Run A Function When A DOM Element Is Created?
Mar 9, 2010I want to bind an event to a certain class and ID for when matching objects are created in the DOM.I am doing this as I have some jQuery code in an ASP UpdatePanel, which causes the DOM to be re-loaded on its partial postback. I have reset the events with live(), however I need to call a 2 line initialisation function as soon as the elements are created.Is there any way to attach this to live(), or some other jQuery function, or will I have to write code to do this myself?

JQuery Trigger Mouseover Function When Page Loads With The Mouse Over The Element
May 25, 2010I have an ASP.NET document, with an Image element within it. I created a mouseover function on this image element and it's working fine. The question is: If the mouse is ALREADY over the element when the document loads itself, the mouseover function doesn't trigger (I need to mouseout and then mouseover again in order to trigger it). Is there any way to check in the $(document).ready function if the mouse is already on top of this element? and if yes- trigger the mouseover function.

How To Replace A Function Name Using JavaScript And Have It Be Recognized As A Function
Aug 25, 2010I am trying to replace the JavaScript onclick event handler in ASP.NET that is added to a button control when using validation controls. This is what is output into the HTML from ASP.NET in this scenario:

I have looked pretty estensively, and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to modify the function server side before it is injected into the page.
Since I am developing a control and desire it to be non-invasive and self contained, and I am interested in obtaining the validationGroup parameter of the WebForm_PostBackOptions object, it seems that the easiest solution would be to use JavaScript to replace the WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions function name with my custom wrapper function and leave all of the rest of the parameter information intact - then I can extract the information I am interested in, call my custom functions, and then forward the call on to WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions.
NOTE: I am using jQuery to build my custom function, so if there is an easier way to do this with jQuery it is an option I will consider.
Here is the code I tried to replace the onclick event handler (not working):

Using alert(), I verified that the text is being changed correctly, however whether or not I use the eval() function, the onclick handler doesn't seem to recognize it as JavaScript.
I thought of using a regular expression to get the validationGroup value, but this seems like it will be far more elegant and flexible if I can get it working...
Note: If there is a way for my control to interrogate the page it is on to find all of the buttons that will post back (regardless of what type of buttons they are) so I can retrieve the property server-side, this is also something I will consider.

Javascript - Script Not Executed After Form Element
Oct 25, 2010I have an .aspx page. I populate a public variable in the code behind (.cs) page and then access that variable in JS on client side. I have the script declared after the FORM tag as below.

After postback this script does not get executed first time, but when I click on any other server button on the page, then it gets executed.

The problem is that in IE it seems to add the behavior twice to the textbox causing it not to work. JavaScript - User Control JavaScript Function Doesn't Run

However, the function UserControlNameInit() does not run when the page loads. It is showing in the page source. I can still call this function through FireBug console by manually typing the name of the function.
I did the same way with other user controls, and it works. Just 1-3 user controls are not working...

AJAX :: Element 'ToolkitScriptManager' Is Not A Known Element - For Network Drive Websites
Feb 2, 2011I have noticed that when I create a website in a network drive and use the Ajax toolkit I get :
Element 'ToolkitScriptManager' is not a known element
I also noticed that after adding the ToolkitScriptManager it doesn't add the ID in the source code, it looks like this:

Is missing the ID="ToolkitScriptManager1" part.
This doesn't happen when I create the site in my local drive. Is there a workaround to this. Even if I add the missing parts, I keep getting the same error.

Nov 3, 2010Element 'content' is not a known element. this can occur if there is a compilation error in the website, or the web.config file is missing.

<asp:Content --- showed a green wavy line , and on hover displayed the above error.
Now I am having certain problems.
1. Visual Studio 2010 hangs when I try to use ToolBox.
2. Intellisense for asp.net controls is not working.
I have tried replacing web.config file (frm backup) , tried to debug - it doesnt show anything.
All other websites are working alright. Have problem with only one of the websites.
