VS 2010 - How To Bind Values From Column A In Excel To DropdownList

How do I bind data from an Excel file named Book1.xlsx in Column A to a dropdownlist? I've tried like this:

But the dropdown is filled with "System.Data.DataRowView" for all the 5 lines in the dropdown. How do I get the values shown instead of this? It must be some formatting of dt2 I think.

I have a GridView control that has a SQLDataSource.
The GridView provides me with a list of musical artists (from the tblArtists)
In the Grid, I have a field, FKGenreID, that is a Foreign Key value for music Genres.
(An example of the data in that field would be "7", which upon lookup would mean Classical in the tblGenreList table.)
What I'd like to do is add a DropDownList control that looks up the tblGenreList table and populates the DropDownList with the ID and Description from the tblGenreList Lookup table.
Now the tricky part is that if the GridView field (FKGenreID) has a value, then I'd like the corresponding Genre Description to be displayed in the DropDownList
Alternately, if there is no value for FKGenreID in the GridView, then I'd like the DropDownList to show that nothing was selected, but have the list of Genres available.
Most importantly here, when the user makes a selection, I'd like the GenreID (from the DropDownList) to be entered into the FKGenreID field in the GridView field.
My thought is that a gridview record may or may not have a value in the FKGenreID field. Either way, the DropDownList is bound to that field. The DropDownList would display a list ofGenre Descriptions for the user to select from. Upon selection, the GenreID column of the DropDownList becomes the value in for the FKGenreID field in the GridView.
Is this possible?

I want to bind data(For ex: Employee name, Employee ID from Employee) to a dropdownlist and the data should be displayed in dropdownlist as two columns. I don't want to separate this columns by using any special characters like | or '-'. I want to display them as different columns in a dropdownlist.

The BLLOnderhoud is a class and the getReserveInfo is used to get the Model - Brand(merk) Information.Since the dropdownlists are nested in the gridview I can't call them directly and they can't call any of my functions.And this is the problem, when I change the dropdownfield Model the Auto field wich is the last dropdown(in the picture is a typo) should be binded like in the following code:

But the dropdownlist onDataBound event can't call any of my functions that are in my class.So my question is how can the onDataBound event of the second dropbox trigger a function? The only thing that the function has to do is to bind the 3rd dropdownlist

I have several controls on a page that I want to bind the enabled property to a couple of properties in code behind that are set on Page_Load. Here's an example of what I'm using to bind to the properties.
This works fine once the page is posted back for the first 4 controls on the page.Here's the 1st control that doesn't get disabled like I expect it to. The expression is the same in the Enabled property so I'm not sure why it isn't working.
I have a data table that has several columns, one of which is an xml field. I want to bind a column in the gridview to a single node in the xml based on an xpath. The binding only needs to be read only, it won't be used to update. How would I do that?
I want bind the first column of the grid to IDField - that's easy. I also want to bind the second column of the grid to the Name node of the XMLData field. The xpath would be Person/Name.

I need to read a column in excell which has more then 255 characters. The problem is that i can only read 255char max from one column, so i dont have the entire text from excell

The problem is that the string 'opmerking' is allways limited to 255 characters... i need the other characters as well
