Way To Use Hyperlinks That Can Pass Additional Values
Jun 17, 2010
I guarantee the title of my thread does not explain what I am looking for, but I just can't think of a better way to word it. What I have right now is an application that the user can add, search, and update various orders in the System. I've been working on the front end page, and wanted to display a summary of all orders performed this month. Right now the Orders are represented as labels (based on data pulled from the database). What i'd like to do is replace these labels with hyperlinks. I was hoping that by doing that I could somehow write some code so that when an order is clicked that the user is taken directly to the search page and that order is displayed.
Hi. I have two chained CascadingDropDowns. Both are working fine. The thing is that in the underlying web methods which are supplying values for DropDwonList I need read one additional parameter. This parameter is needed for setting up the default item for dropdownlist.
I do not know how to pass that parameter or read it. I've read on the Internet about the ContextKey property. But I do not know how to acces it from the WebMethod.
I've tried to get to the session through HttpContext.Current.Session (hoping that I could extract some parameter from the session) but it seams that the Session is different for the WebPage and WebMethod.
How to pass addtional parameters to AutoCompleteExtender's ServiceMethod.I am trying to create common web service method for all the autocomplete textboxes in my web apps.
I want to pass the source table name,the key to be retrived, and any filtring criteria to the web method.
i'm trying to upload files by AjaxFileUpload, i have got it done. But now i need also to know 2 parameters, 1 is given on the URL adreess myPage.aspx?parameter=2...the second is in ViewState.
But on event OnUploadStart or OnUploadComplete...i dont have access to these values event when i tried session.
this is regarding a tutorial posted here at [URL] , as such this example is working fine, but what if i have a textbox in the page and i want to call the value in the web handler, how can i achieve that?
I'm using a CustomValidator control to validate some controls in a GridView. I have the validation working perfectly on the client and the server, but would ideally like to pass the GridView ID into the client function so I can move it out into a separate
.js file. The signature for my client function is:
function valOrder_ClientValidate(source, args) { // Code here}
And my CustomValidator control looks like:
[Code]....
Is there a way I can pass an additional parameter into this function?
district region city Id can 1 Canada 1 Lon 1 London 2 Ita 2 Canada 3
Now when I select city from DDlcity after that select region from DDlregion according to my selected item from DDlcity and DDlregion it bind DDlDistrict... before I used OnselectedIndexChange below is SP...
ALTER procedure [dbo].[SelectِDistrict] @Region NVARCHAR(30), @city NVARCHAR(40)
[Code] ....
It worked correctly but now I use cascadingdropdown list
[WebMethod] public CascadingDropDownNameValue[] GetDistrict(string knownCategoryValues) { string region = CascadingDropDown.ParseKnownCategoryValuesString(knownCategoryValues)["Region"]; string query = string.Format("SELECT District FROM District WHERE Region = N'{0}'", region);
[Code] ....
problem is that when I select city=canada then region=1 I want it bind in DDldistrict =can but here it show in DDLdistrict can and Lon
here it just select district that region=1 it doesn't attention to city selected Item I want it do like SP that I used...
I have a report, in this report I have link to other report to generate the PDF versions. It all works except when I pass multiple values from the a dropdown parameters. Here is what I have tried, the first one works, but only returns the first users information, it ignores 1074 and 1106.
I am a complete noob to ASP.NET (C# based) and have migrated from PHP (I have mentioned this a few times but I feel I have to 'cos some of the questions I ask seem so basic!)
I have page (Products.aspx) it has a grid view using products from the northwind DB, the grid view is paged to show 'n' products at a time and has an extra column which is basically a 'view this product' hyper link, the user can click on this link and is taken to another page (Product.aspx) which provides complete details for that particular product, so, this is what I want to do next, I want to add a button that takes the product ID, (or other unique property of the product - it doesnt really matter at the moment, but i am likely to stick to ID).
Then take that value and place it in a cookie, (I know that session variables are held in cookies, that is not really a problem at the moment, I am concentrating on basics, then I will go a little more advanced).
so, I have a button - call it productIdBtn, and its value, which is going to be the product ID, in the button on click handler, how would I add this value to a cookie - call it prodIdCookie?
I am having to re-learn everything from the ground up and because PHP is so simple to write (mainly because of its weak typing),
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { for(i=0;i<5;i++) { Textbox tbox = new Textbox(); tbox.AutoPostBack =true; tbox.TextChanged += new EventHandler(tboxevent); //Here I need to pass 'i' value to the tboxevent } } protected void tboxevent(object sender, EventArgs e) { Label1.Text = "i value"; }
i have one scenario in which i have to pass values from one page to another for that currently i am using querystring but now the values are more so i want to remove querystring and i dont want to user session as well and so i have tried using Hiddenfields but after redirecting to another page the values are cleared from all the hidden fields.
I would like to discuse with u, now i have one problem, ie, how could i pass value from the code behind to the web service, in that ,i have to pass 3 values,1, context key2, prefix text3, dropdown selected text or value, ( Contains Designation Details)how could i pass this 3rd value
Why can I not call the global variables CatCode and CompanyName which are equated in the first procedure GetCompanyCatID And use their new values in the second procedure UpdateCompanyCounts as parameter values. When I hard code them code their values at the end of the GetCompany CatID procedure the following procedure updates properly.
string CatCode; - delcared global string CompanyName; - delcared global protected void GetCompanyCatID() { LinkID2 = Request.QueryString["linkid"].ToString(); string L_ID = LinkID2; SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["ConnectionString001"].ConnectionString); SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand("GetCID", con); cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@L_ID", L_ID); try { con.Open(); using (SqlDataReader reader = cmd.ExecuteReader()) { while (reader.Read()) { if (reader["CG_ID"] != System.DBNull.Value) CatCode = (string)reader["CG_ID"]; CompanyName = (string)reader["CG_Name"]; } } } catch (SqlException exc) { } finally { con.Close(); } // ******* HARD CODED to test below update procedure, it works. When commented out the following update procedure does not update. CatCode = "55555" CompanyName = "Test"; UpdateCompanyCounts(); } protected void UpdateCompanyCounts() { LinkID2 = Request.QueryString["linkid"].ToString(); string L_ID = LinkID2; string CatCode2 = CatCode; string CompanyName2 = CompanyName; // string CatCode2 = "23456"; // string CompanyName2 = "TEST"; SqlConnection con2 = new SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["ConnectionString001"].ConnectionString); SqlCommand cmd2 = new SqlCommand("UpdateCatCounter", con2); cmd2.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; cmd2.Parameters.AddWithValue("@L_ID", LinkID2); cmd2.Parameters.AddWithValue("@CG_ID", CatCode2 ); cmd2.Parameters.AddWithValue("@CG_Name", CompanyName2 ); try { con2.Open(); cmd2.ExecuteNonQuery(); } catch (SqlException exc) { // ErrorBox.Text += string.Format("Error: {0}<br/>", exc.Message); } finally { con2.Close(); } }
Basically I want to display a popup box only at a specific time in asp.net application. so i'm using the following
[code]....
but this code is not working. the alert box is not popping up. is this a correct method to pass values to the script?. or what else to be done to meet the requirement?.
The first and Main problem is that i do not know the way of passing my values to the source:
By saying that i mean, supposing i have a a server-side ASP.NET function GetTheResults as listof(string) or GetTheResults as string ()
how am i supposed to pass those values as source required by the auto-complete?
The second problem is that the specific way does not use AJAX. Which means i guess on the load of the form i will load all the available values to the source. Isn't that an overkill?
