I have SQL2012 database, which has a Table with many columns in it . One of the columns is "Start Date" and i set the dataType to "Date". Now I am putting the data into a gridview but the data is different to the database, the "Start Date" column has time as well. why this is happening ( the Start Date column is the gridview is a BoundField).
I am filtering dataview using my Date Column but the result is not proper because the Field value also stores time, so I want to convert this Date Field to only Date during Filter. How can I achieve this? Here is my code. And the actual value I am getting in the Dataset Field "CreationDate" is a DateTime field which is like

we are using transactional replication on an sql 2008 server. we try now to add a table to the replication that only consists of 1 culomn of type date and we insert the dates to the table. when we then create the replication we are getting an error on the creation of the snapshot. here is the create table with the insert dates:
USE [Product] GO /****** Object: Table [TimeSlices].[BaseDate] Script Date: 05/03/2010 15:52:24 ******/ IF EXISTS (SELECT * FROM sys.objects WHERE object_id = OBJECT_ID(N'[TimeSlices].[BaseDate]') AND type in (N'U')) DROP TABLE [TimeSlices].[BaseDate] GO USE [Product] GO /****** Object: Table [TimeSlices].[BaseDate] Script Date: 05/03/2010 15:52:24 ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO CREATE TABLE [TimeSlices].[BaseDate]( [TargetDate] [date] NOT NULL, CONSTRAINT [PK_BaseDate] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ( [TargetDate] ASC )WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY] ) ON [PRIMARY] GO INSERT INTO [TimeSlices].[BaseDate] SELECT TargetDate FROM [TimeSlices].UDF_GetTravelDateRange(GETDATE()-2 , GETDATE()+1000) attached is the UDF: [Code].... this is the add article: use [Product] exec sp_addarticle @publication = N'Product$(QuoteNumber)', @article = N'BaseDate', @source_owner = N'TimeSlices', @source_object = N'BaseDate', @type = N'logbased', @description = null, @creation_script = null, @pre_creation_cmd = N'drop', @schema_option = 0x000000000803509F, @identityrangemanagementoption = N'manual', @destination_table = N'BaseDate', @destination_owner = N'TimeSlices', @vertical_partition = N'false', @ins_cmd = N'CALL sp_MSins_TimeSlicesBaseDate', @del_cmd = N'CALL sp_MSdel_TimeSlicesBaseDate', @upd_cmd = N'SCALL sp_MSupd_TimeSlicesBaseDate' GO
this is the error we get:

why we are getting the conversion error on the snapshot creation?
In short, I have 3 text box fields on an .aspx page named as follows:-
TextBoxIncident TextBoxDate TextBoxDescription
in addition a sql datasource is on the page which is connected to the incident table with an insert query which allows the data entered into the fields to be inserted into the database...
The Textboxincident and textboxdescription fields allow the user to enter data into them...
the TextBoxDate field is a read only and the code behind file enables the text box to show the current date and time the code im using is shown below...
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
Dim TextBoxDate As TextBox TextBoxDate = FormView1.FindControl("TextBoxDate") TextBoxDate.Text = DateTime.Now End Sub
When run in browser the textboxdate field shows the current date and time...and Once the textbox incident and text box description fields have been filled in and the submit button is clicked, the fields should be bound to MS SQL table called Incident. This did work before, however it as suddenly stopped working and now displays the following message to me:-
Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type datetime. The statement has been terminated.
iI am using Two textboxes and one button.one textbox is for Fromdate and Another textbox is for Todate.i am selecting date from textboxes using Ajex calenderExtender.i want to insert every date(Fromdate to Todate) in database on button click.Example Like:i select 12/30/2010 (MM/DD/YYYY) in FromDate textbox and 01/05/2011 (MM/DD/YYYY) in Todate text box. Now i want to insert these dates
I am pulling a date from an Access Database and inserting into my Dataset. I am assigning it to "myDate" and then assigning it to my SQL parameter @StartDate.
When I run my ExecuteNonQuery I get a null value in my SQL database. There are no null values in my access database. I must have the syntax wrong.
On a test page, I successfully created a google map that pulls both marker and infoWindow information from an XML file. I did this just to get a feel for working with the API. It works fine. However, I do have a SQL database that has this information in it already. This database is updated behind the scenes regulary via a webservice.
I would like to try pulling the map information from my SQL database instead so I don't have to hand maintain the .xml file. The dabase alread has the lat/long information needed for markers. What is the easiest way for me to get that data from the SQL database? Is there a way to run a query and use the data, or will I need to run the query and somehow have it write/update my .xml file for me?
I'm working on a blog and want to show my posts in eastern time zone. i figured that storing everything UTC would be the proper way. This creates a few challenges though:I have to convert all times from UTC to Eastern. This is not a biggie but adds a lot of code. And the "biggie" is that I use a short-date time to reference the posts by passing in a query, ala blogger. The problem is that there is no way to convert the short date time to the proper UTC date because I'm lacking the posted time info.
I use a calendar to pick a date that I want to store in my MSSQL Database. I use the form format, like 2010-01-27 (european date format) with no time info. What MS SQL Date-type should I store this date in?
I am selecting time from dropdownlist. and want to convert it in datetime and store it in database. When I am converting it to Datetime using following statement.
I need to store time in database and then show in using gridview.I wonder how to store and show data so that user will see correct datetime depanding on his timezone?
By using the following code, i save the dateandtime to my MSSQL DB .
Code: Dim dateTimeToConvert As New DateTime(Now.Year, Now.Month, Now.Day, Now.Hour, Now.Minute, Now.Second, Now.Minute, DateTimeKind.Utc) Dim easternTime As DateTime = TimeZoneInfo.ConvertTime(dateTimeToConvert, easternZone) Dim nowtime As DateTime = easternTime.ToUniversalTime
