Web Forms :: Provide Server Side Validation For The Dynamically Added HTML Controls Using Javascript?

Mar 5, 2010

I have a page with a table and two button with the names (Submit and Add Rows) When I click on Add Row a new row will be added to a page(This is achieved using javascript), when I click on submit button I will be doing server side validation. If I found any error the error will be displayed on the page. During this process the controls which were added by me were loosing its state. As a result I need to add the rows once again and need to fill the data and click on submit button. Can any one let me know how to avoid this and see that the controls donot loose their states. So that there is no need for me to create rows once again if any validation fails on the server side.

C# - Dynamically Generate HTML In .NET?

Dec 11, 2010

I was interested to know whether or not asp.net is allows us to dynamically generate HTML inline on the .aspx Source page (not the code-behind). For testing I created the following simple .aspx page...

In my asp.net code-behind I have the following:

protected List<string> myList = null;
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (myList == null)[code]....
Notice that the Repeater control did in fact create the four list items. However, the contents (One String, Two String, etc) of the myList list did not come along for the ride.What do I need to do to evaluate the myList list and get its values inside the list item tags? By the way, I'm not concerned with how to use the Repeater control specifically, so if there is a solution to this problem that does not include the Repeater control, I'm fine with that.

Note: I'm aware that I can bind the "myList" generic list to an asp:BulletedList and get the same result. I am more interested in dynamically creating HTML inline of the Source page.

Web Forms :: Can Dynamically Create Server-side Controls

Oct 5, 2010

Is it possible to use AJAX and an update panel and create server-side controls such as checkboxes, buttons, and radio buttons (asp server side) that is created when another server-side control (that which exists outside the update panel) calls them?

secondly, how do you keep them from re-appearing after a postback?

When I do a postback, the controls in the update panel disappear.

Forms Data Controls :: Cannot Dynamically Generate A Gridview

Feb 10, 2011

I coded in code behind to dynamically generate a gridview as the columns of the gridview changes based on user selection. In the gridview I have dynamically generated controls like textbox, dropdown list etc.I have a few filtering options about, for example: listbox which will postback on change and causes the gridview content to change as well.My problem is: since the controls are randomly generated and every postback will read dataset from database and reload, the naming of the controls are dynamically generated too.

C# - How To Generate Server - Side Tags Dynamiclly

Apr 19, 2010

I have an ASP.net page which contains some controls.

I generate this controls by code, [Actually I have a method which uses a stringBuilder and add Serverside tag as flat string on it]

My page shows the content correctly but unfortunately my controls became like a Client-side control

For example I had a LoginView on my generated code which dosen't work, and also I had read some string from LocalResources which dosen't appear on the page What Should I do to make my generating method correct

here is the code

protected string CreateSubSystem(string id, string roles, string AnonymousTemplateClass, string href, string rolesContentTemplateClass, string LoggedInTemplateClass)
{
StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder();
sb.Append("<div class="SubSystemIconPlacement" id="");
sb.Append(id);
sb.Append(""><asp:LoginView runat="server" ID="");
sb.Append(id);
sb.Append(""><AnonymousTemplate><div class="");
sb.Append(AnonymousTemplateClass);
sb.Append(""></div><asp:Label ID="lblDisabled");
sb.Append(id);
sb.Append("" runat="server" SkinID="OneColLabel" meta:resourcekey="lbl");
sb.Append(id);
sb.Append("" /></AnonymousTemplate><RoleGroups><asp:RoleGroup Roles="");
sb.Append(roles);
sb.Append(""><ContentTemplate><a class="ImageLink" href="");
sb.Append(href);
sb.Append(""><div class="");
sb.Append(rolesContentTemplateClass);
sb.Append(""></div></a><asp:HyperLink runat="server" CssClass="SubSystemText" ID="lnk");
sb.Append(id);
sb.Append(" NavigateUrl="~/");
sb.Append(href);
sb.Append(" " meta:resourcekey="lbl");
sb.Append(id);
sb.Append("" /></ContentTemplate></asp:RoleGroup></RoleGroups><LoggedInTemplate><div class="");
sb.Append(LoggedInTemplateClass);
sb.Append(""></div><asp:Label runat="server" SkinID="OneColLabel" ID="lblDisabledLoggedIn");
sb.Append(id);
sb.Append("" meta:resourcekey="lbl");
sb.Append(id);
sb.Append("" /></LoggedInTemplate></asp:LoginView>");
sb.Append("</div>");
return sb.ToString();
}

I also use this method on page_PreRender event

AJAX :: AutoCompleteExtender Generate Server-Side?

Mar 4, 2010

I've got a little situation here. I'm currently developing a site and the client would like the auto completing behavior. Basically not a problem as this exists, until I stumbled upon the fact that I'd also need to be able to generate this same control server-side.

Basically I've got a few pages where this control is added to the ascx controls and it works fine. However for conformity's sake that input should be the same everyhere. However, I do have a certain control on a page that is generated server side completely and I need to get auto complete behavior into that somehow.

Basically my current attempt goes a little something like this:

[Code]....

The second issue I came across here is that this is a .cs file in a class library. Therefore I cannot just put the asmx file in that folder and have it point to the physical path like the sample website. I was wondering if there's any other method of having the control contact the webservice (which is running in the main website in the same manner as it is in the sample site). Something I can define on the control server side.

Invalid Animation definition for TargetControlID="": Name cannot begin with the '%' character, hexadecimal value 0x25. Line 3, position 30.
