AJAX :: How To Lazy Loading Using Ajax Toolkit TabContainer Control
Jul 22, 2010
At present we are using <ajax:TabContainer> to load tabs. I have 5 user controls inside <ajax:TabPanel>.
The problem is that all the data on these 5 pages gets loaded at once and increases the loading time as well as it is very hard to debug. Can we do lazy loading uisng TabContainer control? so that only the data of the current tab is loaded and when we click on the other tab then that's control data gets loaded.
I'm planning to fetch data to illustrate about the yearly sales achievement for last 3 years by showing seperately in grids in three different ajax tabs. i prefer to lazy loading of the data to the grid in each tab. is there a way to achieve this on the change event of the tabs.
after to run this method i don't know how the browser is cleaning the values from the control :(.
At present I am using ajax:TabContainer for the tabs. As you know that does not do Lazy loading. Can sonone give me links to or some code examples to do Tabs with Lazy loading. I know that the Jquery tabs do lazy loading but there are no complete examples on the web which tells you on how to do lazy loading with JQuery tabs.
I know there is another question asking the same thing, but it hasn't gotten any attention for months now:
How to force Ajax Control Toolkit scripts loading from CDN?
I've upgraded my website to .NET4, and I'm now using the scriptManager's EnableCDN="true" tag. My Ajax scripts are being referenced from the Microsoft CDN just how I expected, but I can't seem to get my AjaxControlToolkit scripts to load from the CDN. Instead they all load locally through ScriptResource.axd.
I know where the CDN files are located, and I know that I could reference those files every time I use a control, but I've got a lot of legacy code that loads on its own from the scriptmanager, just pulling ScriptResource.axd files.
how to get the control toolkit scripts to load from the CDN? I already have the standard WebForms.js, etc.
Let me know if there is anything I can clear up, here is the script manager that I'm using: (I have tried the toolkitscriptmanager)
i have used some Ajax control toolkit in my web project. but the problem is that my web pages are loading very slowly because of ajax control toolkit, when i remove this web pages are working very fine and fast. I am using vs 2012 and framework 4.5..
Having a strange issue with the TabContainer in the AJAX Toolkit. We have several views into a customer record system that we have built as ASP.net controls. These controls use UpdatePanels to load data asynchronously. We use jQuery and jquery.ui to place these controls in separate tabs on a single page. Which all works swimmingly. Lately, I've gotten a little tired of the jQuery tab hackish approach and decided to port everything to use the TabContainer. I want to be able to control the tabs as objects.
At first glance, everything works perfectly. I just slapped the controls into tabs in a TabContainer and everything looked great. However, for some reason, databound controls are losing their data. For instance, grid views vanish when I switch pages. A drop down control with an OnTextChanged event, loses its databound list of values upon post back. Something about the TabContainer -> Custom Control -> UpdatePanel -> Control that uses data binding heirarchy is throwing it out of whack and the debugger isn't shedding any light. It seems like control state isn't being stored. I don't really know enough about control state to know what to look for. Here is the markup for the TabContainer:
I've been searching the net for the past 3 days looking for solutions for this... but apparently it is only happening to me... As far as I've seen (even in this video: [URL], TabContainer/TabPanel is pretty much drag & drop. But for some so far unknown reason, I can't click on the tabs to change them, and I can't see the selected tab(there is no difference in the rendering of the tabs to show selected tab).
This is the way the tabContainer is being rendered:
As you can see, even though we know tab 1 is selected, the 3 buttons look the same. And when you try to click "Tab Two" or "Tab Three", it is as if the tabs were read-only...
My code is as follows... The optional properties that I setted, such as Enabled="true" on the tabpanels, are the tries I've done these past 3 days to fix the problem... And I made all TagPrefix="asp" just to make matters simple!
I am Getting the following error using the Numeric UpDown Control from Ajax Control Toolkit. Assembly 'AjaxControlToolkit, Version=3.0.30512.20315, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=28f01b0e84b6d53e' contains a Web resource with name 'AjaxControlToolkit.NumericUpDown.NumericUpDownBehavior.debug.js', but does not contain an embedded resource with name 'AjaxControlToolkit.NumericUpDown.NumericUpDownBehavior.debug.js'.
Yesterday (Thursday Sep 10th 2010) I was happy to have a TabContainer working fine on a simple page as im learning to use it.
On the page was:
1) Ajax Script manger. 2) 1 command button (it would make label1.text = "hello world" 3) A Ajax TabContainer with 2 tabs... 4) Label1
That was it and it was working fine in Chrom and IE Woohoo.. I go home...
This morning I load it up to keep working way and doing more with it.... Chrome is my default browser, it loads and I click tab2 then tab 1 all is well.... I click Butto1 and the hole TabContainer disapears..
After much dinging I find it still works in IE but that my Chrome has updated (on its own): (I notice only one ICON in Chrome in the uper right corner by the addres bar... Only the Wrench ICON, No more Page ICON.. So I check and sure enough Chrome did a push to V 6.0.472.55.. Anyhow thats the difference and now TabContainer goes poof/disappears when clicking a button that refeshes the page.
I went to the Code Plex site and down load the latest toolkit. Then followed the instructions on how to set up the toolkit to the letter. When I first loaded the toolkit everything worked. But now every time I start up my computer and start VS all the AJAX controls I have on any page has the green squiggly line underneath it and the error says:Element <AJAX Control Name> is not a known element. This can occur if there is a compilation error in the web site, or the webconfig file is missing. The only thing I can do is delete the Ajax Toolkit tab then add the tab again and then "Choose Items..." and load the Ajax controls again. Then I have to add an AJAX control from the toolkit to any webpage. Once that is done all the green squiggly lines go away and I can continue. This is becoming an incredible pain.
Can I use the latest AJAX Control Toolkit on a .net 2.0 project which will be deployed to a server with framework 2.0 only? If not, where can I download the latest AJAX Control Toolkit for framework 2.0?
I've got an issue where I'm unable to view Ajax controls within the Visual Studio toolbox section What makes this issue even more bizzare is that I'm able to view the controls of the .dll (AjaxControlToolkit.dll) in a test website. I can see Visual Studio iterate through the controls and add them to the tab in one project and absolutely nothing in the other. I've already checked to see if another tab has my controls and done multiple Toolbox resets. Obviously, I need consistency with this and for me to be able to easily add controls to my target website...Does anyone know why one VS2008 project displays controls correctly in one place but not in another project?
using Editor control of ajax toolkit control is uneditable.I know its reason but do not know how to solve that.In the top of the html page we have this text
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
written whenever we open a aspx page. But due to some reason i do not have to use that text, so i have deleted that. That's why my editor is uneditable. When i take those text that editor is editable. So, how that editor can be editable without taking those text ?
Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'undefined' is null or not an object
And it worked fine with the ajaxcontroltoolkit 3.01.Now on 3.5 i gives problems.Ok this is a reported bug so the solution(supposedly) is this:http://ajaxcontroltoolkit.codeplex.com/workitem/26785. how do i compile the project.try to run the AjaxControlToolkit.VS2008.sln and errors pop out form everywhere.
