Display An Error When A User Tries To Enter A Duplicate Key For New Data

I've posted this in the 'Datasource Controls' thread and didn't get the answers I was looking for. So I thought I'd try here; I recieved some good answers in this thread. I have a page where a user inserts new data in a table. The page consists of a series of textboxes and a button. My sqldatasource code is below. I don't have a SELECT statement, just an INSERT statement. I want to be able to have an error message (response.redirect, label, msgbox, etc.) when the user tries to enter an ID ( the PK) that already exists (instead of the usual "unique constraint violated" message)

I have a gridview with delete buttons for each record (I've used AccessDataSource). I have loaded the data in and have many duplicate records.
I just want to use the delete button delete each duplicate record while remains many duplicate records. For example:
I used the following query to load in duplicate records:

using vs2005 I have a formview control I added from the data section and within the formview, I aded a table from the Standard section. How can I add a text box to the formview so I can enter a number like 7 to display seven rows with a text box. the data will be saved to the sql table when I click on the Insert link at the bottom of the page.

I have a grid page which has a datasource as a stored procedure. The grid page shows the fields obtained after executing the stored procedure.Now, there is a field called 'PURCHASE PRICE' on the stored procedure which can have empty values.If the grid page have that field empty, it should appear as the text box so that the users can enter some numeric values and run the page.

I am attempting inserting into an Access database, and the insert is successful (when I open the database the data is there), but I'm getting an error: "The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key, or relationship. Change the data in the field or fields that contain duplicate data, remove the index, or redefine the index to permit duplicate entries and try again."This is really confusing me. No matter what I insert, it still gives me the same error. And I don't understand why it's giving me an error even though it's working. Here's my codebehind:

in my code i need to display error message and redirect the user to another page...
so i used response.write() first to display error msg and then response.redirect() to redirect the user to another page...
but im unable to see the error msg...it just redirects to other page...is there any other way to display error msgs???
and i even tried the reverse way by putting the statements in reverse order..but no use.....

I have a DetailsView with several fields. On the same page, I have both LinkButton that enables to go in edit or insert mode for the DetailsView.
When I click on a button, linked code-behind is doing the following :

We are buling a hosted ecommerce shopping cart solution and I would like to use asp.net's built-in membership provider. We dont really want to have a seperate database for each domain, we want to share the same database across mupltiple domains for different customers. Each domain is a seperate store.
My problem is that since it's a shared hosted solution people coming from different domains might use the same user name and it would show as if already existed. Is there an addional field I can use to store the domain name so basicly would be unique by username and domain name. We don't want to share information between stores.

I'm using emails as the user name, and I've got requiresUniqueEmail="true" in the web.config.
I have an empty CreatingUser method, and in CreatedUser I perform a couple of table entries with the new user.
When I try to add a user with an email that's already in use, I get a the default success message. But no user is added, and
it doesn't reach the CreatedUser method.
