Cannot Run Framework 3.5 Under A .Net 4 Website?

I have a website that is configured to run .Net framework 4 mode. And then I need to add another website that runs .Net Framework 3.5 as a sub site to the one that run .Net 4. So in IIS 7 I added my website that run .Net 4 as a web application (.Net 4 application pool), and then I added my .Net 3.5 website as a sub application (.Net 3.5 application pool)So my structure look like this...localhostmyDotNet4WebsitemyDotNet35webSiteI can run the .Net 4 website, but when I try to run the 3.5 version I get a error on this line..

I host a website that has recently been upgraded from .NET Framework 2.0 to .NET Framework 4.0. Within the website, I have an instance of BlogEngine which still requires .NET Framework 2.0. Each website is in it's own application pool. My issue is that when I browse to the blog portion of my website, I receive a 500.19 error with the following information...

Okay, I am trying to deploy a .Net framework 4 website on IIS7 server. I have already changed the application-pool's target framework to .Net 4, but the app is still showing me the error:
"The configuration section 'system.web.extensions' cannot be read because it is missing a section declaration"
I am guessing that has something to do with the new feature of .Net4 that lets me have a compact Web config file. I think for some reason IIS7 is not happy with this.What can I do to deploy this app successfully or do I have to scale back to v3.5? I am sure there is a solution out there.

But I have other tests that are essentially deployment tests (you can't test how the production deployment went using a unit test on a build server) and I'd like to use the nUnit framework to run these.But, the production server doesn't have the nUnit command line executer. I'm only allowed to run aspx pages and reference .dll's in bin.What do I need to do to run tests (yeah, yeah, they're not really unit tests--relax) using nUnit in a webpage? Is there a straight forward way to do this, or does this essentially require porting the nUnit winforms test runner to ASP.NET?

I have a website which is hosted on GoDaddy they have version 4.0 runtime. The issue is the client id of the server controls are generated as "contentPlaceHolder1_drpBanks" where it was earlier (when the website was on some other server) getting generated as "ctl00_contentPlaceHolder1_drpBanks".
What I need to know is there a way to resolve this so that I don't have to make any changes in the code.
Like a setting in web.config file or something.

I have added the .dll file in my project's BIN folder and for Matt Gibb's solution I have also added the tagMapping code to web.config file. But for both of the solution, when I ran the project I noticed it doesn't have any effect on the validation controls.

I have web site where web application exist in asp.net2.0 ie Framework 2.0. Now I would like Add another web application of ASP.NET3.5 FRAMEWORK. After adding assemblies of 3.5. I am getting error in ajax 1.0 code where this code is called

Is there any possibility that these error can be rectified from web.config or only we have to delete the assembly file from server of 1.0

I have recently developed a new vs2010 web application that I would like to add to my web site.
The existing website was developed using vs2008. The web site is hosted on a windows 2008 server running iis 7. My new web application sits below my main website i.e. mywebite mywebsite/mynewwebsite
I have set the application pools for the mynewwebsite to be asp.net v4.0, leaving the application pools for mywebsite as .net v2.0 If I try and open my new web application i.e. [URL] then I get 500. Internal server error. I assume that it is iis that is unhappy here. Do I have to rebuild the whole of my web site to be vs2010 using asp.net v4.0. If I do should I use ASP.Net v4.0 or ASP.net v4.0 Classic for my application pools, and should I have a separate and distinct application pool for each of my web applications ( I have 4 of these) Just to clarify my clients can log on the web site as

When I create a new website in IIS and its associated application pool, I get the option of setting the .NET framework to 1.0 or 2.0.Via windows updates I have installed versions 3.0 and 3.5..however these dont show up in the drop down list.I read that the aspnet_regiis -i command needs to be run in the installed .NET framework folder for it to be visible in IIS.However, the aspnet_regiis.exe is only present in the 1.0 and 2.0 folders. Can I use the same exe to register the 3.5 framework with IIS?

I have an asp.net dynamic data website .net 3.5 built on ado.net entity framework with mysql database.Currently I have just one table in my entity model.
Everything is working fine on my local machine but when i uploaded on my server i got this error message:
"More than one item in the metadata collection match the identity 'mtDBModelStoreContainer'"

I am working on a website in VS 2010 Web Forms using the 4.0 framework. I am running Vista on my development machine. When I run my website through the built-in Visual Studio web server, I am required to write my url routes using an aspx extension (or any extension I choose for that matter). When I deploy the site to a test server running IIS 6 on Windows Server 2003, my routes work correctly without the extensions. I am wondering why it would not work correctly locally and if there is anything I can do to fix it to work without the extensions.

I have this cenario:One server (machine) that have framework 3.5. And one site (website) developed for framework 3.5.This site can not be modified (rebuild in other FW version, or others changes).
I'll developer a new webapplication (WAP) in framework 4.0 (using microsoft visual web developer 2010).
As I know, the new webaplication work in the server, if I install framework 4.0 in the server.
My question is: Can I install the framework 4.0 on the machine that already have framework 3.5. And continue have sites working with other frameworks version?Or, should I develop my new webapplication in framawork 3.5 ?If I can install the framework 4.0, do I need make some specify configuration during the installation?

I recently I have upgraded my web application from 1.1 to 3.5.
Now the problem is support DLLs used in this application still in 1.1 only.
There is no way to change it. While accessing from 3.5 it is not showing any error msg.
But not giving expected results.
Is there any way to run this particular assembly in 1.1 and other in 3.5 ?
