I have a MVC3 project using Area in it.the struct of web site si ' top - middle - bottom'the middle layer is divided into left and right partat the left part , I want to write codes as public to use, but '_ViewStart.cshtml' in the Area it's point to the '_Layout.cshtml' file at '~/Views/Shared/' my problem is how to use another cshml file as '_Layout.cshtml'
In the default ASP.NET MVC 3 project, layout & partial cshtml files start with an underscore (eg. _viewstart, _Layout, _LogOnPartial). Why? Does the framework give some special meaning to a cshtml file that begins with an underscore?
I would like to use the _ViewStart page to set the master page (layout) used by the views. I have only two different layouts. One for the homepage and one for the other pages (but that may change)I was hoping to add a dynamic property to the ViewModel object in the home page's controller method and then check for it. Something like this_ViewStart =
I'm a MVC[3] noob trying to intergrate html5 framework in the shared [site] layout. Just getting the index page to load is not working. I started from scratch (new MVC3 project). I also compared the web.config files and the controllers to the MVC3 sample project from asp.net/mvc site. Everything appears to be in order.
Afetr uploading a file from database it returns string value.I want replace the uploaded filename with new string [return ] value inside saved path .So I want to enter into my Saved filepath folder and Find uploaded filename & replace with new string value..?The reason of replacing that file with new string value is backend people know that file upload is completed.How to enter into the path..I am getting my filepath from webconfig file. I have an application where I export some crystal reports to a shared folder like:
Code: Dim ReportFilePath As String = "XXXXXAutoLoad ReportsReports" DiskOpts.DiskFileName = ReportFilePath & "" & ReportName myCrystalReport1.ExportOptions.DestinationOptions = DiskOpts myCrystalReport1.Export()
My question is: I looks it uses the machine account to access this folder like:
domainvgiwpw03-xxx$ (name of the server is vgiwpw03-xxx2).
Is there a way to programmatically specify which account to use accessing the shared folder? We do not like to use machine accounts as this may change if we switch servers etc.
I know i'm not in the right spot to post this. I hope someone experienced this before and can help.I have an old classic asp website. I try to run it with localhost/foldname/default.asp but it gives me 404 error:

I have a page that have a combobox and a button, when the user select something from the combobox and hit the Go button they are redirected to the page with the desired variable.
[Code]....
The problem appears when the page was not used from more than 20 minutes and the user select something from the comboBox and hit Go Button the receive a page indicating the Error 404.The only thing that I try is to use a javascript code that Refresh the page every 15 minutes but is not nice to see a page refreshing without a reason.If someone can have a way to identify what can be done in this problem, Its going to be a huge help.
I have a CentOS 5.x server running Mono 2.8.1 and mod_mono 2.8 with apache2.
Every time I deploy a site from visual studio 2010 to my server by ftp, and navigate to the site, I get a 404 not found error page.
Sites in other subdomains (virtual hosts) are not affected.
Performing a restart of httpd using /etc/init.d/httpd restart fixes the problem, and I can view my ASP site again. Obviously restarting the entire httpd process is less than adequate.
My guess is that this is similar to application domains in IIS. Is there a way to 'recycle' and app domain in mod_mono? Can I set this to happen on deployment?
How can i directly access a .cshtml file in ASP.NET MVC using razor view engine?
For example i have this url: localhost/Home/About. This will load the about site inside the "master" page.
I want to load the about page without also loading the master page. So i was thinking that i could use this url: localhost/Home/About.cshtml. But it's not working.
How can i load a view page without loading the master page?
I have a website which has both html and aspx pages. for aspx pages i have added code in customerror section in web.config and is working fine, but only in case of aspx pages. I want if somebody looks for html page which does not exist should also be taken to error page.[URL]( What about html pages section) will only work if the site is hosted at my servers, but in my case the website is hosted somewhere else.
i have to create some files dynamically. those are referred in html anchor control.i want to process some requested files in asp.net worker process but IIS just intercept all these requests and show 404 page not found page. how can i avoid IIS bevaiour in such cases additionally i can not map these files extentions to IIS because i don't know there are so many???
In my website users can create thier own websites by making folder of thier choice like: [URL] Where the folders Pankaj and Adam are storing in database. I just want that when user after creting thier website just clicked or type the address of thier website as [URL] then if the folder with name Pankaj exists in database then the page will open otherwise it gives the http 404 page not found error. And while the address [URL] is opens then i donot want to physically create it on server. My requirement is that i want to open it by the concept of url rewriting/ Routing. Which one concept will be good for this. And can anyone provide some code with example that how can i achieve this easily.
I am able to display Customer records, but when I click on the details link to retrieve related orders, I am getting Resource not found error as shown below.: I can email to you my solution project to help make things clearer.I have added my code for CustomerController class
I'm new to ASP.NET. I'm making a session counter, which is incremented in the Session_Start() event and decremented in Session_End(). I have created a Global.asax file and added the event handlers. Then I wanted to access the Application object in a .cshtml file, but the Application object is not available. It's underlined with a red squiggly line.
I have a site with 2 web servers and NLB (Windows Server 2008 and IIS 7). I'm trying to move the site to NAS storage accessed via a UNC path.
I have copied the site files to the NAS and set all permissions on the NAS. The only change I'm making in IIS is to the sites path. I can change the path back to local storage on the web server and there is no error. I switch the path to the UNC path and I get the error.
When set to the UNC path, within IIS Manager on each web server I can successfully browse to HTML files, but I get a 404 browsing to ASPX files. I've narrowed the error down to something going on when the page directive is in the aspx file. That is, when the aspx file has only html, the page will load fine. When I add the page directive to the aspx file I get the 404:
I don't see anything in the code behind that could possible cause 404, and the site files match exactly between those on the web server and those on the NAS.
I am trying to upload a file Into a MapPath but I am getting a error 'C:/WebSite/userimages/' is a physical path, but a virtual path was expected. My code is:
I have an image folder stored at ~/Content/Images/
I am loading these images via
<img src="/Content/Images/Image.png" />
Recently, the images aren't loading and I am getting the following errors in my error log. What's weird is that some images load fine, while others do not load.
what is wrong with my routes? Am I missing an ignore route for the /Content/ folder?
I am also getting the same error for favicon.ico and a bunch of other image files...
