View 6 RepliesI'm just wondering what people use to stop user from click a submission button more than once thus creating many records. Does any one have any examples that take client-side validation into account. I have done much research on this but am yet to find a feasible solution.
View 1 RepliesBack in the ASP classic days when i needed to write out the name/value pairs of forms submitted by POST i thru this loop into the page: on error resume next for each x in Request.Form Response.AppendToLog x & "=" & Request(x) next. It threw all the form fields and values into the log just as GETs are. Does IIS7 .net give me any better method? (this is for the dev/testing portion of the project i don't have any concern about the space or cycles used to accomplish this).
View 2 RepliesI have a simple sign up form, user fill that form and press submit and then he refresh the page, the form re submit again and data enter in database twice. How to prevent?
View 1 RepliesI have a dummy html file:
.....<body>
<p><a href="http://www.google.com">link 1</a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.google.com">link 2</a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.google.com">link 3</a></p>
<p> </p>
</body>
I need to add a autoincrement int after the http://www.google.com, though unique for each occurance so the result will be:
<body>
<p><a href="http://www.google.com" 1>link 1</a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.google.com" 2>link 2</a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.google.com" 3>link 3</a></p>
<p> </p>
</body>
Obviously with .replace I get [URL] 3 2 1 > 1 and so on... I am thinking of contructing a two dimensional Array where myArray[0][0] will be the first match like myArray[URL][0] the second element the second match. myArray[URL][1] and so on. So then I would iterate through the second dimension of the array. Will this work? I am thinking that it won't...
I'm developing ASP.NET applications and stuck with a "problem" relating to resubmit behaviour. I'm controling the re-submit using a counter in form submit event which disables the submit if it's already been posted. My application is a 3 step workflow and when the 3rd step is shown the transaction was submited from step2 to step 3. What's my problem? Well... i want to avoid the user to resubmit the data by pressing the F5 or all other possibility. I don't want to disable the key because may be workarounds. I'm wondering if i can remove the post data in a HTTP module that runs after the render was completed and right before the response is sent to the user.
View 2 RepliesI have a couple of fields on a form that will be populated with default values. I would like to put a button that will allow me to reset those fields to their default values if they have been modified. However I would like to avoid the postback so that I don't have data being sent to the database. Is it possible to add a javascript hook such that when that button is pressed I can pull the default values and populate those fields in javascript?
View 1 RepliesI wanted to stop multiple login of the same user. So, I created a table which keeps track of users who have logged in. When they log in, the data will be entered in the table. When they click on logout, data and session will be removed. The problem is, when they close the browser window without logging out, they won't be able to login ever again.

View 3 Repliesi have probleM to check the login ,but i found one solution in this site.. AVOID MULTIPLE USER LOGIN, ...IS THER ANY OTHER METHOD TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.....
View 1 RepliesI created an asp.net Server control that derives from a LinkButton, and renders a small javascript function to the page. I want to use this control many times on the page, but just want the javascript to be rendered once on the page. On the other hand, I rather not manually add it in a js file, because i don't want to have a chance of forgetting to add the js file in the future.
View 3 RepliesI wonder how is it possible to manage transaction in c# code.. I have to do multiple insertion of same object with unique storedprocedure. So I have to launch the same stored procedure with same parameters multiple times.
But if a problem appear in the process (lost connection,...) I don't want just a part of insertions done and the rest failed, I want all the insertion cancelled. So I would like a SQLtransaction but within the application code because a can't change database.
I have a music related ASP.NET web site which caches a lot of static information from the database on the first request.Sometimes, the application is reset and cache is cleared while the application is on heavy load and then all http requests go to the database to retrieve that static data and cache it for other requests.
How can I ensure that only one request go to the database and cache the results, so that other request simply read that info from cache and not needlessly retrieve the same info over and over again.Can I use thread locking? For example, can I do something like lock(this) { db access here }?
I am using [URL] ....
And my question is the user should not vote again if he/she already voted....
I am listing about 20 rows, each row represents an Order.Each row needs to have 3 buttons, each button click will perform a different action.I have 3 actions to handle each button post request, I am just unsure how to setup the Html forms for each button.
<tr>
<td>
<form method="post" action="/orders/do1"><input type=button ... /></form>
<form method="post" action="/orders/do2"><input type=button ... /></form> [code]....
Should I create 3 forms for each button, per row in my listing?(that would mean 20 rows x 3 forms = 60 forms on a page)Is that 'ok' to do? (i.e. or is there a better way to do this?)
I have a requirement to build a form that has multiple steps (there are 12 steps in total). Based on a querystring (eg. t=1), only certain steps need to be in the form. For example, if t=1, only steps 1, 2, 3 and 12 are required so I need to be able to skip
steps 4 through 11.
I'm using a Wizard control for this so far but I'm running into issues with the page lifecycle and moving to the next wizardstep and am wondering how people suggest I could better do the above. The crux of what I'm doing is:
- determine form type based on querystring use a Select statement, then create an array of step ID's applicable to the form type
[Code]....
- when a user clicks next, the method OnActiveStepChanged is fired and the next step based on the array value needs to be shown (this is where I'm having issues)
[Code]....
This all seems to be working however when the user clicks next from the starting step in the wizard, the next step is blank (ie. no step is rendered).
What I've done may not be the easiest way to acheive what I'm trying to so I'm hoping somebody has a "why dont you just do this?" type suggestion :)
can i have the code for getting the values including Images & Data associated with Checkbox control which is checked on submited.i'm using table,in which i have images along with values of measurements.if i'm checking the checkbox means i need to get the value of that particular images and i need to send it to an eamil id.here i need a code for getting values of the image. if any one provide a code for this either for normal tables or ASP tables.
<asp:CheckBox ID="chkbx12" OnCheckedChanged="chkLayout_CheckedChanged" Checked="true" AutoPostBack="true" runat="server" Text="Select" Font-Names="Arial" />

What I have is a datagrid full on personel and their W-2 information for the yr. Currenlty i have a form on another asp page that I send the individuals to one click at a time to print ther W-2. Is there a way to send all the personnel to the form at once and print them all off instead of doing each one individually.
View 4 RepliesI am having problem with multiple clicks on submit button. Multiple clicks cause duplicate record insertion in database. On the form, I have used validation controls. Also I have to make some validations at server side, so I can't use javascript to prevent multiple clicks.
View 15 RepliesI am needing to display two gridviews in the same panel on a form. Each of the gridviews has their own sqldatasource. Both datasources pull from the same table but they have a different record selection. When I view this in the browser I only see one gridview displayed. Can someone tell me how to do this or is there a better way to get a two gridview look without using the gridview?
View 5 RepliesI have a web form on a web page like this:
<form method="post" action="http://poston.domain.com/" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input type="hidden" name="function" value="somevalue"> <input type="text" name="username" value="somevalue2"> <input type="text" name="password" value="somevalue3"> <input type="file" name="picture"> <input type="text" name="pictto" value="0"> <input type="submit" value="Send"></form>
I can post all the required data to that form on that page by calling the following function:

I am using two button click events and some required field validators . If I click the first button the fields in the other button also validates
I actually want to validate based on the button click if a first button is clicked only the fileds which are under button1 should validate not the fields which are in button2.
I tried requiredfieldvalidator.enabled = false
it did not work.
