I'm using .Net 2008 and Oracle 10g as my database. The problem I'm getting is after deploying the application in IIS, when multiple users access the same page at a time i'm getting the error. Can't get the output.

i am still relatively new to web development and have been encountering some issues when multiple users click a button at the same time.
i was wondering what could be causing this as i have already removed all static variables realiseing that was a mistake and replaced them with viewstates were needed then sessions when moving across pages

I wanted to know how to prevent more than one user from uploading the report at a time .
This is a Windos based app written in c# . When User A clicks Upload option on one server from the menu to upload the files and at the same time when User B clicks Upload option on different server , User B should be alerted a message saying "User A's uploading is in progress, pls wait" . How to achieve this, with the code..I am thinking this logic should be kept in a stored proc, How do I write that proc?
Single record in Customer can have multiple CustomerPhone records. As you see in the image below, Phone and Fax resides in CustomerPhone table whereas the rest of the fields resides in Customer table. If user want to edits a customer record, obviously i will have to update the record in Customer table and at least two records from CustomerPhone (Phone and Fax).
I could write two update statements, one Update customerPhone and the second update Customer table. Is there a better solution?
I have used Login Control + Change Password + Create User Wizard in my project. Everything is working fine. I want to know that how to get the List of Users and also to Update/Delete users.
I need to send emails based on users input time and day (based on their time zone)? Kind of a reminder.
For Example: User input 2:00pm Eastern Time on my server I have different time zone, how to calculate the time and send the email at users time-zone. Its a web application. What is the best way to accomplish it using asp.net c#? If somebody already done it in the past I will be glad to take a look at source code.
This is the sqlDateTime overflow problem again. Background. As I'm sure you know dates must be between 1/1/1753 and 12/31/2999. If you have an empty date field, it throws and exception. So I created a function (below) that solve the problem when attempting to update or insert a record with a date field. Works great.
Public Shared Function MakeDateField(ByVal pasDate As String) As Nullable(Of DateTime)
If IsDate(pasDate) Then Try If pasDate <= System.DateTime.MinValue Then Return Nothing Else Return CType(pasDate, DateTime) End If Catch ex As NullReferenceException Return Nothing End Try Else Return Nothing End If End Function
So I thought about using a time field. I have the field, have the validator in place and then attempted to test the page. It resulted in my least favorite error message "sqlDateTime overflow".
I can think of several workarounds like adding a date or a fixed date to the time field, or converting it to a string. Each of these is problematic.
IS THERE A BETTER WAY TO UPDATE/INSERT TIME FIELDS.
I have a gridview on my page. I have a checkbox in each row of this gridview. For each checkbox in the gridview, I'd like to update my table accordingly, but I don't want them to have to hit a submit button every time they check the checkbox. I want them to check all the boxes they need to and at the end, they should hit one submit button.
I need to do an update a field in database every x minutes. ie: a person login and I need to update a field related to they every X minutes until the value reach a value. Like this, this person start a count event from 1 to 10, they log off the web, but this count must remain countting until reachs 10, 1 by 1 every 7 minutes. I cannot do a SQL Job. Should I User a System.Timer??? Should I record the time and value of the last update, when the person log in I cauculate and update the value??
I have a form which inserts data in DB on Submit button click but the problem is when client click the button multiple times its sends multiple create requests means multiple button click events for the same time of same data, which must not be.
I tried to disable the button when client click the Submit button first time but after this it does not call server click event handler or not fire the server click event once it got disabled.
Given a Database that has a table Called [Bid Transactions], which contains records of all available auctions that are currently running on an ASP.net website .. something similar to Ebay.com, when the deadline of the auction passed, I should close that auction, Send a notification message to both the item owner and the bidding winner to inform them.
how should I keep track of all open auctions? how could I monitor all their ending time and update the Auction status to be "Closed" on Real-time basis? ..
(1) Using SQL jobs ? .. that should reduce system performance .. shouldn't it ?
(2) A back-end service that is running on the server and uses Threading ? .. I have no clear background about that solution.
"With ASP.NET I've found that request are processed sequentially, one at a time, at least on a server with one CPU. If one request blocks for some reason, maybe on a long database query, then all users must wait until it completes, for their request to process."
Is this true? Do multi-core processors effect this? Also if you do ahve more than one CPU will it stop processing sequentially automatically or is the default always sequentially?
i want to build a datagrid bound to a datatable with several columns. One column has only a dropdownlist with the number of the rows in the datatable.
Here a samplescreenshot:
[URL]
I know how to bind the columns to a grid and its no problem to create such a dropdown list with the content for me, too. But i dont know how to sort the complete datatabl after changing one value of one dropdown listbox.
So, how can i resort the values of a datatable column based on a given value and the datarow id?

I've got a single table, with project information and schedule information. To make the data easier to present, I created a tab control with two panels (a detailsview in each). The first tab is for project info, the second tab is for schedule info (again, all fields in the same table). The problem is, if i change info in both tabs, and then hit the update button, only the data from one tab is added to the table. I think this problem is simple to fix, and boils down to the way I have the page organized, but I can't quite figure it out.
I've boiled my code down to the following conceptualized structure:
[code]....
When you click the update button, you return to the listview, but with only the information from your current tab saved. How can I get it to update from both detailsviews?
I want to update multiple rows of gridview (only price field. for that i have added textbox) on click of update button which is outside of gridview.I have done following way
Up to this its working fine but when no textbox updated then no need to go in for loop so i am looking for confiramtion before updating rows please help me how to do that becausei am less aware with javascript. another problem is textbox value disappear when page index changed how i can retain that values.
I have a user control, that has an update panel and update progress control in it.
I use this user control in more than 1 location on the same page.... problem is, when ucA posts back, I see the update progress control for both ucA and ucB. I assume this is because it is a user control and the update panel and progress are named the same?
Either way - how do I make it so that the update progress only displays for the proper user control?
