View 6 RepliesI am using a Silverlight usercontrol in my ASP.NET web app.
The user control has several autocomplete boxes and it seems that the enter key never fires the keydown event in any of them while it fires for other keys.
I'm assuming that autocomplete boxes must handle the enter key in a different way, perhaps for chosing an item from the list. - Thus it works with simple text boxes.
I was thinking about overriding the eventhandler in a new deriving control...
In my project there is a button search which seems to be the default button to trigger when enter key has been pressed. How can i detect a keydown event with jquery for a login button? Its an asp.net project.
View 1 RepliesI have a textbox on my page and the second a user puts something in the Textbox i need to make a save button visible.
I thought I would do that with a keyup or keydown even. However, all I can find in my Text box is OnTextChanged. This only fires when enter is pressed. This is not want I want.
Is there anyway to fire a Keyup or keydown event when the user types something into the textbox?
In case of C#, when we code a keydown event which usually works in server side, what happend? Can PHP do that? or should work only in javascript which is client side?

here is how my grid view looks like and how i add my custom data source to both parent and child grid view.

I have a page with two ajax toolkit popupcontrol extenders, both have a Linkbutton inside the popup window, which is inside a panel and updatepanel. The difference is the second one (Linkbutton2) is inside a Gridview, which is also inside a Updatepanel.
The first one works fine, but the second one does not fire when click on it. The code is as follows:

I've a Detailsview that contains an updatepanel.A button is pressed within the panel and a window is displayed containing a gridview list.The user selects an item from the list, the window closes and the selected gridview item is placed in "tbResourceID" My problem however comes when the user goes to click insert the validator doesn't fire. I'm guessing this is something to do with the updatepanel isolating the validator.... my code is shown below!

I have an itemtemplate field in a gridview which performs some manual deletions.
I cannot seem to get the code in the rowcommand for this button to update the panel in which the grid resides.
<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="" SortExpression="colFullName">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:Button ID="btnDelete" runat="server" CommandArgument='<%# Bind("colID") %>' [code]....
I'm trying to do a similar thing -- I have a long form and in part of it, I have an updatepanel.
Inside the updatepanel I have:5 dropdowns (using the CascadingDropdown functionality)One AddProduct ButtonGrid or Repeater (haven't set it up yet)
I want the following to happen:I have the AddProduct Button disabled initially, but I want it to be enabled once the 5th dropdown is selected (so OnSelectedIndexChanged).If they click the AddProduct button, I want it to populate a Grid or Repeater.So far I am just trying to show what the selection was in a label... but nothing happens. I have an OnSelectedIndexChanged function for the last dropdown, so it enables the button, but that doesn't appear to get called. Previously, before disabling the button, I tried updating the label on button click -- and nothing there either.
It just seems like, because they are in the updatepanel, those callbacks never happen. I also do have UpdateMode = Conditional and I have both items in the triggers list.

View 4 Repliesi have a website with three UpdatePanel Control and inside of each UpdatePanels has ONE Gridview and a SqlDataSource Control.
all gridviews are connected to its own SqlDataSource Control. so technically when i run my website all gridviews automatically get their data from their respective SqlDataSource Control and display them accordingly.
but what i need to do is instead of letting all the update panels to load each gridview their data upon Onload event, i need the updatepanel to update on queue, (Technically changing the UpdateMode to Conditional does not solve my problem.) there will be an event which will trigger the updatepanel to update later.
I have a multi view with 2 view in my page. when page is loading first view is set active. by click on a click I set active second view that contain AsyncFileUpload1. but UploadedComplete event doesn't fire. This control works outside of view correctly but into view doesn't work. I have to use multi view and this 2 view in my web page. what can I do?

View 1 RepliesHow can I fire a ModalPopupExtender on the SelectIndexChanged event of a dropdownlist?
I only want it to fire when a particular value is chosen in the list.
I tried leaving the PopupControlID value out and calling .Show() on my extender in the onselectchanged event, but it would not allow me to have a blank PopupControlID. If I set the PopupControlID to the ID of my dropdownlist, the popup fires as soon as I click on the dropdownlist control.
I have my ReorderList setup, and it seems to work. It doesn't give me any errors, and it allows drag/drop of the entries.
BUT, it never updates my datasource. I have tried putting breakpoints on the update events, both on the reorder list, but also on the datasource, none fires.
What could i possibly do wrong, to achieve this?
Here's my code, just in case:

I cannot get the asyncfileupload to fire the uploadcomplete event at all.
I did a test:Protected Sub AsyncFileUpload1_UploadedComplete(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As AjaxControlToolkit.AsyncFileUploadEventArgs) Handles AsyncFileUpload1.UploadedComplete
I am using ajax CascadingDropDown with DropDown List, I am having 2 Dropdown list based on that selection Gridview is displayed. It work perfectly
The problem is when i change the 2nd Dropdown list then both Dropdown list blinks and again load the values.

LoadingText="Loading Branch...">
</Ajax:CascadingDropDown>
2nd DropDownList
<asp:DropDownList

CssClass="aspDropDownList"
runat="server"
TabIndex="2"
AutoPostBack="true"
/>
<Ajax:CascadingDropDown

runat="server"
TargetControlID="drdRM" ServiceMethod="GetRMList"
ServicePath="GetDetail.asmx"

I need a Slider that will only postback when the slider has been moved. Can this be achieved with SliderExtender?
I have a TextBox with autopostback=true, within an updatepanel within a usercontrol. The TextBox is extended by SliderExtender (default settings).
The TextBox's TextChanged event fires perfectly when the slider is moved (MouseUp - standard extender setting). The aspx page is partially posted back, and all is well.
However, if another usercontrol on the same aspx page causes a partial postback, the SliderExtender causes the TextChanged event to be raised - for no aparent reason. This is causing problems.
Is it possible to prevent postback unless the slider has actually been moved?!
I have a CollapsiblePanelExtender (ext1) with a second CollapsiblePanelExtender (ext2) within it. Is it possible that when ext1 is extnended that it checks the value of a dropdownlist within ext1 and depending on the value of the ddl then extend ext2?
View 1 RepliesI've got an website that needs to know when someone has closed a details page. Is there a way to fire a post back using Javascript to call a particular Sub or Function on the Unload event?
View 2 RepliesI have a page that is using the Ajax asynch file uploader. What I would like to have happen is after the file is uploaded I would like to have it displayed in a list on the page. I am looking for a way to fire a callback event when the file upload is complete. Is it possible using the asynch fileupload control?
View 1 RepliesI have a modalpopup that i have opening on a radiobutton selection. That works great, opens when it should and closes when you click cancel. BUT i have the following on my cancel button event that is not firing
[Code]....
I also have a button event for my "OK" button and that works great, but my cancel event doesnt seem to fire or work. Maybe the ClearSelection() is not what i need..
I want to clear the radiobutton if they cancel out of the ModalPopUp so they can make a new selection, since its a required field.
Basically I am using a ModalPopUpExtender and it works fine, except that the OK button has an OnClick event that only fires when it is clicked for the 2nd time.. obviously i can progress with populating my OnClick event method for later on - its just annoying that a user has to click my button then ok in the pop up twice before they can get their intended result!
