make that work is to use VS2005 to perform the setup. Of course, copying the files over to the target PC directory works. So, the VS2010 setup is unpacking something at the target that makes it crash. VS2010 fixed the code-behind fatal bugs and I cannot go back to VS2005 or VS2008. I also noticed that you need to install 3.5 before you can use 2.0 in VS2010... Anybody knows what is going on ?
I want to use entity framework model for visual studio 2010. I am using oracle database. i was wondering if it is possible to use entity framework for oracle. If it is not possible then I will just use simple ADO.net and call stord proc and packages.I already downloaded oracle data provider for entity frameowrk from codeplex web site.can someone give me any example that connects to a sample oracle database and use LINQ to oracle
I have a deadline to install my windows service NOW. I developed it in VS2010 and chose the .NET 4.0 framework. The server where I am installing it, which is a server that hosts our live web sites, does not have .NET 4.0 installed. So I have to change the framework to 3.5. I'm trying to use the Entity Framework with a Firebird database in Visual Studio 2010
Useful info:
Windows 7 64-bit Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate Firebird 2.5.0 Firebird .Net Data Provider 2.6 DDEX 2.0.5
I've done:
Installed Firebird server (and it works and I can connect to a database) Downloaded DDEX (I've run the registry files) used the gacutil on the FirebirdSql.Data.FirebirdClient.dll and checked that it indeed was installed and it was Modyfied the machine.config for both 2.0 and 4.0 in 32-bit and 64 bit folders to include the provider in the element When I try to add a connection in the server explorer I choose "Firebird Data Source" and the Firebird data provider and press continue. I the "Add Connection" dialog window I fill in the info "data source, database, user, password.." and press ok and then I get the following error:
Failed to find or load the registered .Net Framework Data Provider Also when I try to add a new Entity Data Model I cannot see the Firebird option.. I can only see SQL options. I have a Silverlight site hosted in an asp page, it has been developed using vs2010 using .net 3.5 framework and silverlight 4. It all works on my dev box. However when I publish the site and get it deployed I get the error:

I have checked that the ISS asp setting are using 2.0.50727, and that all my references are using that runtime also.
I am not sure what to do to work out what the missing dependencies are at this point (I don't have access to the deployment box, I will have to go and sit with a system admin).
I'm working with Visual Studio 2010 and for Data Connections am connecting to a SQL Server 2000 production database. When I try to drag a table to a .dbml file, the Object Relational Designer says, "The selected object(s) use an unsupported data provider." If I try to create an .edmx file via Generate from database, then the alert is, "This server version is not supported. You must have Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or later."
So VS 2010 has no support for the Data Entity Framework or LINQ when connecting to a SQL Server 2000 database? If that is the case, what is the best data access strategy for this scenario?
I have installed the stand alone version of .NET framework 4.0. If I open my visual studio he doesn't see that .NET 4.0 is installed.
