Forms Data Controls :: Errors Happening On Controls That Were Not Touched
Mar 18, 2010
I have a dashboard type page that was working fine. I create a new page to test some different controls. Now none of my pages work.Errors are happening on controls that were not touched. I have tried removing things, commenting entire sections but each time I do I get a different error in a different section. I have installed nothing new. The latest is:
BC30456: 'CreateResourceBasedLiteralControl' is not a member of 'ASP.frametest_aspx'.

I have been experiencing instances where a FormView update or insert event fails and should throw an exception, but doesn't. This seems top be related to my switch to Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate and .Net 4.0. Since the switch I have seen this problem several times. Is there something new in .Net or VS that I need to do or set to get the exceptions thrown? Other exceptions seem to work fine...it's just with FormView and SQLDataSource that I don't see them.The specific errors I don't see reported include misspelling a field name in the Select, Insert or Update commands in the SqlDataSource.

I figured I'd post here while I'm scouring the internet for a solution to my problem.
This code works:
[Code]....
My DataAccess method just uses the SQL statement and returns a dataset. If I comment out the repeater DataSource and DataBind lines, it will build successfully. And I know the dataTable has the information I want because I was able to step through and see it. If I leave in the DataSource and DataBind lines, I'm not even able to step through. I have no errors and no warnings, just build failed.
*EDIT* I apologize for the ugliness of this post, I don't know what happened. I changed the repeater to a DataGrid, and still got the Build Error without any errors. I went on anyway, came back, and now everything works fine. A little bug must've crawled in while I wasn't looking.

I have two Listboxes side by side. First Listbox lists all employee. I have a button to move selected employee from Listbox 1 to Listbox 2. If i select multiple employee from ListBox 1 and click on a button to move to selected employee to ListBox 2, then only alternate selection is moved.
For example.
If ListBox 1 have employee listed as :
1. John
2. Micheal
3. Bryan
After moving to ListBox 2. It shows:
1. John
2. Bryan
My Code is:
protected void btnAdd_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
for (int LItem = 0; LItem < this.ListBox1.Items.Count; LItem++)
{
if (this.ListBox1.Items[LItem].Selected)
{
this.ListBox1.Items[LItem].Selected = false;
this.ListBox2.Items.Add(this.ListBox1.Items[LItem]);
this.ListBox1.Items.Remove(this.ListBox1.Items[LItem]);
}
}
}
}

Trying to check if an insert of a new record into an SQL table is happening successfully. I can see that the insert is occuring OK but am not getting the verification to happen.
I'm a little new to C#, I'm thinking it may be in the syntax I'm using in my method in the .cs file line 45. Can't seem to fix it right though.

I have a C# web forms ASP.NET 4.0 web application that uses Routing for URLs for some reason custom errors defined in the system.web section of my web.config is entirely ignored and it will fall back the IIS errors.
This gets entirely ignored
[code]....
This would be a minor inconvenience except that by the fact it falls back to IIS native instead of my application it completely circumvents Elmah logging my 404 exceptions correctly.

I have an SQL 2008 R2 database on an X86 machine that I have backed up a database from. Now I want to restore it to an SQL 2008 R2 instance on an X64 machine and keep gettting format errors (attributed to restoring a higher version of database to a lower database instance ie 2005 to 2008). On inspecting the databases I find the X86 is version 10 and the X64 is version 9 (which is supposed to be the 2005 database)...are there different versions of the same DB for different software platforms?

I have an update panel with a number of [asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger...] controls, and everything was working fine. But now, something keeps inserting duplicate AsyncTriggers, and instead of simply being [asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger...] controls they're [System.Web.UI.AsyncPostBackTrigger...] controls, and I get parser errors as a result. So I delete the duplicate triggers, and they get re-inserted within a few minutes, seemingly randomly.

I downloaded the complete web dev 2010, asp.net and sql from your site, installed everything went ok, created site, published again everything ok. Asked in forum about images got answer and everything workedok.When I first set the site up, I could login and register new users, great I thought, however I then tried to create a page with a data set on it to view those users, I created a connection string with the wizard, tested connection which worked.When I published the page it came up with a ton of errors and after that I couldn't login or register any users, anyone got any ideas.

NOTE: I have an aspx ASPX page which is rendered from a SiteMap. 1st time the POSTBACK happens, but subsequently in same sessions, POSTBACK does not get fired.
HACK (not working) - I have the refresh meta tag like this inside the HTML tag
<html>
<head id="Head1" runat="server">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="2">
<link rel="Stylesheet" type="text/css" href="~/Main.css" id="style"/>
</head>
</html>
When I am visiting this ASPX page, I want this META tag to be called only ONCE. So, I was trying the following code in OnLoadComplete event ?- HtmlMeta meta = new HtmlMeta();
HtmlHead head = (HtmlHead)Page.Header;
head.Controls.RemoveAt(0);

I was wondering if there's a way in Umbraco to log errors that we get when it fails to load xslt or user-controls. Generally it shows a red box saying it couldn't load the control and stuff. Is there a way to properly log this?

When I build my program, if there's one error that prevents it from running, instead of just getting the one error I'll get around 50 additional errors in addition to the real one such as:
Error 27 Validation (XHTML 1.0 Transitional): This name contains uppercase characters, which is not allowed.
Is there any way to not show these?

In form I have added two radio button and on one radio button oncheckedchanged event has been registered but this event does happen only when i select the button and not when i select the other(The checked is changed).
code is posted below:
<asp:RadioButton ID="RadioButton1" runat="server" GroupName="a"
oncheckedchanged="RadioButton1_CheckedChanged" />
<asp:RadioButton ID="RadioButton2" runat="server" GroupName="a" />
<asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="Button" />
