Using a listview control for the first time... I need a button for each item, and of course I need to handle the click event for the buttons... upon clicking a particular button I of course need to know which item the button is associated with so the appropriate action can be taken...
In VS, I can't select the button and see my list of available events in the properties window like is normally done for controls outside of templates like this... what do I need to do?
I have a listbox which acts as a list of items. If you click on some item, it's contents are shown in the panel on the right (few textboxes etc.). I need to have a validation on these controls as all of them are required fields. And I do have it. The problem is that, even when the validators are not valid, user can click the listbox and change active index (that doesn't have impact on the panel on the right, as SelectedIndexChanged isn't fired). The validators are standard RequiredFieldValidator with their Display property set to "Dynamic". So, what I want is to disallow the user clicking on the listbox and changing the index untill all validators are Valid. What would be your solution for that? Is that even possible?
I'm looking to create a survey with a Radio Button List and a submit button and then I want to store the result in a database. Not sure how to do design the database columns or handle the click event to write the survey answer to a database.
I've created a custom control in ASP.NET for showing a pop-up message box. In my MessageBox class, I have a Content property as ITemplate like the following:
[PersistenceMode(PersistenceMode.InnerProperty)] [TemplateContainer(typeof(MessageBoxContent))] [TemplateInstance(TemplateInstance.Single)] public ITemplate Content { get; set; }
Even I set the the Content property's TemplateInstance to Single, I still can't have access to the Button control.
All I want to do is to handle the click event of the button. When I assign an event handler to the button control and run the project, it throws a NullReferenceException.
I have a LinkButton within a User Control and it has handled with:
Private Sub LoginLinkLinkButton_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles LoginLinkLinkButton.Click Response.Redirect("/", True) End Sub
On certain ASPX pages I would like to handle the click from the page's code behind, opposed to within the user control. How do I override the handle within the control from the parent's code behind page?
Update:
Based on the answer, I have the following no added to the User Control:
[code]....
The problem is determining the correct syntax for the if line because the above is invalid.
I have a blank user control (child) and during Page_Load i create some text boxes and a button. I also add an event to the button.
I then load that user control dynamically from a placeholder in another usercontrol (parent). Both controls are rendered correctly but when i click on the button, the event isnt fired. how to handle the event?
Child code:
[code].....
If i use the child control directy (ie without the parent the control) the click event is raised and handled nicely. But when i use the parent control, the debugger wont even hit a breakpoint inside UpdateButton_Click().
I have embedded you tube video into my project.The problem which i'm facing is that when i double click on that video it opens in new tab.What i want is that when i click that video it should open in full screen.Below is the link where i have seen this behaviour
In my aspx registration page i have more then 6 item available in my list box, I am allowing multiple selection on it..I am not sure about how many items i will select each and every time. then how i have to store it into dataset and how to pass it as a mysql paramter...
I've found posts about making a click event with jQuery for a button, however I need a little more then that. When any postback occurs on a page, I need to fire off a jQuery click event. Based on a condition, I want to continue processing (including running the server-side event code after the jQuery code), or, perform a redirect. I'm not quite sure how to go about this.
I've got a gridView called gvLineItems in an asp.net page..I want to throw in some jquery to allow for a double click on the row of the gridview and let it redirect to another page:
<script src="include/jquery-1.5.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> var selected = null;
I have a LinkButton inside an UpdatePanel that I do not want the client to click more than once before the UpdatePanel refreshes its contents. Right now the link button initiates a partial postback for every client side click until the update panel has time to refresh. This particular link fires off a very expensive process which I'd rather not have run unnecessarily. Is there a .NET standard way of doing this? Whats a good solution for this?
