I am developing a web site that has holiday prices which are taken from a different database and loaded into two SQL databases.I have two girdviews to display each of the prices data.What my issues is that I need to load an SqlDataSource on database 1,when 'Family' is selected from a dropdown list and run an SqlDataSource on database 2 when 'Themed' is selected and then run both when 'Don't Mind' is selected.

View 1 RepliesI have a well established site in asp.net. I need to use the silverlight player to provide video streaming of meetings we have pre-recorded. I want to be able to provide a list of agenda items in a list / menu style setup in the asp.net page, then based on which link the click change which video the silverlight player plays.
I also need to capture some information from the asp.net page, and don't have time to build a full silverlight application to manage. What is the best way to do this?
I know to put the object tag, and set the source to the xaml file / xap file, but how can I change the video source inside the xaml file? Or is it going to be easier to build out the "full page in silverlight" and then just wrap it in the asp.net page?

View 8 RepliesI am an experienced .NET developer with approximately 5 years of experience. Unfortunately, I have worked primarily on the back-end and as an desktop/smartclient developer. I have worked as a consultant for a total of 1 1/2 years on web development using both the MVP pattern and some Silverlight. I am wanting to develop a personal site, (My wife is due with our first in 7 months!) and figured while I was at it I would target particular technologies that I want to learn. Being that my current employer
uses Monorail with NVolocity and is plannning a migration to ASP.NET MVC with (most-likely) NVelocity, I figured that would be a good tech stack to use. In addition, I would like to add JQuery to the set-up.
I have done several ASP.NET MVC tutorials. Including one on this site (Great job!). However, adding NVelocity and JQuery to the mix muddies the water a bit for me.
So, my question is, does anybody have advice of where to start? Do you know of any good books, online tutorials, etc.? Do you think this is a good stack to use? Better view engine?

View 3 RepliesI'm building a new code library and would like to use .Net 4 as my target framework as all my new apps will use .net 4. My legacy web apps use .Net 3.5. I want to use this code library for all of my apps. At this point, I see only 2 options Compile the dll for each framework I need, changing the target framework each time Create separate projects with differing target frameworks. Is there any way around this so my code library is a single compile? Didn't know if there was something built into 4 to allow something like this.

cannot update tree node when update the forms. so i reload tree view.
now i need how to auto selected index change to tree node.
ex.

1.2 child node
i have update "1.2 child node" rename to "1.3 child node"
and reload treeview so it will chage...

View 1 RepliesWeb service error response (code/message etc) would you store it in a database? or would you keep the error response in a method.By the time I'm done with this, there will be hundreds of error response, maybe in the future, thousands? (I dont know yet, depends how large this web service grows).EDIT: error response is the response returned back to the application via the web service, (not to be confused with error logging).
View 1 RepliesI've got an ASP.NET 4 web forms application I'm building in Studio 2010. The solution has two projects. A web forms application and a class library. I have added a reference to the class libraryr project in the web forms project, but when I go a code behind page in the web forms project, it does not recognize the class from the class library and throws the "type or namespace <class> could not be found ...." error. Adding a using <class library projec> does not work either as it does not recognize that.
What am I missing?
