Webforms - Search Field Enter Button

Feb 10, 2011

I have a web page with 3 search fields on it, each with a different submit button. When using the enter button on the keyboard to submit any of them, an incorrect action is being performed, although with the mouse it's fine. Any ideas why this is happening? The rendered HTML as requested below:

SQL Server :: Method To Allow A User To Search In A Specific Field For A Records Containing The Keywords They Enter Into A Textbox?

Aug 19, 2010

What's the best method to allow a user to search in a specific field for a record(s) containing the keywords they enter into a textbox? I am considering using the streamreader to obatin the values from textbox into an array, so I can build dynamic query using the stringbuilder. Is there a cleaner or more efficient method to approach this common search functionality?

Visual Studio :: Clear The File Type To Search From The Search Box?

Feb 22, 2010

I have Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 installed on my machine. When I bring up the Find and Replace box in 2008 in any project the 'Look at these file types:' option is blank however in 2005 it keeps defaulting to the file type of RemoveFile. If I don't remember to clear it then it causes my search to fail. Does any one know how do I reset this value or remove this default option so the file type is not set and it looks at every file type when I search for a word.

Web Forms :: How To Setup Individual Search Buttons To Be Triggered Using Enter Key

Jan 12, 2011

I am using the TabContainer control on my page.. i have 3 tabpanels within it that are used for 3 different types of searches..After meeting with the client yesterday it was brought to our attention that once you complete the fields you want to search on and hit enter nothing happens..Is there a way to enable the enter key for the buttons? And if there is, can it be setup so it triggers the correct button? I say this because on the page, even though there are 3 tabs each with their own submit button. Outside of the tabcontainer, we have
another button that is used to save the search criteria for later use. So on the page there are 4 submit buttons

JavaScript Not Able To Convince Mouse To Change Its Cursor

Sep 21, 2010

I have an ASP.NET page with an Infragistics webgrid on it. I handle the mouseover, mouseout events over the rows of the grid in a couple methods in Javascript to change the mouse cursor to the pointer and back to the default as they mouse over rows. I also toggle the color of the mouse-over'd row. When I run the page in debug locally, it works fine. When I publish to the test server, and run it outside of VS in Iexplore (8), the mouse cursor does not change. It stays the arrow. The row toggles the background color correctly, though.

I figured this was a caching issue, but when I add an alert box in the methods to display the document.body.style.cursor, it shows the cursor state in the alert correctly; it just doesn't change the mouse cursor. I've cleared the cache in the browser, deleted and republished, added GUID querystrings to the javascript file links, etc.

If I try the page on the test server in Firefox, it shows the pointer cursor correctly.

function _projGrid_MouseOverHandler(gridName, id, objectType) {
if (objectType == 0) {
document.body.style.cursor = 'pointer';
// alert('mouse pointer should be: ' + document.body.style.cursor);
var cell = igtbl_getCellById(id);
var elem = cell.Element;
setRowBackColor(cell.Row, "F0E68C");
}
}
function _projGrid_MouseOutHandler(gridName, id, objectType) {
if (objectType == 0) {
document.body.style.cursor = 'default';
// alert('mouse pointer should be: ' + document.body.style.cursor);
var cell = igtbl_getCellById(id);
setRowBackColor(cell.Row, "white");
}
}
function setRowBackColor(row, color) {
var cells = row.getCellElements();
for (var i = 0; i < cells.length; i++) {
cells[i].style.backgroundColor = color;
}
