Jquery Dialog Box Increases The Size Of Input Controls Each Time It Is Opened?

In internet exporer 8, every time the dialog box is opened the textbox controls increase in size! None of the other items do: label and button. If it makes any difference - dialog is created when a certain item is selected within a select list.
Th dialog is themed from the theme roller site and the controls styled using an external css file.

I came across the following given a asp.net page containing
<div id='test'>
<input type='checkbox' id='ch1' name='ch1' runat=server />
<input type="button" id="view_test" />
</div>
and the following jquery code to show this div in a dialog
$("#view_test").click(function() {
$("#test").dialog({ show: 'slide', width: 600, title: 'View Check' });
});
If view_test button was clicked, initializing the dialog, before the form post backs the checkbox ch1.Checked property in .Net is always False. However if you just postback without initializing the dialog it works as expected.

I'm developing an app with asp.net and jQuery and I have a strange problem, I have the div(used as dialog) and a button to show the dialog, the first time I call the dialog, it shows correctly, I close it but when I try to show for the second time the background grays but the dialog doesn't show (only in IE in firefox it works fine). Is there a way to fix this? Or maybe I'm doing somethign wrong.

How do i set the size of the tooltip dialog box. the tooltip text must be displayed in one line rather than wrapping the text to other line.
in firefox and IE7 tooltip text is showed in one line but in IE8 the tooltip text is wrapped . i.e text is displayed in 2 lines.

I am downloading file from database using the following code. This code downloads an excel file from the database which has a macro attached to it when it is opened. This macro reads file name of the excel file and uses it for its computation. Everthing works file if user saves the file on his harddisk and then open if but if he directly opens the file from the dialog(by hitting 'Open' button) then file name of the opened excel file comes out be the name of the webform that has the above code and this leads to error in the macro. Is there any option through which i can control the name of the file if user directly opens the file from dialog or the option to disable or remove 'Open' button form the dialog?

I have a series of jQuery dialogs that contain ASP.NET form fields. I have a hidden ASP.NET button that is triggered when the user clicks a button in one of the jQuery dialogs. I can enter some data (listboxes and textboxes) and click the button that triggers the hidden button's event (an onClick) and the page will post back.
But, when I put a breakpoint in the onClick event in my codebehind I see that the form fields (reportTypeListBox.SelectedValue, etc.) just have the default values instead of the ones I entered. This happens unless I take the form fields out of the jQuery dialog, then it works perfectly.
I have another jQuery dialog that contains a ASP.NET textbox that is basically doing the same thing (triggering a hidden ASP.NET button with an onClick event) that works properly. The only difference is that its jQuery dialog is not in a seperate javascript function. It's right in the "$(document).ready(function () { }." While, the series of dialogs that are having trouble are in a function called "openDialog(selector)."

I have the following gridview, which fits ontop a screen without having to scroll. I added
AutoGenerateDeleteButton="True" AutoGenerateEditButton="True"
Now when I select "Edit" it increases the with of the gridview and makes scrollbars because the width increase. This is because it creates texboxes for each column for me to edit...but the width increases soo much..

I'd like to add a description field to an application that can be as long as several lines (or even paragraphs) or as short as a one-liner.Instead of taking up a lot of screen real estate or have scroll bars, it would be preferable to have the textbox grow based on its input.
On IE6 adding Style="overflow-y:visible" accomplishes this nicely (both on display of read only, and if we are in edit mode).
However, it has no effect on Firefox, or IE7 for that matter.

I would like to have a contact form which contains a reCaptcha, and have that form inside a jquery ui modal dialog.
All works well, except that I have a submit button for the form - which closes the modal dialog wether the recaptcha is valid or invalid.
I tried adding onClientClick="return false;" to the submit button, but it still posts back, and closes the dialog.
how do I remain inside the dialog ?

I'm assigning a div containing an ordinary grid view to the content of a jquery dialog, but the gridview is omitted from the dialog. I've tried even building the dialog fresh on a button click in case it's having a hard time binding to the data-refreshedgrid. No Joy.

g to export data from SP to a .xlsx sheet. Total no of rows is more than 15000 with total of 13 columns.The data is generated with the help of SQL Server SP. Till this point it is working fine. However while exporting to excel I do not get any data , the excel has blank content.If I have records less than 12000 it generated the excel report with relevant data. However as row increases the report is blank.

For Example: User input 2:00pm Eastern Time on my server I have different time zone, how to calculate the time and send the email at users time-zone. Its a web application. So I could find all input elements that will require validation.And use this in a loop to add validation to the input's found :
